I am going to disagree. I know a guy who is IFBB pro, basically Olympia material (Patrick Johnson, from Denmark - you can look him up). No doubt that they do take a lot, BUT. Regular gym bros do just as much. They are just hyper responders.
Let me explain some science to you guys. The average guy taking 300mg test , after 6 weeks it builds up to about 450-500mg test baseline in your body. Now if your genetically gifted that number could shoot up to 800+mg test baseline. Both use the same dosages but the build up of baseline is completely different. It’s genetics

I love hearing conversations like this. It kills me when people scoff at someone for taking steroids like it makes it easy. Those guys dedicate 24 hours of every day to the sport. From the insane diet, incredibly intense workouts, knowledge of physiology, etc, those guys are at a level most people don’t even know exists. Imagine setting an alarm several times throughout the night just to get up and eat so you can keep your massive protein intake consistent.
it's not that it's easy, it's how much of a farce and weird thing to want to watch science experiments with spray tans walk around in their draws and to talk about their genetics and to buy protein powder. It takes a ton of dedication and talent along with a lot of gear to even finish in the top 10 of any competition, but it's absurd to a lot of people.
Regardless of effort and all the variables needed to reach gargantuan size without steroids there is a true limit that humans can take their body’s capacity to build on. Proof is how Ronnies legs have completely disappeared to practically barely a normal size. If man was meant to look like that naturally common sense says the physique will last long into one’s 80’s. That has and will not happen period. All massive bodybuilders have lost their physiques when they reach their 60’s and progressively get smaller and less dense. That’s if they reach their 60’s in the first place. In my opinion Ronnie will live longer because he had to stop abusing his internal and external body but if the damage he did is just dormant for now he good die young as the damage becomes more evident while he ages.
By doing steroids. It wasn't the human body at all. Men like Wim Hof push the human body to its limits, surviving below zero temperatures in nothing but his shorts or boxers for hours. The human body is infinitely capable, but juicing on steroids and tren and all of that bullshit means nothing.
The fact he went Cold Turkey in the 3 off months and didn't get depressed or any type of addiction is INCREDIBLE.... They need to study his Genes asap!
Bodybuilder: "Hi, I am 6'2", 330lbs, 4% body fat" Doctor: "Yes... Unfortunately you have Testosterone deficiency :( But worry not! I'll give you this T-enanthate shot here and a few DBol pills and you should be fine! ;)"
Ronnie Coleman- 1% of body builders could get as big as he did - he says. There was no arrogance ; it was just fact . He willed himself to stop steriods cold turkey at the end of the "season"; with NO side effects. Talk about a strong man.
I mean, if you think about it 1% is WAY too generous. Just imagine all the pros walking his stage and minor stages, they were all taking the same stuff as him, some surely even more. Also there are people outside the pro scene doing the same thing and still we've seen only few guys getting as big as him. It is what it is. Some very gifted people walk into the gym and get good, some of them want to get bigger and work their ass off, they diet and live the bodybuilder lifestyle. Some of them want more and are very likely to start juicing and still, we only see few peoples walking the olympia stage every decade. As a skinny guy a muscular body gets me happy, sure someone like me can get tempted to get on some stuff, but insulin and gh is nonsense for us. Gifted people are more likely to get that competitive mindset that drives them into that stuff, and among all that wanted to push themself as far as possible we only had one Ronnie Coleman. I read some comments here where people seem to really think that those guys walking the stage are just the guys taking the most juice in a few circle of people taking that much juice, wich is kinda hilarious.

As a young bodybuilder (Canadian) I went to Venice in the mid '70s to train in what was called the "mecca" back then. I wanted to learn as much as I could and be in the company of all the greats back then. All of the big names with exception of some European and east coast US guys (Nubret, Roger Walker, Ferrigno, Mike Katz,) trained in Venice, California. Gold's was the gym where Arnold, Franco, Denny Gable, the Black Prince (Robby Robinson), Waller, Guliani, Zane, etc. (watch Pumping Iron, there's many others) where they trained. Steroid use was big, although there was very limited knowledge about it, and there was a handful of drugs which everybody used, not like there is today. Some guys (I won't name them, but they were and still are famous) used 100 tablets of Dianabol (methandrostenolone) 5 mg tab strength, per day (normal dose is 1 -2 tabs daily). It was a very cheap, but extremely effective anabolic. All the big names used it. Another more toxic, but effective oral anabolic used widely then was Anadrol which helped put on enormous size in a short period of time. Winstrol V (V for veterinary use) and Testosterone cypionate, Sustanone (test propionate) were a key injectables being used, as was Deca Durabolin. So many guys used massive doses and combinations of these, some used for growth, others for pre-contest conditioning. The thing was that nobody knew what dosages were effective, nobody knew much about toxicity or pharmacology, everybody sort of did what they thought was right and what others were doing. Growth hormone, trenbolone etc. were not on the regimen back then. Most of the drugs were obtained by prescription from doctors who only dealt with bodybuilders in the area. Or were bought and brought back from Tijuana, Mexico, where they had pharmacies dedicated to selling just steroids which were cheap. I had gone over there many times and purchased large amounts of injectable and oral drugs for use when bodybuilding. Many bodybuilders also used speed, coke and other stimulants to help them charge through workouts. It was a different time, but now the understanding of performance enhancers has grown as well as the business side of it. If I can say anything about what I did then, now at 66 years of age, I have stage 3 kidney disease as a direct result of using those drugs all the years I was a bodybuilder.
Tough bastard for sure. Never complains about pain that cripples millions of people completely yet still trains. That's why he was Mr.O. not the drugs or genetics, he never gave up and did whatever it took.
Yes he didnt stop and gave everything but he was naturally only 3rd place on mr olympia champianship again and sgain. Naturally beating almost every juiced bodybuilder in his era explains how genecally gifted he is. He has maybe one of 100k genetics maybe more. But he couldt be mr olympia. So he juiced too nd was since then 1st place.
Ronnie was gifted… he also had a background in powerlifting so he was NATURALLY strong. You add the genetics, the discipline, the way he had a style of “power building” , AND the PEDS there was no stopping him… his injuries also didn’t come from bodybuilding, came from college football and was exasperated from the bodybuilding over the years.
yes but he didnt list things that could power rockets, he did stick to the basics with a ton of discipline and a hella work ethic. i know hundreds of guys that took what you think could power a train and still look like a potato.
No those were pretty basic I'm testing d-ball!! And Ronnie Coleman didn't have to use crazy amounts He never had an enlarged heart or any of the major side effects from steroids. He was natural honestly until he had that 80 lb jump. He really did have one in a million or probably 10 million genetics. All the damage he got was from using way too much weight because his body was just never meant to do that and he already had spinal damage when he started. There's no reason for a bodybuilder to be squatting 800 lb. Or even 600 lb for 20 reps! There are techniques that eliminate the need to do that. Honestly Coleman probably could have got better results if he would have trained more like a bodybuilder and been even bigger than he was with less damage. Matter of fact I know that for a fact cuz that's just basic science. He didn't have to stay on decent amount of drugs like for three decades like the rest of them because of his genetics He probably was on for about 10 or 12 years. I am when he was his first competing in the Olympics he never got better than last place and then flex wheeler introduced him to steroids by his own admission and ruined everybody else's career including his. Coleman dominated the sport for the next decade. And the two drugs he mentioned besides growth hormone are not really that severe not even close they're old and I mean 80 years old d-ball you can use for hormone replacement. Testosterone the same thing and growth hormone replacement therapy is quite common. The dosages is what would be the difference between regular people and then powering a train lol!!! I think Coleman would have done a lot better if you would have used more growth hormone. He finally didn't have the connective tissues ruptures into a spinal disc because both hormone helps those strengthen big time.
Have zero doubts Ronnie was truly a gifted genetic human that responded to these chemicals exactly how they were designed. Only downside he started experiencing was a distended gut toward the later years
Sherlock Honks no shit hey, love how joe tries to pretend steroids are fine, it’s “just genetics” and why all those cops wasting time busting steroid drug dealers? Nothing wrong with extremely illegal steroids and drug dealing
Ronnie Coleman could not of achieved his physique without steroids but most people could not achieve Ronnie's physique with steroids. Hard training and proper nutrition are so important in that game.
He had prescription for them so it was 100% legal. Plus steroids don’t come up on drug tests unless they are specifically testing for testosterone levels and would seem strange for a police department to test for that. Lots of cops take steroids

Bruh u cant just stop cold turkey steroids or your t levels are gonna be like a woman’s. No such thing as stereoids with no side effects

Ronnie is 1 in a lifetime god tier genetics. A living legend
If you dont mind me asking, how long did you take them for?
And was there a point only after which you started to notice the ill effects?
Thank you for your honesty, I too would like to know how long you did that.
Wow, did you ever see Arnold at golds back then

yes but he didnt list things that could power rockets, he did stick to the basics with a ton of discipline and a hella work ethic. i know hundreds of guys that took what you think could power a train and still look like a potato.

Joe Rogan: So what type of steroids did you take?
Ronnie Coleman: YEAH BUDDY!
*Joe pretending he doesn't know what steroids are
Joe: whoa bro, gnarly as!
Lightweight
Since he didn't answer the question truthfully allow me to: Testosterone esters, Trenbolone esters, Nandrolone/Deca-Durabolin esters, Masteron esters, Boldenone/Equipose, Primobolan, Dianabol, Anadrol, Anavar, Winstrol, Halotestin, Turinabol, HGH, IGF1, Insulin...
LI WEIGHT!
Sherlock Honks no shit hey, love how joe tries to pretend steroids are fine, it’s “just genetics” and why all those cops wasting time busting steroid drug dealers? Nothing wrong with extremely illegal steroids and drug dealing
"What kind of steroids were dudes doing back then?"
"Activated almonds"
I haven't been on fit in 5 years.. are people still posting this meme hahaha
duck eggs
Ya but do activated almonds give you a rage boner?
Anabolic chicken
Ronnie Coleman could not of achieved his physique without steroids but most people could not achieve Ronnie's physique with steroids.
Hard training and proper nutrition are so important in that game.
Genetics
of course many people doesnt have his size and height wtf
He also had good genetics as well he the goat for sure
Genetics over hard training and proper nutrition
Obviously has great genetics but not a chance he went 3 months cold Turkey and didn’t lose any gains
I always wondered how Ronnie was able to be an active duty cop and take steroids at the same time
Well, he was Ronnie fkn Coleman. Period
He had prescription for them so it was 100% legal. Plus steroids don’t come up on drug tests unless they are specifically testing for testosterone levels and would seem strange for a police department to test for that. Lots of cops take steroids
Gotta mess with alot of peoples heads.
@Evelia11 If you think he was prescribed all that he took, you're completely naive and ignorant, or a liar.
Theres actually quite a few cops that do steroids I guess they dont test them for it.
DEA: "whats in your bag ronnie?"
Ronnie: "nun but a peanut"

@Greg Pettis which you can get by lifting heavy weights. your comment was completely unnecessary.
Greg Pettis it does when you’re doing 405 for reps
“But I’ll do it!! “
@Greg Pettis time under tension of a 135lb squat compared to a 405lb squat is meaningless. Your comment is technically but fundamentally it's just ignorant.
Rogan, definitely among the best interviewers. He had Ronnie spilling more beans than anybody in the bb industry wanted him to share.
Yes, Rogan is great at getting people talking, but Ronnie was also playing the game. At least half of what Ronnie said was total BS. He's just perfected the illusion of "tell it like it is Ronnie".
Let's not go that far...Joey slings propaganda often....he does good here cuz he knows that game...
Joe: "huh, what are steroids?"

@@CallMeNacho_ he's on TRT, or testosterone replacement therapy. Since Joe is older, his body isn't making testosterone like it was in his 20s and 30s. So legally, he gets a dosage and uses it.
