    Thanks for the video. I'm thinking about getting into Movo but I'm not an illustrator and I'm glad I would be able to import images into illustrator and trace them and then import them into Moho

      @erikniells4686 ปีที่แล้ว

      True, but Moho would allow you to do the tracing just as well without the intermediate step. But whatever is most comfortable.

    For non-illustrator users, the Affinity Designer will export the same kind of vector images with the SVG option (tick flatten transforms) and import into moho. Moho's drawing tools are great but as soon as you need holes or booleans then you are best using something else. Affinity Designer 2 is absolutely fantastic and does 90% of what what you can do in illustrator and the same copy works on windows, mac and ipad - oh and the price is silly :-) No subscriptions - best moho companion :-)

    Hello, the size of the page in adobe illustrator is 1600px X 900px and in moho is 1600px X 900px but why in moho when i import the size became smaler ? must be the same size why is this

    • @erikniells4686

      The artboard isn't used by SVG (or by an AI 8 export). It's vector, you can resize it in Moho. If you want to keep the dimensions, make a filled rectangle the size of the artboard and align it to the artboard. Put it in back of everything else. Export as SVG, import into Moho. Delete that rectangle. Probably won't come in filling the stage, I don't know. But you can resize it proportionally so that the rectangle fills your Moho stage and it will be the right size.

      @@SquareBearStudio the image doesn't import. I checked the way its shown in the video and did everything that you did, but when I went to import the svg the workspace was blank and there was no new image, vector or layer.

      If you’re on Facebook, join us at the Moho Character Animators group. I’d have to see the SVG file to know much more about it, that’s not easy on a TH-cam chat. On Facebook it’s easy to share files even with just one person (like me).

    You can export it as psd retaining all layers and colors - best solution!

    • @SquareBearStudio

      You lose your vectors. If you are planning a bone rigged vector model it completely defeats the purpose.

    Hi Eric, thanks so much for this excellent in-depth tutorial. One tiny suggestion: it would be great to have a review of the steps to export the best format SVG (style) file at the end of the video. I was doing a lot of searching at the beginning of the video so I could make notes of the method. But it was fantastic information.

    How import in moho a layer with degraded?

    • @SquareBearStudio
      @SquareBearStudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m sorry, I’m not sure what you mean “with degraded”. If it looks bad, you may need to go to Display Settings and turn off GPU Acceleration. If you mean bring in the file as layers, you need to export layers separately. There is a script that will allow you to export all layers from Illustrator as individual SVG files, search Google for it (it is on Github). But they will not import looking like they did, all items will center and be in a stack. From there, you can move them in place. Or you can create a rectangle that is big enough to contain all the art on all the layers. Then copy and paste in place to every layer before exporting. That will keep everything in place when you import. Then you have to go layer by layer and delete the rectangle. I really need to do a tutorial on that, I’m not sure that is a good enough explanation.

    hi, tanQ for tutorial i have question! i make my character in adobe illustrator and import it in Moho (SVG file) but i can not rigg and make bons!!! what can i do?

    • @SquareBearStudio
      @SquareBearStudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zohre Kazemi that’s a more basic question. I recommend starting in the Tutorials manual and do the parts on rigging. I did a basic intro to this as well: m.th-cam.com/video/8Tl4soxhQrQ/w-d-xo.html
