Back in 1996 I was in the Arlington police explorers as a teenager. One day down at the station Ronnie came in and said hello to us. It was just amazing. We’d never seen anyone that big up close. It was in the days before mainstream internet. All we had was bodybuilding magazines. It was truly an inspiration seeing him and I was very proud that Ronnie was from my home town.

@EMINEM 1996 was not the Golden Era. Ronnie Coleman is one of many who had perpetuated the destruction of professional bodybuilding... forgetting all about anything regarding "symmetry".. and going for size. At 5-11 and 287-300lbs during contest season, it's anything but, Golden. Ronnie Coleman may be a great guy... but, as a bodybuilder, he has lost his way. As have many others... and the judges have lost their minds. Bodybuilding has lost all meaning. Arnold knows this to be true.

I am 40 years in this and I am 6.5 340 pounds at 54 years of age and all without steroids .. and I can outlift these guy's any day.
Just eating tons and training .. Growing up Jimmy Caruso told me I was going to be the next Arnold he couldn't believe I was 15 years old 240 natural and insanely powerful.. at that time but bodybuilding commitment to me was not for me.
Picture a horse that could run faster than any other horse but never entered a race..
I always loved bodybuilding and being in Landscaping and Construction I always lifted heavy . When you got a plastic bucket on the beach to build sand castles my dad threw me a real shovel and said if you want this $20 bucks shovel that 2 tons of rocks over there before nightfall. So that's what made us tuff and we were children.
So you understand why I make comments like this is because i grew up with all these nerds turn into all these hero's selling a lie because they took drugs to get there because naturally they didn't have genetic to reach that stage of being built
and when off it they returned back to nerds or regular guy's you'd never look at twice..
Achilles , Leonidas, SPARTACUS, Julius Caesar are real heros ...
So many men who never took fake drugs to be the greatest men in history remembered forever...You will be remembered for A 1000 years was the saying.
So look up to these fakes... FUGAZY. no never, do I like them yes awesome guy's.. but no hero to me when i'm the real deal. I made a choice and I am glad I did. You don't know me if you did you'd say nothing.. And yes it's all drugs because if they didn't use them, you would see day and night the difference because I know them all and have seen behind the scene all these guys and what they took from when they started and now..

Big Ron, he is a legend. I grew up in highschool lifting at Metro Flex watching him lift. When he was in there EVERYONE was going hard. It was just in the air. It's a very small but gritty gym. It was perfect for me at that age. I was so young I had to get dropped off by my parents. Great memories.

Ronnie is a unique character, probably the best bodybuilder in history, a joyful and amusing man. The weights that Ronnie lifted are on a par with what the strongest men in the world are lifting. The price that this champion has to pay for the rigorous exercises is his health, that is, he lost his health in that his back is badly damaged, as are his feet. Yet this genius smiles and tells more interesting stories than most. Respect.

But I will always strive for the best of who I am being once I was a bodybuilder I won the Pittsburgh title in 1990 but even after that I still find myself in the gym with the same mindset of believing who I am. Thanks to you. myself being part of that mutating factor of of what it takes to over come. (PAIN)

The way Ronnie explains his love for lifting sounds like how I felt about video games growing up. Though I was poor and rarely got to play.
But video games seem to be a life detractor. No good. And I got bored later in life with them anyways.
But damn for a long time I really loved video games even if I couldn't afford to play em.
I wish I could feel a passion for something like that again. Where there's just zero effort required. You can't help but ache for the next day.
I guess lifting is the closest to that. It's It's a struggle to get in the gym though. But some days I'm itching so bad to go lift. Those are good days.

Both Ronnie(the KING) and Mike(the TITAN) are legends in their own RIGHT. Each are doing similar but different versions of the sport, both took different routes, and both wouldnt change a thing on how they have done it. They are both very approachable people, Ronnie I have never met, but Mike I did meet once for a short minute, but seemed very willing to talk to anyone, as if they were a friend.
