Hadn't heard this. I'm bummed but not shocked. As you said, Jabra made great earbuds for those in the know, but I felt like they were always in a weird spot where their price and quality was on par with Sony, Bose, etc, but their notoriety and market share was a lot lower. But they helped drive the TWE market forward and I'm sad they're leaving the market.
Weve hit a plateau for consumer demand in a lot of tech products. These last 3-4 years people upgraded everything as it was fast innovation and now the differences are far less interesting for the general public
You hit everything on the head 1000%..... there's absolutely no reason why companies are gonna get away with charging an arm and a leg for earbuds when we can purchase earbuds 3x cheaper with on par quality sound/features.... the Donner Dobuds are the PERFECT example of where we are in the market 💯💯💯 to prove your point i just purchased the creative outlier air's used for just $13 on ebay.
The market is tough, to actually make the higher end earbuds they are very hard to make cheap but they don’t add enough value over the cheap to make earbuds. So you end up paying twice as much for marginal gains. Makes sense why Jabra wanted to exited. Those headphones are probably expensive to make and they can’t charge enough for it to make sense because people will just buy the cheaper ones.

Best earbuds I've used till this day are the Jabra Elite 75t Active. I'm actually on my third pair and I have tried others. Bought the Sony WF-1000XM4s and returned them. I use a Pixel 8 Pro so I bought the Pixel Buds Pro and returned those as well. I just love the sound foremost and it has all the features I use. I hope they continue selling them or else I might have to get myself another pair just in case.
never had any Jabra's but I always heard great things about them. I think some of the lower priced earbuds even have "everything under the sun" feature wise and while some brands are better than others ... the market is flooded. I am not sure if this news may have Jabra Elites (whatever models) more expensive or less expensive (say on ebay or just great conditioned "like new" pairs) Some of my favorite lower priced brands but ones that have great quality in my view are Tribit, Earfun, and TOZO just off the top of my head.
I think that what this announcement shows is not just a trend but a statement that the gap between cheaper earbuds (say sub-$100) and higher end earbuds (say over $250) is getting smaller and insignificant to consumers. I have used the Pixel Buds Pro and the LinkBuds S and in terms of features and sound quality they do not outrank cheaper earbuds like the Soundcore 4 NC. In fact I feel that the 4 NC has better ANC, transparency, and sound. This is why I have stopped looking at TWS over $120, it doesn't seem you get more for your money compared to cheaper sets; Soundcore and Earfun being great examples. It is also why, in terms of sound, I am always excited to Moondrop release a new pair of earbuds. Sure, the app is not great but even with stock tuning they sound better than other earbuds I have used or tried. I am getting off topic but my point is that the differences between cheap earbuds and higher end earbuds is getting smaller making diminishing-returns hit a lot harder.
I have used Jabra for years now, but I will say that I tried both the Active Elite 8 as well as the 10 and ended up returning both due to defects...twice. My older Jabra's work much better, but now they're getting old and all companies go with the planned obsolescence of their products, so I expect that my current earbuds, that I've had for 3 years, will soon go downhill.
Their planned obsolescence has failed fantastically in my favor! Feb 2020: New PAID pair of Jabra Elite Active 75t May 2020: 1st replacement pair (Jabra Elite Active 75t) Feb 2021: 2nd replacement pair (Jabra Elite Active 75t) Okt 2021: 3rd replacement pair (Jabra Elite 7 Active) Nov 2022: 4th replacement pair (Jabra Elite 7 Active) Okt 2024: 5th replacement pair (Jabra Elite 8 Active) I understand that charging a premium price for a China manufactured product does not work with EU customer laws that forces the warranty (2Y) to renew for every replacement which will of course not be economically viable in the long run when the product always fails within a two year span🙂
A damn shame. Love my Elite 8 Active and may upgrade to the Gen 2 as the headphone jack adapter is very creative. I can now use a pair of earbuds with my Xbox and TV now.
Wow that is crazy - as you say, Jabra has really been on the forefront of truly wireless tech for a long time. Kind of wild they're exiting the market, but business is business and they have to make the decisions they think are best. I am (was?) a HUGE fan of Jabra, owning almost ALL their various TWE starting with the 65T going with all their devices up to the Elite 8 Active. I probably have 10 diff sets of Jabra, and huh - they're going away now. In terms of others that might do this - I see Sennheiser and Jabra as very similar. Both being in Europe, both with many OTHER audio product lines and both have historically asked higher prices for their consumer products. If there are any other dominos to fall in this market, doing the same as Jabra, my money would be on Sennheiser next (and yes I have one of their sets also -- the Momentum Sport). Guess we'll have to wait and see what shakes down....

I've used my first gen 65t active Jabra earbuds untill now, decided to upgrade to 4 active as the batteries getting a little less capable after all these years. They have always made great products.
Honestly true wireless earbuds are at a point where we don't need a new version every year. I still have my lg tone free fit and even though the case is janky since i washed them with some clothes by mistake the earbuds still work flawlessly. The anc is really good, the bass response could be better, but depending on the song they can punch good. Apart from the usual, music, watching movies etc. I also love them when I'm teaching online, as I can hear myself speaking and I don't feel like I'm shouting and of course I can hear the person I'm talking to.
Sucks that they wanna shut it down. They are the best earbuds for me and the only ones I bought over the years. Apples earbuds suck - they always fall out of my ear. Jabra were the only ones premium and the only ones that properly fit and work. Very sad!

A question. Nothing ear (2024) or Jabra Elite 10 Gen 1? This might not be fair in the comparison, but which do you like better and why? I have more emphasis on the sound quality and tuning, but as someone who only has the Sony WH-1000XM5 (honorable mentioned of the Tranya T3s, amazing for years) i can't say i know much in sound quality of earbuds.
Jabra is the only brand that stand tall in sound quality with just SBC/AAC codec. I just got the 10 while 75T still functioning even after 3.5 years. Sad to see them go
Totally agree, I have the Soundcore A40s and they are perfect for me - for the price. I will NOT be trying out any more earbuds or headphones. I have tried more than a dozen earbuds and more than a dozen headphones. I have found the perfect earbuds and set of headphones (Sony XM4). Just repeat buys from here on in. 😊
As having been around since the beginning of tws earbuds and having a pair of the Jabra 65t as one of my first more expensive earbuds, it’s sad to see them moving on from a person aspect but business wise I completely get it.
It is a real shame that this is happening. Unbelievable but understandable when you see that they have Apple,Samsung,Sony,Bose to compete in the premium segment and uncountable brands in the $150 and $100 below segment. I for one would not want to spend so much on TWS since new improvements are expected in future in terms of sound,NC,and a lot of other features.
Sad to see that Jabra bow out on the earbud market. I know they make a good product though I couldn't get a good fit/seal on either the Elite 85t or the Elite 3 that I tried and sent back.
Though I haven't bought this series of Jabra earbuds I've used the 75t and 85t series and those are amazing especially for the sale price you can find them for
Sad day, I started my Jabra journey with the Elite 25e had 3 of the damn things loved it still use em for working out, had a pair of 65t still work absolutely amazing, got a pair of 7 pros still use it till date my favourite pair. Sad to think once those go that's it. Even my dad loved em had a pair of 75t and 85t's
I started to buy cheaper earbuds actually. I used to have Samsung buds, but now I mainly have Tozo earbuds. They sound just as good, the call quality is good enough and they're even more comfortable to wear. The battery life and range are also much better then Samsungs buds. Simplicity is key for me.
bought a pair of their high end earbud elite 85t 2 years ago despite what jabra claims their noise canceling was terrible/ sound quality was so so/ lastly the fit was not good at all. luckily bought it online & was allowed to return & got a refund. at the same shop happen to see Jbl live pro 2 tried it out for half hour & bought it on the spot - totally blown away coz the ANC was excellent & the Jbl could handle everything from music to movie without breaking a sweat. ( the jabra - when watching a bang bang boom movie it just can't handle the bass heavy stuff well one can hear the sound like breaking up)
Jabra is basically doing an LG but for Earbuds. Killing the product line, that made them successful in the first place, albeit jabra did see more success then LG did with their smartphones. Still the same fate in the end.
So should I update my Jabra 5 elite? They work fine. Of course, better ANC and a clearer sound is always welcome. And I would love to connect quickly with 3 different devices.
The Jabra Active Elites were the first pair of true wireless earbuds that I tried years back. They didn’t fit my ears and they kept falling out lol I remember being so pissed. Especially when they advertised how good their fit was.
As earbud competition increases year by year, and stacking on more functionalities become less impressive, it'll be a battle of the ecosystems with Samsung, Apple, Huawei, and Google implementing more OS specific features with their products. Stuff lik AI translation, better ANC, and overall control will become specific to the type of phone you have. I don't really like this direction but it seems to be what's on the horizon
Im guessing they just couldnt keep up with the much wanted ANC in most earbuds, measurements show that their ANC does basically nothing compared to other brands
Just out of curiosity...did you ever test the Jabra 65t Elite earbuds? Why do I ask? I found an intact, hardly used pair in my closet, buried in a long forgotten box. Intact, with everything included in prisons condition. I see many reviews of this set but maybe I missed yours. Did I? Hope to hear from you. A pity Jabra finally bit the dust with its earbuds, but competition is fierce so I understand the company pulling out. 😥 Thanks! ♐
WOW ! My Jabra’s R by far my go2 for all phone calls and on the away from home. This sad news 4 me ! LOL! I can’t imagine a more comfortable design of earbuds 2 replace them with on the current market ?
They will not shell over 300 plus for anc tws earbuds. Too much competition and some high end buds coming in below 200. Tozo Golden X1 comes to mind. Most of Soundcore offerings. At this time quality at a discount price is mandatory.
Premium earbuds won’t make a difference for the average consumer but it will for audiophiles who by buying these pieces compromise a lot of their needs. I’d understand why these companies suffer from these products, but this is the normal result of following Apple in dropping a lot of feature so early in an immature market. Total failure and shameful.
Really too bad. I've followed Jabra from the 65T through the 85T (which are really exceptional earbuds). I also have some refurbished Jabra 7 elite Pro & Active. Great earbuds. The Jabra 7's are what I use when I'm out in the world and the Actives are great for exercise. A sad end to a really class act product line.
Yeah it's pretty sad because their 75ts had some of the best bass you could get in earbuds. Just wish they made more earbuds with similar bass as those
I have the elite 10 and it seems the batteries doesn't last like some say 10 hours, but yes the sound is good and they are comfortable, the anc is good, the calls are ok
Jabra is very comfortable but the problem is that they break easily i have bought many ear buds and they break and or are easy to lose also elite 3 feels more value than elite 4 where as elite 7 active was decent but not epic.its hard on them
offline or online gaming, coz I'm still looking for a wired headphones or ear pod that can do without it's milliseconds lag, example I get killed before hearing the gunshots (online mobile gamine ) CODM
I've bought five different pair of Jabra earbuds over the years because the company I work for has a discount program with them, I really like their products, and i'm sad to see them being discontinued, Keeping it real, I bought a few because sometimes I would lose the pair 😂😫😒... I still would like to get the elite tens, but I don't know if I want to spend over $120 for them ( Especially with my irresponsible self, might end up losing them)
Sad 😔, cuz my Jabra Elite 75t are the best, even better than the new ones. I have the Elite 7 Pro as well. The Elite 75t has just that little extra more bass. Love the sound
Just hearing this after getting my second pair of 10 elites. I debated a few months after i lost one but got the same pair cuz they are that good. Very sad.
Where’s Jaybird? We haven’t anything since the Vista 2… which are my gym pair. I like Jabra but the sucked at staying in my ears. I started with the Rox and still have my 65t but I need Stems or hooks bc I have weird ear holes.
i think so many companies release so many buds that feature wise it was going to have to plateau at some point. I mean i hate to pick on a brand (only have one of theirs, myself) but SoundPeats release so many they could have a market just completing with THEMSELVES .. and of course they are not the only ones. really even a few year old earbuds (I picked up a used-verry good pair of Tribit Flybuds 3 for like $16 total lately) have tons of features people like and while "earbuds from 2020" (i made that year up randomly) ... there is nothing new in "the latest models" that people have to have. Really i have more earbuds than i ever thought i would and mainly that is due to "oh that is a GREAT deal " sort of thing ... not that i have to have more than my first pair ever ... .some TOZO T6s
The fall of Jabra in the TWS segment is normal, and many other brands will have the same fate. Everyone has fallen into the trap of wanting to sell at the same price as Apple, without having Apple's ultra-loyal customer base 🤷🏽♂️ The only ones who will be able to hold out are brands like Samsung, Huawei, Oppo..., which contrary to the prices displayed for their TWS, most often sell them at half price, or attach them to pre-orders/bundle, or even brands like Soundcore, Earfun, Tozo..., who have understood that they are not Apple, and that $100-$150 for TWS is already quite expensive considering the current market.
Over priced earbuds are definitely losing market. If you are not Apple, Sony, Senheisser or Samsung, I would suggest OEMs go for more affordable stuff.
Addio Jabra, Sono estremamente dispiaciuto.
I personally think Jabra makes some of the best sports/durable earbuds on the market and the decision to do this is a very unfortunate one. Now I really hope JayBird gives us a updated Vistas

People talking about quality issues? Ive had mine for nearly 4 years now with no issues. One pair, for 4 years!
Denmark is really up there with Japan when it comes to high end audio systems. I might have to move there after my contract runs out in Sweden.
So what’s the closest equivalent to Jabra
Sad to see they close down this consumer range. I have 2 pairs and I find their quality is really good
So should I update my Jabra 5 elite? They work fine. Of course, better ANC and a clearer sound is always welcome. And I would love to connect quickly with 3 different devices.
The Jabra Active Elites were the first pair of true wireless earbuds that I tried years back. They didn’t fit my ears and they kept falling out lol I remember being so pissed. Especially when they advertised how good their fit was.
Not enough cushion sizes with Jabra. Technics AZ60M2 and AZ80 have 7 sizes on their earbuds.
I will say one thing that makes them stand out is their waterproof earbuds. They are very durable. I even use them in the shower
Thanks! ♐
WOW ! My Jabra’s R by far my go2 for all phone calls and on the away from home. This sad news 4 me ! LOL! I can’t imagine a more comfortable design of earbuds 2 replace them with on the current market ?
Jabra has one of the best engineering
I’m so looking forward to the elite 10 gen 2 but now is it worth buying? I mean will they support it with firmware updates?
They will not shell over 300 plus for anc tws earbuds. Too much competition and some high end buds coming in below 200. Tozo Golden X1 comes to mind. Most of Soundcore offerings. At this time quality at a discount price is mandatory.
would you recommend the soundcore a40 over jabra elite 4? I am in need of some earbuds
I still plan on getting getting elite 10 thank you Jabra for many years of good products
Just bought Jabra Elite 8s. Good buds, but ANC is kind of disappointing. If new gen is significantly better, I'll send them back and try the new ones.
Its always sad to hear news like this. It's a big L for consumers 😢
My first and current wireless earbuds. Love it always
Do you know if they will still do firmware updates? I guess we moving to Bose as they do not have two different divisions at least from what I see
So sad to hear this
Hoping for that someone buys it and re-service it 🙏
Yeah it's pretty sad because their 75ts had some of the best bass you could get in earbuds. Just wish they made more earbuds with similar bass as those
Not only bass but a very good clarity too (when properly EQ'd)
@@geoi6819 agreed
So what they're gonna do if are quitting the market ?
I have the elite 10 and it seems the batteries doesn't last like some say 10 hours, but yes the sound is good and they are comfortable, the anc is good, the calls are ok
Jabra sucked anyways, their earbuds used to mess up all the time, their left ear buds always stopped working
Fact..left master earbud fail
Jabra is very comfortable but the problem is that they break easily i have bought many ear buds and they break and or are easy to lose also elite 3 feels more value than elite 4 where as elite 7 active was decent but not epic.its hard on them
offline or online gaming, coz I'm still looking for a wired headphones or ear pod that can do without it's milliseconds lag, example I get killed before hearing the gunshots (online mobile gamine ) CODM
well at least we're not gonna chase their new flagship products anymore.. the 10's or active 8's MK2 is the final top tier!
Very sad.
Curious, Gen 1 or Gen 2 Elite 10's?
@shaglioni 1
I feel like this is a big mistake on them and they dont realise how popular their headphones are.
Where’s Jaybird? We haven’t anything since the Vista 2… which are my gym pair. I like Jabra but the sucked at staying in my ears. I started with the Rox and still have my 65t but I need Stems or hooks bc I have weird ear holes.
Are they totally just doing away with earbuds or only elite
i think so many companies release so many buds that feature wise it was going to have to plateau at some point.
Everyone has fallen into the trap of wanting to sell at the same price as Apple, without having Apple's ultra-loyal customer base 🤷🏽♂️
The only ones who will be able to hold out are brands like Samsung, Huawei, Oppo..., which contrary to the prices displayed for their TWS, most often sell them at half price, or attach them to pre-orders/bundle, or even brands like Soundcore, Earfun, Tozo..., who have understood that they are not Apple, and that $100-$150 for TWS is already quite expensive considering the current market.
I have the elite 8 active in Gray and I really love them ! I tried the elite 10 but I don't like semi open earbuds just like the air pods pro 2 etc.
I would really appreciate if you can help choose between jabra elite 8 active and somy linkbuds s ? Anc,sound quality, calls exc…
I am an iPhone user but I don’t own AirPods.. but an Jabra 85T… sad to see them go
I just got my elite active 8 gen 2s today. This makes me want to buy a back up pajr 😂😭
Over priced earbuds are definitely losing market. If you are not Apple, Sony, Senheisser or Samsung, I would suggest OEMs go for more affordable stuff.
Addio Jabra,
So many bots.. Anyway this is honeslty just sad. I've recently really considered buying a pair of Elite 10s but now... i don't know.
I personally think Jabra makes some of the best sports/durable earbuds on the market and the decision to do this is a very unfortunate one. Now I really hope JayBird gives us a updated Vistas
I feel JayBird may be the next to have this happen. They make great earbuds too
@@OfficialGamesky I been wondering if they’re even releasing a new Vista at all considering the 2s been out for couple years now
@@BJPerryJr I've wondered the same thing
