    Jabra was one of the brands where they had a product for every price bracket. But what affected them negatively is there were too many models like the active. Hopefully they'll see some profits and get back on track because this is really sad

    Actually surprising given what we know of the profit margins on the vast majority of TWS IEMs. Would've thought this was one of the things keeping the company afloat.

    While I think all their recent buds were still great in terms of functionality, for me buying Jabra buds ended with the 75t for the sound. I didn't like the sound of any successor after the 75t, it just couldn't keep up and I had zero reason to replace them with other Jabras, so I ended up with other brands to get good anc AND punching sound.

    No wonder why JB Hifi were discounting the elite 4s by 50% recently!
    Also, announcing that you are quitting tws earbuds just after you announced your latest ones is one of the worst business tactics you can ever do. Its called the Osborne effect. Nokia had the same fate when it prematurely called symbian phones obsolete in 2011
    Maybe someone buys the blueprints to Jabra tws and continues to make them?

    That’s sad news. Jabra produces good wireless earbuds. My first TWS was elite 65T, then upgraded to elite 75T. While I’ve since changed to Sony wf1000 XM4 and now AirPods Pro 2, I’ve bought elite 5 and 7 Pro for my wife and she’s been using them daily happily. If her Jabra come to end of life, may have to get my wife an AirPod as replacement. I think Jabra current lineup has too many versions and there’s not much difference between each increment model. They should probably just have 3 tiers - budget, mid and top of the line. Right now the line up can be confusing and price differences are quite close. Hope the company bounces back and continue to make products

    Hi Aaron, I hear you. End of an era to be sure. However, from a business standpoint, with the market flooded with wireless earbuds from a vast array of manufacturers these days all competing for the same space at extremely competitive prices, how does one keep the profit margin feasible? R&D costs alone to create an incremental improvement in an earbud must be huge. In order to make it a viable cost or R&D investment, a business must be able to sell huge volumes of the product otherwise its just a waste of resources. Just my two cents. J

    • @aaronloudnwireless
      @aaronloudnwireless  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      They’ve had moderate success early on with 65T and 75T and for good reason, but something happened behind the scenes that led to new products being less attractive. Bigger case, less bass, poorer mics, and poor noise canceling. No amount of marketing dollars could have saved that. It was only with the current 10 and 8 Active when things got much better. Too bad they didnt have the financial stamina to stick it out.

  • @simonyim1012
    @simonyim1012 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I previously owned the 65T and 75T when Jabra was at the frontier of TWS during that era. Since then the later generations have been showing progressive improvements in call quality, ANC, and hifi audio, perhaps at a slower pace compared to the peers. The market profits have a near M-shaped distribution with the top end (USD 300+) dominated by players like Sony and Bose etc. while the lower/mid low end (USD 100) shared by highly cost effective brands like EarFun, Soundcore etc... The Jabra range being perceived as mid tier (USD 100 - 300) seems not able to climb to the top nor being competitive at the low end and therefore continue to be struggling going forward. For instance, it is unlikely to beat Sony and Bose (who have long proven records in hifi audio area)via double or triple R&D investment. It is not happy ending, though the decision made seems to be rational in the business world.

    I am a Sony fan and I tried the xm5 because my elite 85t failed. I was so disappointed with the Sony... The bass and the ANC were so poor! I returned them a.nd bought the elite 10 from Jabra e they are so good, a better sound than Sony and so comfortable! I would pay 500€ for this! Just waiting for your review on gen2 to buy them. It can be better? Please don't die Jabra, you have done an excellent job with this earphones!

    Sigh, bought Jabra elite 8 and 10 for Black Friday, the best earbuds I’ve even owned, and the best fit no doubt. I dunno if anyone else is worthy to wear their crown. Nothing else feels like them. It would be like Porsche leaving the sports car market, nothing would be the same afterwards.

    Hey Aaron, I was about to grab the Jabra 10, but after digging into it yesterday, I found out they’re discontinuing the Elite. You think it's still worth buying, or should I start looking at other brands? Man, I’ve already bought the Bose QC II twice and the QC Ultra once-seriously, all of them were defective. I stopped searching for earbuds for a while, but I really need a pair now. Jabra’s still one of my top picks though.

    • @bijen01
      @bijen01 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Quick question why did you return the sony's and what aspects of the jabra are better than the sony's

    • @riccardoBER
      @riccardoBER 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bijen01 Never enjoyed them. Sound quality is "mid" (you're not buying earbuds if you really care about sound quality) and jabra's one are just as good. touch controls are a nightmare. they glitched all the times (i.e. when I was in the gym the audio sort of desynced for a fraction of a second, I think it had to do with the ANC while moving). Also several times while wearing them my phone only detected one of them, so had to put the other one back in the box, and so on. They broke down after 4 months of use (right earbud went suuuper quiet).
      Jabra's sound as good as the sony, had 0 problems in day to day use, more confortable, and are cheaper too. I still haven't tried the gen 2 as it's not available yet in my country, but I'll buy them asap. As aron said you need in your day to day earbuds that are good across all the categories. jabras were just that. if I want to sit down and listen to high quality music I do it on my speakers, or on with a good pair of big anc headphones

    Ending production, you will always find earbuds to miss some competition. Specially with latest jabra reducing noise in bass range 40dB even with silicone tips, not to mention highs reduction is great too, adding foam tips, they could dethrone sony buds in ANC.

    that's very sad. i love jabras for the small size, not sticking out of the ear much, and the physical buttons. plus the ip rating of the actives is a nice bonus. i don't care about call/mic quality or anc as i don't use them for calls and passive noise reduction of well fitting buds has always been enough for me.
    but the small size and the buttons made jabras stand out so much.
    is there any other brand/model with a similar size and without touch controls? preferably one that also has a decent sound quality?

    I'm using the 5 for phone calls now they are pretty good the only downside is the noise cancelling is non existing.
    I found jabra products to have low build quality.
    The plastic scratches really fast and the paint of the buttons comes off in a couple of months only.
    Battery life is very unpredictable because sometimes you get around 4-5 hrs and sometimes it could be over in 1 or 2😅
    Also their support is bad.
    Every time i have a problem they can't really help.
    I bought the 5 refurbished after disappointing experiences with the 4 and 7 (new) so that the chances of something being wrong should be non existing.
    Still the right earbud has a annoying noise when using ambient or nc mode from the get go.
    Support keeps going over the same steps which was annoying.
    I just stopped after 6 emails and just stopped using the right one.
    Thinking of trying the b&w pi5, 7 s2 or the sony inzone buds

  • @BGwControlStop
    @BGwControlStop 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Actually you talk about enterprise space, In my Big corporate company if i need work from home head sets , web cams or conference microphones i have to order it through a portal and they offer a lot of Jabra products , now i get to see the prices that my business unit is charged when i order these and it is much higher than what you and i pay for them at retail. This means the margins must be a lot higher in the enterprise space because "big companies" don't "shop around" like private shoppers do. Now the prices for basic headsets are in the range of high end premium Bose products without the Same level of quality. Its no surprise they are getting out of the retail space because retail is generally a race to the bottom in thier market segment. They will never be able to command a premium price tag like Sony, Apple, Bose, Sonos. They are competing with Anker, AliExpress, Temu which cannot be profitable.
