I am glad Joanne got to eat some food she really liked. Great video. Love her blue dress in the beginning. I would eat the onion soup, the portobello mushroom and yhe short ribs.
Thank you very much! 😊 The reason the speed on the menu is a bit faster here is because the common items menu was already shown in part 1, but will look to slow it down for the next one.
Thank you so much for including Gluten Free options. For us that have medical conditions that prevent us for restrictions as a choice but as a need. Your info is so valuable! Thanks again. Also fun to see the boy growing so fast! Lol
You're very welcome- thanks for the comment! Happy to hear that the gluten-free denotations are helpful. 😊 Yeah the little guy is now not so little anymore lol!
This was a wonderful video. Thank you! All the food looked very appetizing and delicious. Plus, your in-depth reviews are perfect. Thank you so much for all your efforts!
Another great video. Personally, I thought that there would be more selection. I think that I am going to hold off on MSC until they get the new ship in Galveston. At that point, maybe we will do a back to back with another cruise line. Three more weeks until Alaska.
Thanks JL! 😊 Yeah the selection is not the best for MDR dinner. And yes apparently they will have the Seascape home port in Galveston- too bad not the World America. Have a great time in Alaska!
Do you guys really order one of everything? And does she eat all of it or just a bite or two? She must workout a lot because she sure doesn't look like she eats that much!!! Love the videos, really helps me plan ahead!!!
Thank you very much- glad they're helpful! 😊 We do share the food between the 3 of us (2 adults and a hungry teen), but Joann usually eats most or all of the entree she orders after she has a taste of the dishes.
@@TravelTouristVideos thanks for your help. Are there a lot of asian foods? I afraid last tjme when we went on Carnival cruise after 3 days we were sick of their foods and just wanted to eat mì gói (instance noodles). Maybe it was just us for not knowing how to order on the menu. 😀
Looks good. I'm not a big fan of non-soup entrees being served in that weird hybrid 'plate with a bowl in the middle'. You can't fit a decent sized entree in there. But $5 for additional entrees is reasonable. Were you locked into 5:30 dining? or could you dine when you wanted (freestyle)?
We were actually locked into a later seating, but were able to have it changed before the first dinner. It was tough though- the host didn't want to accommodate because the ship was jam packed, but did because we were Diamond (via status matching). We were sat at table for 2 as that was the only one available. Apparently no matter what your preference is for dinner time, they will lock you into the late seating if you do the "Bella Experience", which is the least expensive level. But it's certainly worth a shot to go to the host an hour before dinner starts on the first night to try to change it.
Your new Subs here (NY resident). I’m going on this ship on the 20th of Oct. I’m on De Luxe Balcony. Any tips on embarkation experience? I was scheduled for 1:30 but can I be taken in earlier? Thumbs up, now I know what to order?
@@lzu2860 Yeah one thing we wish we knew was that the buffet closed at 2 PM on embarkation as the ship left at 3. So if I were you, I'd try to get to the port to get aboard as soon as possible if you want to make the buffet lunch. It's not a problem to show up earlier. Thanks for subbing, and have a great cruise!
I think i just copy all your dishes in my phone and show it to the waitress or waitor because i don’t think i know by reading the menu.😅. Thanks for your nicest video.
Yes you can. Since I don't care much about any seafood, I would be stuffing myself with appetizers and deserts. I just don't get how people can eat raw beef too. 🤢
I gave a thumbs up on your Buffett video. But it drove me up the wall after a while that you have her comment on every food that she orders. And of course that's a personal taste. I wouldn't mind if it was once in awhile after everything she orders
Thanks for the thumbs up and the feedback! 🙂 Yeah many of our viewers do want to know, even though it's very subjective, how some of the dishes tasted. At the end of many of our main dining videos we do have a quick rundown of all the dishes shown if that helps.
Exactly. In the old days, there was no such thing as “specialty dining” restaurants because it wasn’t needed. You had all the delicious, well-prepared food right there in the main dining hall. Lobster tails could often be seen in the buffet, and no one ever thought anything about it. Today they want to charge you $20 extra just to toss a burger and fries at you.
That is cheap for MSC to charge extra if you order a second main meal , they should be giving more to passengers then taking things away from them to make a few more bucks- what’s next you can only go to the buffet once and they might charge if you go a second-
That is certainly nickel-and-diming, though considering their low cruise prices (i.e. over a thousand dollars or two vs other lines), we thought it wasn't a big deal.
I sailed on this ship a few times and I'm glad they start charging for second entrees. I've seen ridiculous waste of food where people order three entrees and barely touches it. At the end the table is filled with almost full plates of food which the crew has to throw out. For the prices that they charge, they should be doing this all along.
Great introduction! Love the tips and hacks you proposed here. Yes, as we discussed in one of your previous videos, the $5 charge for extra entrees beyond your first is unfortunate. On the flip side, most people (at least the sane ones) aren’t going to order more than two entrees at dinner anyway. So it’s something to budget and plan for. I like the concept in that it reduces food waste. It also prevents people like me from over-indulging! 😂 Great hack idea for the lobster tail on lobster night, although my only hesitation with that is the fact that it looks like those tails came from warm water lobsters, which are nowhere near as tasty as those that come from Main lobsters. They’re also not as expensive, so it makes no sense to me how they could charge $20 for those. In my opinion, they’re not worth more than $5! That salmon did look good, but I agree with Joann that the rice needed some kind of sauce. For me, a pat of butter would have made it perfect. Um, that New York steak was not medium rare! I could hear it mooing!😂 That filet mignon did not look high quality. Lots of things here I know I would enjoy. I think as long as they don’t charge extra for extra starter dishes, I would just order several of those in addition to my one entree. You guys are the best! ~Scott
Yeah that $5 charge is nickel-and-diming for sure, though considering the really good rate on the cruise, it was worth it for some dishes. Lol yeah their MDR steaks weren't the most accurately cooked, but they did a good job of bringing another one that would be thankfully. Always enjoy reading your comment on the food Scott- thanks! 😊
Yeah definitely not as many choices as Carnival, though we have to give MSC props for a huge leap in MDR dinner food quality since 5 or 6 years ago. Noise at the restaurant was pretty extreme, however. We never experienced MDR so loud at dinner.
She should do restaurant reviews. She really evokes the experience of trying the food. These are really good!
Thank you very much- glad you enjoyed the reviews! 😊
Honestly the food does look good. All cruises lines have hit or miss items in the dining room. I really like your honest reviews. Thanks.
Our pleasure George- thanks for watching & comment! 😊
Thank you! Enjoy the honest reviews of the food.

Always love your videos! It would be nice if the menus didn't disappear so fast, but thanks for the helpful reviews!

yummy yum yum. i am soooooo hungry now. it is my understanding that intense flavor and small amounts is better than large bland meals.
They had some tasty dishes- kudos to the chefs & cooks in the galley!
Thanks for the info!

Looks delicious, for $5.00 for the second entrée it is still worth it.
Happy wife happy life.
Thanks JT! 😊 Yeah $5 extra certainly worth it for some nights.
Ìf you ordered extra cake or ice cream does it cost extra $5 too?
@@nile7014 Nope those would be free

where is she a chef at in NY?
Cruises used to be all inclusive, but the move to nickel and diming everything is too bad.

My FOMO would kick in so bad and I'd just end up eating way way too much on a cruise
MSC cruises's European menus are so bad in comparison. No available nightly offerings. Not as many entrees or appetizers 😢

The food on MSC was horrible.
