Hey, hope you’re doing well! I saw that this keyboard sounded more “thocky” then the other Gmk gray wood v3 keyboard that you’ve made, and I want to ask you what are the differences between the two, also, thank you very much for answering all of my questions so far, i really appreciate it and you helped me a lot!
Hey! This one is more thocky because of the keycaps. These are XDA profile. The other one is Cherry Profile Keycaps. Watch my keycap comparison video here th-cam.com/video/9Quy0BbSN6s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yJTKs13KlTkepYF0

does it change a lot if i use grease lube to the switches too or does it barely make a difference if i use a grease instead of oil? btw sorry for spamming questions like these
No problem! I like answering them, and from my experience the grease works better for the switches, I only use the oil for the springs nowadays. But never use grease for the springs, it makes them mushy
do you think i can use a different gmk 67 and get the same "thock"? do you recommend any budget ones too? (below 80$) also is the aliexpress screenshot you took was the one you bought? if not the can you provide a link to what we are seeing in the video
Hey yes the AliExpress screenshot is the one I bought, the link in the description. You can definitely make one that is this thocky with a GMK67. It looks like it’s $32 right now
hi there man, i just finished building my gmk67 but i face with a problem, when i plug the 2.4 usb to my pc and try turning it off, the screen is stuck on the loading page and it just keep spining and spining and wont shutdown, but its fine when i use the cable that they provide, it just only the 2.4 wireless usb, idk why this happen and idk how to fix it
Hey I have not seen this issue before. It only happens when the 2.4 USB is plugged in? The computer does not turn off. Try using the software to reset the keyboard. Not sure if this will work but it’s worth a try
I have not tested this, it would definitely take a while to test. On research it states 15-20 hours with RGB and 20 days without RGB. From my experience the battery life on this is great. And those specs sound about right. I rarely charge it. I use mine on 2.4 GHz wireless as well. Hope this helps!
Hey great video! One thing I loved with the editing was the sound of the keyboard when the text was appearing on the screen, was that you just syncing the sounds up indivudally or is there a piece of software that does that? I love that typing effect.
Wow. This is amazing. Just got my board (Keychron V1) and my switches (Akko Lavenders) any tips on how to make that board thocky? I've been struggling with modding.
I noticed the biggest things that give thocky is using tall keycaps and the tape mod. I don’t have the keychron v1 so not sure if these will work but it’s worth a try
Hey, I made a Keychron V1 1 build myself and was able to get it pretty damn thocky. My best tips would be to remove the silicone dampener (believe it or not, those actually make the board clack), replace it with a crap ton of foam, and tape mod it. If you can, you can also do the PE foam mod (I don't have thin PE foam so I can't really do this), and you should honestly be fine. And make sure to lube your switches too if you can, those help. Hope this helps :)
Haha no problem, lemme know if you need anything else :) I'll probably also post a video about that in the next couple months, so stay tuned for that.@@o_poseidqn
It shouldn’t have a rattle, the stabs are solid once you level it and lube them. Try taking them out to see where the rattle is coming from, it’s possible you might need a bandaid mod or holee mod for yours
