THE ROCKET locomotive at Bo'ness, West Lothian 1983

I shot this curio reel of silent 8mm film in 1983, on the warm-up Friday before a busy open-weekend of visitors to the still-embryonic Bo'ness & Kinneal Railway in West Lothian. It wasn't the famous original 19th century loco on visit from south of the border here, but a very faithful replica, built in 1979. Note footage of its chimney being too tall to get through the newly-built canopy at the site, and how they got around the issue. The remaining footage was, I think, a Swedish locomotive, also on visit to the preserved railway.
