Good Morning Chief. Good video. Its very exciting see the condition of the Base at that time. Unfortunately i dont have the opportunity to see that part of the Navy activity on Roosevelt Road Base. Right now are almost totally abandoned. Im stationed on PR. Very respectfully
At the end is a P-3C Orion antisubmarine warfare aircraft. I served on those from 1990-1995 and did a 6 month deployment to Roosevelt Roads in 1993. My friend was there a couple weeks ago and actually went to our old barracks. Not only is it overgrown but the jungle grew up and over it and is covering it. My friend was like (while filming) "Over there was the mini mart. And over there was the porch, etc. etc." and meanwhile you can't see one damn thing. Looks like a building was built in the jungle. You couldn't see the roads, buildings etc. etc. Very sad to see.
Thanks for the comments. It is always interesting reading of others experiences. We may have been at Roosy Roads at the same time in '93 on HMCS Algonquin.
@@OldNavyChief_314 You're welcome Chief & you may be right. I have nothing but great memories of being there. I could not believe how far the BEQ was to the hangar. Our squadron ran a bus for shift changes to get back & forth. Unfortunately I never got a chance to get off base but I was content with all the amenities there.

Thank you Joel for the comment, Roosy Roads and Puerto Rico were a big part of many Canadian Sailors back in the day.
