The 2005 xkr convertible is my dream, I had it for over a year now and I love it
Larry, great story👍. Living the dream. Long may it continue, regards Damian
Interesting piece of memorabilia thanks for sharing
Geoff, no problem, hope you found it interesting, regards Damian
Thank you Damian for the very interesting video. It's a new experience again. It's a vehicle that is rare, I couldn't pay for it either, that's how I am with my "catze" Satisfied and enjoy the Jaguar style. Warm greetings from Germany Udo.
Udo, Greetings for a change cold and wet Wales. Glad you found the video interesting. I wasn’t sure but gave it a try. I am living the alternate Jaguar life, under the car. Still happy, as lots of excuses for video under there, regards Damian
Thanks Damian that's really cool
Alexander, glad you liked it. Worried it was a bit too long, regards Damian
I have one of the 50 hardtops made for the UK there were 50 softops too total 100, mine is a ebony coupe.
Didn't realise they were so rare when I first purchased it 125 coupes and 125 convertible for the US on final year but weren't sold as carbon edition, Most people even Jaguar enthusiasts don't know about them.
Edited as I mixed up the numbers for the countries.
@bespincustompropsbombarta8300, thank you for your comment. So you are one of the lucky ones. Certainly a future collectors item, regards Damian
Wasn't it 100? 50 Coupes; 50 Convertibles? Or was that just for the UK market?
@Freetobe50, you are correct the original carbon fibre special editions was 50 coupe and 50 convertible, RHD UK only. Different markets had different names eg Japan the Black Knight etc, regards Damian
@@FreeToBe50 yes you are correct for the UK it was 50 of each, another 250 went to the u.s. in the final year of production from what I remember but, wasn't sold as the carbon edition even though they were just to get rid of the remaining stock. I believe those were 125 of each oh and obviously they were left hookers.
Thank you Damian for sharing this! The car is a dream, no doubt - as all X100s are - but filling 44 pages with marketing blah blah about a car thats nothing more than a very well spected XKR with one "innovation", the carbon fibre dash, is an outstanding achievment 😄 You can clearly see that they seemed to struggle to sell these cars in 2005... 🙁
Christian, couldn't agree more. Even though its 100% marketing drivel, you can't help admire the photographic artwork, regards Damian
Actually they only made 250 total for the UK market and were 04-05, they were full spec cars with every extra including a phone.
The last year for the x100 was 05-06 those were xkrs to sell what remained and were not full spec unless you opted for everything yourself.
I love all this info! Can you direct me to a link for all the specs on the 2005 Jaguar XK8/XKR Brimbo wheels? I'm trying to get a set of custom-made wheels for my "05 XKR direct from China. I want to make sure all the specs are correct to fit proper.
Roy, check the start of this video for hub specifications, see link below. If you need any more info let us know, regards Damian

@@ODRModurol Thank you. I did not see mention of the 'offset" or "ET". Did I miss it? My wheels are the 'hydra 14 spoke" are these 8&9" or are they 8.5" and 9.5" ? can I go that big?
This XKR is very similar to my Victory Edition except for the much better Recaro seats.
Would anyone know a source for carbon fiber wrap to match the OEM? I want to wrap my overhead console while I recover the header and A-pillars.
Thanks.
Tom, agreed, all the special editions are quite similar as they normally add all the available options as std. Sorry, I don't know a source for carbon fibre wrap that looks like the OEM dash. From memory the OEM dash has quite a good layer of laquer on top, so need to find a very shiny wrap to match that, regards Damian
Thanks Damian. I wouldn't expect to match exactly. I just hope to get close.
Where can I get a brochure?
@Freetobe50, you can find pdf copies of various XK8 brochures including this one on our website. www.modurol.co.uk. Free but donations welcome, regards Damian
@@ODRModurol Great thanks. I'm looking at a Carbon Fibre this week and would like an original brochure if I can get my hands on one! :)
@FreeToBe50, if you can find one they retail at over £50. They come up on eBay from time to time but getting more rare now, regards Damian
Apart of it being carbon fibre there is not a great deal of difference between mine and this one. Apart from costs. This is only my opinion. 🤷♂️
Steven, agree. If fact special editions are 100% a marketing tool. However, it is usually a way to guarantee a top spec car. Interestingly the handling pack wasn’t standard on the carbon fibre coupe’s. Jaguar penny pinching even the warning triangle was extra🤦♂️, regards Damian
Do you have the heated windshield? Does it have a slight gold appearance?
@@ODRModurol I also have the triangle and first aid kit in my car. Spooky 😂😂
Steven, the owner must have pushed the boat out with the triangle.😂 regards Damian
Roy, sorry, not sure what you are asking? Regards Damian
