I purchased a 2024 XC90 Recharge Ultimate on 12/08/2023 and drove 1600 miles from my home in Vermont to my home in Florida. The ride was fantastic and very efficient. I did not have to worry about range anxiety. The technology in this car is amazing. The adaptive cruse control coupled with pilot assist, lane departure guidance and forward looking radar made the trip very comfortable, quiet and safe.

This is my first Volvo and I'm super impressed so far. After my first 400 miles of city driving I don't think that I've used even one gallon of gas. I test drove the Audi Q5 plug-in hybrid and then went across the street to a Volvo dealership and drove the XC90. Although the Audi is a great car the XC90 easily won the day and I never looked back at the Audi. When it comes to luxury high performance hybrid SUVs the Volvo XC90 Recharge is an unbeatable value.

I currently own an XC90 Inscription (not hybrid) and its the best car I have ever owned (our family has owned 9 Volvo's over the last 20 years and still have 3 in the garage) The XC90 Recharge will definitely be my next purchase - this hybrid is the best of both worlds and its classic understated luxury results in a very desirable brand!

Some strange ommisions I don't get: they got rid of the scrolling wheel behind the start/stop switch to change drive modes, no arm rests in the second row for captains chairs, and no way to put the third row back up without doing it from the second row. Other than those, I've always enjoyed this generation XC90 especially for the Bowers and Wilkins.

Volvo has been able to really push out some astounding product. All though the last few years have been rough transitioning from ice to ev. When Geely bought Volvo and said, go back to Sweden, go crazy, spend billions. Make a great car so we can finally be apart of the game. They did and it saved them from Saabs fate.

"Volvo has been able to really push out some astounding product." - I want to add some clarification to your story. Geely bought Volvo Cars from Ford... After that, Geely developed a new SPA platform on which they built this XC90. Therefore, it is not Volvo that needs to be thanked, but Geely for preserving the brand and being able to create a wonderful SUV.

Our 50th anniversary trip we’re driving it all the way down to Italy and then back to Germany to drop it off after 2 1/2 weeks. Bmw lost not having the European delivery program anymore. I love being a bit the order exactly what we want and getting it exactly the way we want. 72 years old and still driving on the autobon. in Germany. Thank you, Volvo for keeping this program open. We’re driving from Gothenburg at the factory all the way down to Italy and then back up to Germany go Volvo.

While the safety tech may not be on par with Volvo's, they've got that twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine and a 13.6-kWh lithium-ion battery with a combined 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque in their favor. Not to mention that velvety smooth-shifting automatic and all-wheel drive.

The entire XC90 platform predates hybrid versions of the car.
It IS primarily for transmission as this model was historically petrol/diesel driven only.
The T8 may well house batteries/motor here, rather than a driveshaft or gearbox housing but it's purely out of convenience rather than by design.
It's making use of a structure that was already there as part of the platform.

Because volvo has not update their light design since 2016 model year, the reverse lights are actually NOT LED, sadly. This makes the visibility pretty bad when it's dark. Also, for some reason, the only change they made to their lights was that they removed one of the rear fog lights. There used to be 2 and now there are 1. IMO, this wasn't a silly choice, im guessing they saved someone money on the LED bulb and just removed it. Could have just turned the reverse lights to LED instead.

The high hump in the car I don’t really like because if someone is sitting in the middle it will be very uncomfortable for them

Cost is the biggest issue with getting the average consumer to get cars like these. ICE cars do cost a lot but its less than the hybrids, PHEV and EV's that's the real problems especially with EV's plus the high insurance rates.

We dont consider Volvo to be "luxury" in Europe.
They are premium, but they wouldn't be seen as luxury here. Thats Bentley, Range Rover and Rolls territory.

Me too but with the plug-in hybrid only EX90 will be a huge failure and sink like a stone in value like all EV’s

The computer needs to be modernized. 2024 we should be expecting larger screen and more Smart Control. Where’s auto pilot?

    • @sandersson2813
      @sandersson2813 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

It has Pilot Assist, it has voice controls, it has Google based system.
Autopilot isn't legal in most places, so why would they waste time and money ?

Just seen the 2024 Infiniti QX60 review. And thats 67k compared to this 87k. And honestly the Infiniti looked a step up luxury than this Volvo. Now for 455 horse and 525 torque and great mileage...well i guess cough up that extra 20k lol

Don’t forget that cvt transmission on the Infiniti. It’s what makes the Infiniti such a piece of crap.
Pay the 20k and avoid the cvt
