Probably my favourite video game song of all time, above a whole lot of bangers from the 16-bit era (Squaresoft titles, Nintendo, and Rareware) and beyond. Lazy Afternoons (especially the GBA one I experienced first) was so incredible to hear at one of the many crossroads I've encountered in my life when I was 15. There was a smaller town I'd spend summer vacations in during my adolescent years and this theme fit the place so well. I listen to this one when looking at streets of that place.
When I first heard Lazy Afternoons and Sinister Sundown on the GBA, it was so touching to me... I couldnt wait to hear it outside of 8 bit... That and the 13th Struggle. Great songs
Pouring one out for best boy roxas. He deserved better than being forced to join an abusive gang, getting his memory erased, being put in a mindfuck matrix like scenario, then finally waking up only to become a subconscious like entity of an entirely different person🧿
Just like you until a comment on your Forze del male video pointed it out, I didn't know that some Re:CoM tracks were touched up after the game's release in a soundtrack collection. It's interesting to learn that so I went and listened to a game rip and OST release side by side and noticed other tracks also have differences, some more subtle while others quite noticeable. It's surprising to have not noticed with some if these seeing as they're different just from the first few seconds alone. I'm not great with instrument names but I'll try my best to describe what I noticed. Sinister Sundown and Revenge of Chaos we're already aware of so I'll skip those. The string in Traverse Town is different, that's all. The strings in Face It! seem to be a bit muffled in game compared to the OST, though this one may be a difference in volume causing me to think that. The background strings with the sustained notes seem to be deeper in Thirteenth Discretion in game. Forgotten Challenge is quite different. The organ and drums sounds very synthesized in game, the choir is substantially weaker and there's no increase in volume to everything when the choir comes in. The OST version might as well be an HD ReMIX rendition with how much it sounds orchestrated compared to the in game's synthesization. Graceful Assassin similarly has a much more synthesized sounding organ and the OST version sounding a bit fuller in general. Lord of the Castle's choir is different in game, with other instruments possibly being different or more noticeably stnthesized as well. This version is louder and seems to be less refined in its mixing in general compared to the OST refinement as everything is at least slightly competing to drown each other out in volume. Other tracks may also have differences, but they seem to either not be noticeable without very close inspection or are simply a matter of volume changes upon refinement for the OST release.
Really well done video, love the seamless transitions and game logos! I never noticed how cool the 358/2 Days logo is, I like how the K and S almost connect
KH3 The Afternoon Streets fills me with so much joy
I've gotta try to recreate that bistro recipe at home
Ah, Lazy Afternoons. A classic track. I’d say it’s a shame that we hear it so little, but that’s what makes it special; the limited nature.
You could say it reminds you of something

Aye nice work, this will help me with choosing any others I might include. I think I'll only do it if they're adequately different enough

I really didn't know that RECOM Sinister Sundown had an in-game PS2 version. Sometimes they're not easy to notice.
I dont even know whyd they do it since Recom, BBS, and DDD all use precomposed tracks instead of synthed tracks like the older/DS games
@@reddodeado probably because the ps2 is an older console idk
Aww yeah I love these vids
Ooo opening with the sleepy gameboy CoM is wonderful I immediately feel at peace
