Short story long, even kids needs to hear the truth no matter how harsh or f'd up it maybe!
Tbh This is just dumb news, the coach said that they were not ready or certified to coach an athlete with special needs. How hard can it be to understand? Teaching someone with special needs requires time, patience, dedication, and love. The coach has no time for it unfortunately
He simply sucks. Thats it. Nothing to do with who he is as a person. He's struggling to do basic cheers and that is destroying the standards of the team.

However, I do understand that the coach didn’t have any experience. When she said didn’t fit the school image though .-. Kinda worded it badly
Naw it’s cause your school cheer Squad is *BUILDED* different and will literally let anyone in cause they feel bad makes me embarrassed of my school did something like that cause they would just mess up and make the school look bad and make the other schools look better
I think it’s sweet the coach tried to let him be on the team to give him a chance. But I do agree with the coach, you need people who can perform and do well with performances, at least she was honest, she made a mistake letting him on the team. This is no ones fault, the boy shouldn’t been let on the team in the first place.
I'm not trying to discriminate anyone with disabilities but I'm tired of people believing that just because they have a disability means they can get and do whatever they want.
I understand where the coach is coming from to a extent because she doesn’t have the qualifications or the experience, but, girl, you knew this when he tried out, or you know you won’t be able to keep him on the team, why would you give him the heart break? :(
I think she may have just wanted to give him a chance or maybe she thought she could teach him at first, but then later down the road she realized she couldn’t do it.
Everyone deserves a chance. Not giving him a chance is illegal. Cutting him because he can't do it is the right thing to do. She said she couldn't teach him to be nice. Maybe he was just lazy, maybe noone can teach him. Either way. No one deserves to be on the team if they can't do it
You're assuming that. With parents that complain because he didn't make the team he will never try his best, ever. He will always expect things to be handed to him.
She doesn't have the qualifications to help with special needs kids, he is unable to learn the routine, they want to appear like their cheer team knows what they're doing. I can't blame the coach, and offering him a manager position was so sweet of her, it's tons of fun to do.
I don’t think he meant the imagine of him probably the image he portraits by that I mean how he dances, just because you have special needs doesn’t mean you get what you want.
We had to do the same when I worked at the YMCA. Our manager had the training/expertise to take care of special needs children, but we didn’t. She was also a manager so she couldn’t help during the entire shift with just one specific child. The breaking point was when he climbed a cabinet about 6-8 feet in the air. We couldn’t reach him and eventually one of our male colleagues was able to catch him. It was very scary. Our manager had to tell the child’s mom that we weren’t equipped with the resources to take care of him. I personally felt like a failure but it was what was best for him. He needed someone to watch him 1 on 1 not be in a group of children where our attention can be diverted easily. Maybe he can join a recreational league of some sort? I wish him the best! He looks like he loves cheering 😊
This isn’t fair! Just because he has a disability doesn’t mean that he should be entitled into getting into a team. So many people work their buts off for tryouts & still don’t get in, he shouldn’t be accepted just because of his needs.
I think she did the right thing, if she doesn't know how to care for someone with special needs it was probably the smartest decision to let him go. Imagine him getting hurt bc she didn't know what to do for him just bc she didn't want to hurt his feelings and tell him he cant join.
That’s not the problem. The problem is he has a disability, and the couch isn’t trained at all for that. I have a disability and I know that when someone has a disability most of the time you need a teacher who is qualified to teach someone with disabilities and has experience.
I find it very suspicious. This precious child with down syndrome. Just happens to want to be a cheerleader and is openly gay. Exactly like his uncle that is his caregiver😢
My cheer team couldn’t allow kids with special needs on it either because the coach wasn’t qualified to work with special needs kids. If they wanted to be on the team they would need a teacher aide at all times which means everyday at practice, every game and competitions. The school wasn’t able to find anyone willing to do that
A real coach would have enough common sense to have him come in a certain parts only. Even a little solo at the end. She simply doesn't know how to coach the rest of them aren't in sync either. Wtf is there excuse?
I have Asperger’s Syndrome, but I don’t feel sorry for him. I am sorry that he has the condition, but it doesn’t take a smart person to see he doesn’t fit in. When I was in school there were things I wanted to do but didn’t because I knew I wouldn’t fit in, even though my mom would say don’t limit yourself. But I knew better.
I support the coach 100 percent. I am a performer in band and cheer and both require everyone to keep in time and be spot on. The kid doesn't even know half of the moves. I know the family is upset because they said he made the team but he was out of place. Bot because if his disability but because he wasn't even in time with the rest of the team, he looked really confused. Just because he has a disability doesn't make him entitled to a spot on the team. The coach was only doing what's right for the team
@@SuperPeterokeven if she had that training she isn’t going to miraculously be able to make him dance well. The kid was spinning around out there like a potato with legs whilst everyone else was in time. Sometimes we just have to accept we aren’t good at everything so we don’t get to participate.
When you have special needs you can’t do everything someone without it can. I’m sorry I’m the one who has to say it but it’s true. I’m not saying that to be rude it’s purely facts. If he practices a whole bunch and really puts effort into it I think he’ll be pretty good at dancing.
I'm sorry. But from the footage shown here, he's clearly not suitable for the task. He's completely out of sync with the rest of the cheerleaders, which ruins the illusion. If any of the other cheerleaders performed in a similar manner, there would be no question that they'd be removed from the team.
I can feel the coaches explanation. She stated that she doesn't have the experience nor the proper tools to deal with a special needs child. I would respect that because it's better than her mistreating him.
As much as it sucks and is unfortunate for him, he needs to come to term with reality and understand that his disability will limit what he can do and achieve. That doesn’t mean he can’t do anything or that he can’t try. As much as people want him to chase his dreams, companies and teams don’t want weak links and want people who can do what’s required. It’s a shame and I hope he can find a club or another school that will give him what he wants, but it’s understandable that they would reject him
Zorg FN indont think it was because of his condition, I thonks that his condition just affected his ability to cheer. If any of the other girls on the team matched his performance, then they would be kicked of too. I think he should pick something where he matches, or almost matches the skill level of the people he is playing with, instead of using his condition has an excuse to get into eveything
The only thing the coach did wrong was letting him on the team in the first place. I don’t want to be rude but she only gave him false hope by saying he passed. Sexuality, race, and gender had nothing to do with this decision. He just lacked the skills required to be a cheerleader. I don’t mean to be rude, sorry if I offended anyone.
For me the only thing she did wrong, she not being honest right away. Is one thing for her to let him on the team, maybe she thought she could handle it, but when she realized she couldn't handle it. She should have sat down with his parents right away and explain the situation, maybe they could have work something out for him. Her just kicking him out of the team and not saying anything at all just hope they would forget about it, is just as bad as not letting him tryout bc he has special needs.
No, you’re right. If we’re talking equal rights, the rules of the tryouts (assuming there were any) should’ve applied to this kid. If he couldn’t pass the tryout, he shouldn’t have been let on just like any other kid.
Honestly tho, why did they let him on the team at all if they knew eventually they would need to let him go.

Everyone deserves a chance. Not giving him a chance is illegal. Cutting him because he can't do it is the right thing to do. She said she couldn't teach him to be nice. Maybe he was just lazy, maybe noone can teach him. Either way. No one deserves to be on the team if they can't do it

She doesn't have the qualifications to help with special needs kids, he is unable to learn the routine, they want to appear like their cheer team knows what they're doing. I can't blame the coach, and offering him a manager position was so sweet of her, it's tons of fun to do.
He shoulda accepted the manager position
This isn’t fair! Just because he has a disability doesn’t mean that he should be entitled into getting into a team. So many people work their buts off for tryouts & still don’t get in, he shouldn’t be accepted just because of his needs.
This is why I’m sometimes jealous of mentally disabled people. Heck, I have Autism and ADHD myself.

I think she did the right thing, if she doesn't know how to care for someone with special needs it was probably the smartest decision to let him go. Imagine him getting hurt bc she didn't know what to do for him just bc she didn't want to hurt his feelings and tell him he cant join.
And instead she ended up hurting him more by outright rejecting him and basically telling him it's because of his disability.

I'm sorry. But from the footage shown here, he's clearly not suitable for the task. He's completely out of sync with the rest of the cheerleaders, which ruins the illusion.
If any of the other cheerleaders performed in a similar manner, there would be no question that they'd be removed from the team.
why did they even accept him in the first place If they knew they'd have to let him go
I can feel the coaches explanation.
It’s a shame and I hope he can find a club or another school that will give him what he wants, but it’s understandable that they would reject him
It’s not his disability, it’s his dancing
Why would they let him in if they know they would do this
I don’t support the LGBTQ community but this is messed up to kick a boy with Down syndrome of a team just because of his condition
Can I ask why don’t u support the lgbt community?
Just because he is “different” it can’t stop them from doing things they wanna do.
no but the mental re-t*rdation will stop "them" from doing whatever "they" want to do
The only thing the coach did wrong was letting him on the team in the first place.
I stand behind the coach decision. She clearly stated she doesn’t have the experience to manage a special needs student and I respect that
She had a VERY valid reason. I wouldn't leave my special needs child with someone untrained.
Honestly the coach is right I don’t think that he should be with this team , he couldn’t even do the moves properly it looked embarrassing for them.
