Don’t give up man. When I gave it all that I had I jumped 40 followers in a week. I just started man. Gotta be willing to put the time. Not every dollar in your bank but some. I try to play what’s new and hot to stream
I did this last night for the first time, cause most of my views are my vod streams so I decided to be more interactive for them, use my just chatting scenes to open and close my streams and it went really well, I got some people that stopped by probably cause they saw me talking and asked what game I should stream next for my next Let's Play series and overall had really fun and got more views. I highly recommend this tactic for newer streamers cause this works.
This is so awesome! I’m a very introverted person and don’t really know how to make conversation so I was worried about how it was going to go, but your tips really helped me loosen up! Thanks a lot ^^
Thank you for the tips! I'm going to try these out! Just started streaming last week and so far 47/50 followers! Makes me hype everytime people come in!
You killed me on the part saying "And I don't mean literally narrating every single action you taken now I'm walking down the path, and now I'm opening the door! lmao 🤣🤣🤣
Im planning on streaming, but a helpful tip I've seen a lot of friends do is playing online games with a voice chat function. That way, you can talk to your fellow players instead of to just yourself if that scares you (though you don't have to forget to engage with chat if someone does talk there)
I'm autistic and I'm scared of being heard by people or even make any sound. Surprisingly I wanted ti become a streamer and a content creator because I genuinely enjoy such things. Yet my stress is so high when I'm supposed ti start streaming as if my whole world will collapse. And yet here i am watching this video while trying to prove to myself that nothing will go wrong with my stream and there's no need for fear. I think i will watch this video back to back till I successfully calm down. Thank you for a great advice!
A lot of this makes sense - I definitely agree with having a friend join for chat I've recently been streaming Remnant II and have had my friend join on Discord and I have that coming through the stream. People seem to really enjoy listening to the dynamic. Be very careful though that you actually TRUST the person who you are having on stream, you are the one who is responsible for your stream and what is said. I also have other friends I trust, but wouldn't have them on stream because they can be rather thoughless with what they say 😅
A year of streaming and I'm still at 0 viewers. Got so bad, I stopped streaming for a couple months. I want to start over and do this right this time..
„Stop referring to your Viewers as Chat“ YES YES YES! Thank you! I always cringe when a streamer refers to their viewership just as „chat“ Very great video!
Good tips, great video! Helps as a beginner streamer that's for sure. Only thing is, I don't know about anyone else but I was drawn to your eyes and it was so hard to focus! I had to keep snapping myself out to focus back on those tips!
Just started streamin' for fun 'cause why not? Have like a lot of games I never played. ;_; Whenever i have no viewers i try talking about my nooby gameplay or other random stoofs. I'm usually quiet but if someone like talks in the chat thingy I respond to em :'D Actually got 1 legitimate follower. Idk how 'cause I have nothing on my twitch page but my cat pic :') Thanks for the class, Professor Stream :)
Thank you so much for the tips brother I definitely took these tips under consideration under my notes for improvement thank you so much!! Happy streaming!
I feel like these tips only work for certain types of people with very specific personalities. I just don't have it though I've seen so many of these videos and have been on twitch for years and have maybe topped off at 2 people watching/actively chatting..
Sometimes I've found it helpful to talk about an unpopular opinion. Not on something politically or religiously charged, just something inconsequential like, I dunno, putting ketchup in your mac and cheese or liking the 8th Star Wars movie over the others. It's not a huge deal, but it's something that most people watching will have a different opinion on. It's a good tool to just get people engaged who might drop in for a short while.
Art streams are so much fun! 😄 - When I stream 3D Art and Game Development, I usually just try to talk through my process as I'm working - because I don't know about your personal artistic process - but for me, I have an inner monologue with myself working through things - and I just try to vocalize that.
Mental health makes it difficult to make friends, putting in the work, doing everything you say to do, I do, and yet Twitch is a dud. So what is your advice when people actually do these things and still get nothing?
I think it depends, what are you streaming or what is your "usual" content? How long do you stream for a day/week? Do you promote your twitch on other social media sites? Do you want to do it as a job or just for run? The reality is it can often take a long time to start properly growing, can be frustrating but it happens :(
I am doing twitch live streams since 1 year but I don't talk in live intentionally. My dad loves to listen music in full high volume and he uses a speaker. The problem is we live in a rental house, the rooms are very small and we have just drawing room, kitchen, very small and narrow hall and bedroom so the music he listens to will get recorded in my live. My voice is naturally more louder than other people so, if I got excited and screamed or made noises when getting excited during gameplay, the neighbors would complain to the landlord about how much noise pollution I was making. I think I should stop streaming unless I move to a new house where I have solely have my own room, and not share room anymore. Or if anyone have some other ideas, please share
Always look into your microphone recording threshold. You can increase that threshold (in game settings or your recording software like OBS) to get rid of background noise that you don’t want in your stream. Just keep in mind the higher your increase it, the less your mic will pick up and your voice may not record at all levels (as in your voice will need to be a certain decibel to be heard consistently) just play around with the threshold and see if you can get a nice balance where the music won’t be heard. Hope this helps!
You should talk as if you have an audience whether you have viewers or not. If someone stops in your stream and just sees someone with a blank expression on their face playing a game, they're probably going to click away pretty quickly without ever interacting. People want to be entertained - not just watch some person play video games.
"Your viewers are there for you"... FALSE. They are there for content. Some people offer different content, but that does not mean it's the person they are there for. Unless you're a female.
@@moldorm30 thats weird, how people have 1000 vieweers when someone has 240p stream :) Its called supporting their streamers, you dont know what you are talking about so just sip it.
What’s weird is the fact that i usually talk to myself when I’m playing a game, but as soon as i start streaming it feels odd to do it
brooo i act like im streaming when i play a game by myself but when i stream i cant think of anything what to say
Felt
I get that, I can go hours just speaking to myself commentating on the game but when required to speak I freeze up a bit.
more people stayed on my stream when I didn’t speak. I cried bro💀

Thank you so much - I really appreciate that 😄, and I'm glad you found it useful!

@Nugget of Truth That's a great idea! Those make for really good ice breakers in real life 😄 - I always ask people if they like Pineapple on Pizza.
@@StreamScholar I said not politically charged man, you don't want to start a war
@Nugget of Truth 😂😂
Act as if your friends are in the room and just pretend you’re talking to them. Adds a bit of comfort.
Yo ur voice is so cool
Thank you in advance.
So how can any of this apply to someone just starting out, has zero audience, and is an art streamer?
Art streams are so much fun! 😄 - When I stream 3D Art and Game Development, I usually just try to talk through my process as I'm working - because I don't know about your personal artistic process - but for me, I have an inner monologue with myself working through things - and I just try to vocalize that.

Do you have any tips for art streamers too?
i came here everytime i stream but back on silent mode usually random tips is if u can talk just.. type on your own comment section X"D

why does it seem like less people stay when i’m talking 😢
Edit an interesting bit of your stream and post it to TH-cam. Then as you don't know which bit will be posted, you will be talking the entire time
This guy looks like if the kid singing I saw mommy kissing Santa clause grew up.
so I would be a good streamer cause I usually don't know a deamn about the game I'm playing
Looks like you might have an issue with UPS to me
My problem is i use mobile and i don't think they want to watch ne 😢
streaming is the fast track to not being genuine and not enjoying games.
I mean you're not wrong - definitely can be that way. I took an indefinite break from streaming because it was killing my mental health 😅
My voice sucks I’m embarrassed to talk because my ex used to bully me about my voice for 3 years so now I won’t chat on twitch ☹️☹️☹️

Nope. There is alot of streamers that i am there for them regardless of their content. It's called support.
