  • In today's video I have to do a repair on our John Deere 435 round hay baler. It has a bearing out on the front stagger roller. First I do a walk around again talking about the used John Deere 2750 Cab tractor I just bought. Then back to work on the hay baler. These sealed bearing are the same ones on all the rest of the rollers on this hay baler. These bearings going out can easily cause a fire in the machine catching it and the hay field on fire. Very important to stay on top of these repairs and inspect your machine always.
Afterwards I service the rest of the machine and prepare it to hook up to the new tractor. I must move the baler monitor into the other tractor first.

at 15 I would be in heaven working with someone like you. Kudos! 1985 Deere with a radio...probably doesn't have the 8track player. Kid.."What music do you play in this tractor"? James..."Both kinds; Country AND Western". Blues Brothers!

You scored big with that JD 2750. We have had the very same bearing go out twice on our round baler. They are a sealed bearing that has no grease fitting. We had another bearing go bad and lucky the nephew was baling at night and he saw the bearing glowing red. He stopped and lucky the baler didn't go up in flames. I wish they had grease fittings on these as the only fix they say is to drill a tiny hole in the side of the bearing and inject grease and then seal up the hole somehow.

Hey James I have nothing but respect for you. Most people don’t understand how much knowledge a farmer or rancher needs to successfully run the business. And thank you for passing your knowledge on to young Michael this is stuff you can’t learn in any school. God bless you brother!

Use your infrared gun to check bearings that are sealed and hard to get to while running .to see witch ones are hotter than others . Lol but I'm sure you know that 😉 I have rebuilt a couple burned bailers .
