Hey guys! This video was shot before the pandemic was announced. Currently me and my husband are staying home and working from home. I hope you are all staying safe!!!
You are incredible. Thanks for your videos. Could you tell me how you make Up the model and what do I haber to buy to make up her? Regards from Spain 😊
Jake is an absolute mastermind in his craft - but it's really cool to see your interpretation as well. Also I've been using hard light a lot more in my recent shoots as I got bored in the studio too ... It gives such interesting effects.
Just recently shared your TH-cam and IG with a really good professional MUA that's learning photography. She told me this was the first video she watched.
Hi, Irene 👋 You did an amazing job with the challenging lighting situation. I really enjoyed watching this as it's so different from anything you've ever done before. I love all of the images, but 14:13 is my favorite! Your Canon 85mm lens is the Queen! 👸
Hi I have a Nikon d7500 camera. I wanted to take full body portraits, and the sharpness of full body was important to me Which lens do you think is best for this? Not too expensive? Nikon 50mm 1.8g Nikon 35mm 1.8g Or ...?
Love the video and I totally follow Jake Hicks for his cool color gels photos lol. Super creative! Thank you for your videos they are super helpful and inspiring!
I love your videos. Can you tell me about what size backdrops you are using. That dress and model are so beautiful. I absolutely love your style. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge.
You have always been artistic, but this was really impressive. Hair and makeup was really nice. Even without it, Rebecca is lovely, but you added a lot. Always like your choice of dresses and this was really unique and suitable. Great job on the glass blocks and also on the cardboard cookie. Your studio is small and improvised, but the results are fully professional. Well done.
Window light with blinds adjusted to different widths work well too. And, lace close to the light source is good, and other materials & stuff; How about your blocks with a light blue background and a model in swim wear? Long hair could be tossed by an assistant or blown by a fan. And, with a blue color balance it would give an under water effect (?). In any case, these photos are fine!
Irene, on a mirror-less camera, it is a good idea to keep the opening on the camera pointed down when changing lenses. This avoids dust, hair, whatever falling onto the sensor while the lens is off. To test how dirty your sensor is, put the lens on F16-22 or so, point a bright blue surface, ex use a blue background on a PC screen or so. The use a long shutter (like 1.5sec) and take a pic while moving the camera briskly in a circle. This will then only show the dust and stuff on your sensor. Maybe an idea for a video!! ;-) The test also works for DSLR. Good cleaning kits are available on amazon or so, the wet wipes are best, but the sensor pen with a sticky block is also a good start. You'll also need a sensor magnifying glass, preferably with leds for lighting.
I love the look of the dappled light through the cardboard cutouts, wonder what gauze or Thule would do to diffuse some of the harshness? Would also like to see what a small flash/reflector could do to soften some background shadows. Beautiful results, I’m going to have to try this myself.
Great video, that card board cutout idea is exactly what i planned on doing when we get past the C-19 problem we are having, if not card board some other material that i can place in front of my softbox, I had AlienBee's moonunit kit but never used them and gave them away, now i wish i had kept them, it had stars and other shapes.
Irene, do you ever use live view for your models/clients to see the shots as the session progresses? Sometimes I find they get into the shoot more when they see the images on a nearby monitor. Plus, I can provide coaching "on the fly" about what I'm seeing through the lens... Thoughts?
Did you not have a copy of Gloomhaven to set the bricks on? Although Scythe is a good choice, too, I guess, but I hope you didn't scratch the box since the art is so awesome. Beautiful shots also.
I just adore you for trying different ways , playing with light. As usual all your work shows the delicate , soulful side of yourself.Very creative. Love the last shot of your model. Can you share it with us how did you change the brown to blueish tonality on her sides? It really pops out and matches her skin tonnes . Simply beautiful.
Where have you been hiding? Haven't seen one of your videos for a while. Beautiful video; one of your best ones. Down here in Miami everyone is staying home too so please come up with more ideas. Hope you and your husband go thru this mess of a virus without any problems. Best of luck and one of these days join the caravan of sun birds and do something down here or maybe key west.
Hi Irene!!! In this session how many meters of distance do you have between the background and you? And between the model and you? Thank you for sharing these inspiring videos!
I'll have to try this sometime! Poor little Luna was so confused with all the light spots and shadows whirling around her. :) Personally, I liked the results you got with the DIY cardboard gobo the best.
Great photoshoot and very creative , do you know of a website for free background music, lm a novice photographer but been wanting to add music to video .. with pictures and or video ..
You enspire me every day! You do an amazing job! Love what you do! Unfortunately I only have a Canon 50mm 1.8 so I dont think I could do this low light shooting....
@@IreneRudnyk oh, thanks for your reply! :) Well, I have a Canon Eos M50 and she cant really handle higher ISO really well. Its always getting noisy...But sure, I could try!

Getting to watch art being made. You're like the Bob Ross of photography.
That's the best compliment!! Thank you
Photographer and Model are Gorgeous !!!! Thank you Irene as always
I love it when pros. are mindful of those who can't afford big gear! ❤
Love these techniques. I need to experiment more. I thought the images came out beautiful with your beautiful style of editing!
These pics were soo good!! I def want to try this.
Wow great photography and now you do your own makeup and hair. You rock lady!
very nice work - the cardboard cheese grater thing looked really good... beautiful model and nice makeup job.
I had so much fun, this shoot was a blast :)
It helps that you seem to be a natural! Very minimal stress, because very little direction needed!
Irene, you are so creative. It's always a pleasure watching your vids, I find them inspiring. Two thumbs up!
A really awesome and inspiring project.
One of the many things I love about photography is being creative with reproducing a certain look with a limited budget.
Amazingly simple but stunning output.
Jake is an absolute mastermind in his craft - but it's really cool to see your interpretation as well.
Also I've been using hard light a lot more in my recent shoots as I got bored in the studio too ... It gives such interesting effects.
It has the look of shooting poolside or near a huge aquarium. Nice idea.
Beautiful work! Beautiful model!
The first seated one was the most beautiful thing you have ever done! Like a painting ❤️
I live how creative you are

Love all of them...and I'm so happy that your trying new stuffs but it has irene feel to it do anything that you like❤️❤️❤️
Amazing idea of some different light! Not usual ways are sometimes the most artistic. Great work, Irene, as always!
Hi Irene, what do you think about more powerful lighting like Aputure 300d? Wouldn't it be to much for model's eyes?
the cardboard gobo is ace Irene ,, grate video

I shoot at 1.2 pretty much all the time, dust was never a problem to me.
Nice video liked the gobo you made it worked great also loved your eyelashes looked great.
I love this photo shoot Irene;
I sometimes use a UV or skylight filter with a slight coating of hair spray for a diffuser.
Way better effect with the cardboard than with the glass-blocks 👌
It's amazing technic, i love your creations... ❤️
I love them ...I think they came out beautiful...
❤️❤️❤️
Amazing ! i have a question ,can i make the same effect by using the flash light ?
jake hicks is the magician when it comes to gel lighting.. I read this blog post long back but I coudn't find these glass blocks

En plus d'être photographe tu es aussi maquilleuse, beaucoup de talent j'adore.
That cardboard cut out, phenominal!!
How are you dealing with coronavirus? I’m glad you’re still doing these videos in the midst of this pandemic. It does our hearts good!
This was shot before the pandemic. We are currently staying home and working from home.
These were so beautiful.

Did you use the Mamiya lens with a speedbooster? Or were you just cropping into the medium format lens? Thanks
Mamiya is exactly 80mm on a full frame. No need for a speed booster
@@IreneRudnyk I thought Mamiya predominantly made medium format film cameras?
Great job with bricks. Did you try to add another light with bricks to background for cutting the shadow from model, or this cutting cupboard?
I'm gonna try that next time :)
Did you not have a copy of Gloomhaven to set the bricks on? Although Scythe is a good choice, too, I guess, but I hope you didn't scratch the box since the art is so awesome. Beautiful shots also.

Thanks for the great idea! I’m thinking you can cut the board out with a circuit machine or something too!
Hi Irene!!! In this session how many meters of distance do you have between the background and you? And between the model and you? Thank you for sharing these inspiring videos!
That cardboard cut out was once called a " Cookie Cutter " used mainly to create dappled light on the background.
Actually it's sometimes called a cookie, which is short for cucoloris, which is the actual term.
Cuteness personified 😊
Your photos are amazing!
I actually liked when the cardboard was really close to the model.
Me too! I didn't when I was shooting, but when I edited the pictures I was like damnnnn should have shot those more.
I'll have to try this sometime! Poor little Luna was so confused with all the light spots and shadows whirling around her. :) Personally, I liked the results you got with the DIY cardboard gobo the best.
Where do u buy these dresses ? They are lovely ❤️
very interesting, i like it
try using lace it can make some great shadows. love you shot .
irene can you please tell me which one is your favourite Camera sony a7III or Canon R5...
You can watch my video "answering your frequently asked questions"
@@IreneRudnyk most of the time i saw you with canon r5 and now here sony a7III agan.confused...
So watch the video for an explanation
The cut out screen is called a cucoloris, or cookie, and has been used in the MP industry for years.
nice video Irene! which adapter you using for the mamiya lens?
fotodiox pro m645-sony e
You did a great job, thank you : )
I don’t have a light such as what you used. Can I just use a bright light through the cardboard.
I was right in the community post!
Cute dog!
