- I bought my dream spec L322 Range Rover in Giverny Green for just £2,000. Today, my first batch of parts has arrived and I'm tackling a few of the little issues with the car...

2,000 likes on this video and I'll take the Range Rover off-roading 😀
Rock crawls and mud slides...then a river crossing. If I can regularly do it in my X5, I'm sure you can in the Range Rover. 😂
@ I really want to try it!
3000 likes and you’ll promise never to go to a car wash again…
Get those knocking control arms done before you venture off road
Great job. I’m not a mechanic but doing the jobs you have done are what I would tackle myself to my TD6 which is very satisfying
Great videos Joel. Keep it up. Love how you do everyday cars that are within reach of most people. Makes it more interesting 👏
Regarding the rear tailgate straps, if you get a pick behind the rubber and peel it back, you'll find the 10mm bolts securing them to the car.
Couple of nice straightforward jobs that have made a world of difference with the day to day living of this! Nicely done!
@@ItsDanLatham thanks mate. I’m looking forward to sorting the steering column and getting those parking sensors sorted!
Sunroof recalibration on bmw can be done by holding the button open for a complete open cycle and close cycle. I wonder if that’s the same for the RR?
The wheels and infact the whole car looks a real stunner. I wouldn't change a thing✌🏾
Yeah I agree with others, that car is a great spec 👍😍
4:50 'woooaah, it went flying!!' 😂😂😂 we've all been there 😅
Another DIY Joel! Keep it going!!!!
rear tailgate supports are easy as. Just peel the rubber domed covers back and undo the bolts - fixed into captive threaded holes
Was painful to watch😂
Agreed. If the rubbers are stiff (ooh, err...) and inflexible a warm up with a hair dryer can make the job easier.
No need for new parking sensors, just remove the corrosion and spraypaint them lightly. That fixed mine.
before you replace the parking sensors, spray WD40 all over them, leave for a while, wipe off excess and try them out. Ive got sensors working again on an E60 BMW and and ML270. Worth a go.
Lovely colour and interior ❤❤I would love to see you fix the rear tailgate. Looking forward to part 2. Have a great week Joel.
Thank you! You too!
Loving that you've got another M62 L322. They sound impeccable 👌 the lower tailgate struts look like a pain in the arse.
Hi Joel, It is very satisfying when you’re able to sort these problems yourself.
Another informative video on the L322. I replaced struts last year and yes I concur with previous comments just peel back the protective covers and the rest should be straightforward(?). Coincidentally I also a problem with the passenger cup holder, although it has a base the base spring(?) is broken drinks fall through as well! This is job ‘100’ and job ‘101’ is similar to your vehicles wind noise at 60-70mph, although I haven’t been through a car wash so mine maybe the ‘bonnet shuttle’. I’ll follow your other vids with interest.
...oh, and FFS stay away from car washes... especially in that thing, they're likely going to dismantle it faster than CoPart...
The new car wash at my local Tesco has the following at the entrance: "WARNING: Land Rover & Range Rover vehicles should not use automatic car washes".
Seems Joel may not be the first to experience problems after putting his car through one!
Great comment 😂 I couldn't agree more to be honest
❤😂🎉😊
Keep the wheels and tyres. Spot on ❤
Sounds lovely ❤😊
Great work! Its a beautiful car and getting the attention it deserves. With tue wheels I'd personally go back to a period correct stabdard set, it would add more class back in.
Hi Joel I’m loving your l322 vids 👌I noticed yours has got flappy paddles ? Mine is a 2004 but no paddles cheers
I have to say the wheels really do look good. Yes it's not a SC range rover, but the SC wheels look good regardless
I agree
Enjoyed this Joel! Good vids keep them coming and even though I don’t own a L322, I feel like a can maintain one! Tom Lenthall - move aside…
Nice one Joel! Looking forward to this series.
There will be 😊😊
Definitely take it back to original with the wheels and door handles, will look great. Yeh car washes are terrible, broke my mirror in my L320, never again!
Hi Joel I also bought the same model RR in the same colour, spec and engine last year with only 113K miles. I noticed in your first episode you mentioned a strange droning sound when driving I have the same problem along with the gear selector lights not always engaging. Will good to find out what you think it is. Also the radio only plays with the ignition on only. Sounds like you have similar problems, but I agree with you it is a relaxing car to drive.
10:40 said the vicar to the actress!!
Big job? 😂
Just 2 bolts to undo!
Takes a couple of minutes to change the tailgate straps Joel! 😊
I was thinking it was more complicated than it is!
You can also add a hydrologic strut to the lower tailgate which was added to the 2010-2012 facelift as a kit.
Check the fuse for the steering column, cant remember the fuse number, Simon at Powerful UK has done a video on the steering column pretty sure he says which fuse it is👍🏻
If it recurs , When recirculating flaps are closed they can vibrate and cause that noise. There is a fix from LR where some foam strips are put on the flaps
enjoying your content, I’m in the market for an L322 in Giverny green too trying to find the Jag 4.4 V8! like matts high peak autos one! in the meanwhile im driving my D2S8
The interior is crazy nice man
I love it
The wheels look great, I'd change the door handles, though. Love the car!
It's a fix Joel 😊👍👌😎
Looking like your going off roading Joel........dont disappointed us
Likes not views.
I'd keep the wheels, they look good in it. But I, personally, would prefer body matching door handles.
Lovely motor, Joel. Comfy seats and ski hatch - got to be an Alpine road trip on the cards.
If you wanted to tidy up that cup holder, I’d recommend scotch brighting the surface to get a key and then giving it a spray with Foliatec interior Matt black spray. It’ll look brand new then.
Hey mate! Got a td6 from the same year, I love that machine. Just to let you know that you helped me with the sunroof issue in that video and thank you for that ;) imo I like it how it look now, maybe the door handles could be a nice touch, mine is black so it’s quite dull I. Comparison. Although I need maybe your help, someone broke my rear light plexi, do I have to replace the whole unit or can I just change the plexiglass protecting the lights…that would be less costly I guess haha thank you and keep these videos coming, l322 world is always a nice place to be.
The door handles were never body coloured and were grey from factory! Keep the wheels they are the best design and give the car a better look! 😊
They were body coloured on the 2012 model year.
@ yeah on the last models! 👍
Good videos you make, but I don't understand why you don't clean the items you put in - it's much easier when you have it out anyway, and will also make your videos more interesting to watch.
Tailgate straps = pull back or cut off the rubber boots to expose a hex bolt head. Undo and remove. Replace with new. I’d soak the existing ones with plus gas for a day or two.
Thanks!
Remove and test fuses before buying new electrical parts.
Would benefit massively of a full set of new wheel nuts
You’re like me, you notice the details! Treated my old 911 to a new set of wheel bolts. Shiny and very noticeable (to me anyway).
Use a hair dryer or heat gun with great care to warm up and soften the tailgate strap rubber covers. Then peel them back.
Just get some tape and tape it all around the window and see if it disappears
I like the way it looks personally mate .
@@MrSimonfoz I think it’s growing on me the way it is now
Clean that steering wheel, leather should never be shiny Joel.
Which years did the RR Td6 with the straight 6 Bmw come out??? I'm interested in it, thanks, nice videos.
If you cant lossen two bolts on the rear tailgate stays leave the rest of it alone
If you can't find 'how to's on YT, there are manufacturer shop repair manuals you can get online, I think they might cost 20€ or something. I'm 100% sure you could do it with that Joel. You might need more professional tools with time, but maybe look those up second hand? Or get cheap ones to begin with? I would personally go that way at home. On YT, I might just get a pro set, like Sonic tools. This is exciting! You're doing what I would be doing if I had some extra cash laying around.
There is no nuts on it just undo and replace it it easer the the cup holder
Just pull the rubbers back, the bolt heads are underneath
@@marksimpson9223 that sounds way easier than I thought it would be! I’ll do it in the next episode then
4:39 interesting how rusty it is behind the dash. Changed my docking for the venture cam a few weeks ago just to find the same view on rust. Is this usually the case with L322s?
Sunroof = press and hold tilt until it clicks and resets angle. No code reader needed
Great tip!
You need four things on that Rangie - mudflaps.
You didnt fancy buying a cup holder with no wear on it?
Bit of a shame that isn’t it. The one I took out was in better condition!
Regarding sunroof, on my L322 I have to slide control button forward, but sunroof wount close, doing same thing as yours. In order to close it, I have to push control button, when sunroof is half closed.
How is the engine doing, because if I were u I would swap M57 from BMW
Swap car or just engine?
Tell us more about those paddle shifter on the steering wheel…
Paddle make gears go up. Paddle makes gears go down.
There were no paddle shifter on those years…
Android head unit with CarPlay make a world of difference
I’ve found a company that can integrate Apple car play into the original system. I’m tempted to go for that
A TH-camr should know to TH-cam anything....2 mins 30 secs in all is revealed...
'Range Rover L322 Lower Tail Gate'
Regarding travelling at 60 rather than 70 on a dual carriageway, I have a pick up truck and notice that my fuel economy is better at 60mph than 70mph. Simple aerodynamics.
@@DrBenWiles yes, on a run it will do around 20mpg
Lower straps have welded nuts inside and the bolts just undo under the rubber cups
@@keithvers569 thank you
Is part two going to be like the XC90 videos? 😂😂😂
not quite as extreme!
Joel would you consider selling this unit & sending over to Kenya?
you must work for the UN.
Are you retarded ? It’s took him ages to find the one he wants why would he want to send it thousands of miles away
@@donaldkomoro2676 why would he want to send it to Kenya you melt ?
@xman777b to do what?
Leave the wheels, they are the most desirable ones. The rear lights just pop out, easy to do.
Parking sensors on a hatchback or estate - wtf? The car ends a little bit beyond the rear screen. For the front, I agree, but only if you can't work the size of it out (then again, if you don't know the size of what you're driving - should you be driving it relying on automation?).
Calm down
When’s the Maserati update vid coming, Joel???
As soon as I can get a date set with Ash @ exotic and Supercar!
No you don't have to remove the lights to cha ge the lower tailgate restraints, pull back the rubber cover and slide it down the wire, that will expose the bolt for the wire mount.
Thank you
Man we need more challenges even if it's 500£..
It looks fine with them wheels and door don't waste your money, but please get them strap changed on tail gate please just remove the rear lights its not a massive job. Why would buy new parts and then not use them.
Apparently I don’t even need to remove the rear lights!
@@tunnel7 straps got nothing to do with the lights! 😊
I thought you'd given up. Nope, I was unsubscribed by TH-cam.
I've got some catching up to do.
Classic! TH-cam is terrible at recommending these days
I like L322 but only the early models with BMW engines. I have a L322 with m57 engine and is high spec car as well. I have owned it for two years now. One of my headlights was not putting out good light so i changed projectors in them. Very easy to do compared to e39. It is a easy car to work on. Like the content, keep up the good work.👍
Thanks for watching
Hi Joel , I’ve just purchased an L332 collect from Barnstable on Saturday! Excited is an understatement 😊
It’s a 2004 vogue TD6 Blsck on black leather (all dark trim ) which I prefer … comes from a well to do family and famous restaurant owner before that , test drove it and it pulls well and no gearbox issues … just a good clean and service… I paid just £1200 !!🎉
Thanks for these videos… I’m leaning and picking up tips ..
Top lad thanks
Paz 😎
Enjoy it!
You must arrange an ‘ L322 ‘ event for the likes of measly peasants !! 😂 do it and I’ll bring my music /turntables and a Bbq 😂👊😎
So since that Maserati video with the faulty oil pressure sensor a month ago, you’ve bought 3 other cars and we’re none the wiser as to what’s happening with the Masser? It’s getting a bit confusing following the channel but others seem to like it.
@@jf9601 Maserati is at exotic and Supercar, been waiting for a date to get the work done. oil pump is now on order, so I will be filming with that as soon as possible…
👍
2000 for the car and 40 for cup holder Wow
@@tunnel7 worth every penny
What is the L322 fascination with CarTubers lately? Seems like everyone has bought one.
Dont use screwdrivers on trim u melt 😅 get a cheap set of trim tools
All the muck stuck to the back of the indicator stalk and steering wheel paddles made my teeth itch. Get that interior cleaned properly before you catch a disease! 🤣
Get some rear mud flaps , always looks funny when they’re missing 🤔good vids pal👍
Get out my filming location! ;)
"I don't know how that happened" well take a look at the leading edge of the bonnet... I think you'll find it says "Range Rover" and that's your answer right there...now if it said Toyota it's likely that wouldn't be needing that tow truck you are inevitably going to call shortly...
The classic naysayer comment. I’ve had three L322 range rovers now and never been left stranded!
40 quid for a cupholder !!
I didn’t think that was too bad!
@itsjoel yeah but you're not the one using it. The passenger is 😅
I can’t believe you didn’t clean or else repaint that tailgate finisher before you clipped it in ?? Shame on you !
Shameful behaviour
Can u and Ben rayne do a little combo and show us your l322s. Maybe a few challenges ect
@@megamoose199 I’m sure something can be arranged
Ik wist niet dat je met praatjes je auto kan maken.
Car wash 😳
Always great to see what your up to. BUT PLEASE .......try not to go the over trodden UTUBE path of pained facial expressions and brightly coloured hoodies .........Always brilliant content and appreciation on how hard your growing the channel......
Personally I dislike any car so new that the darned thing automatically connects to the net all the time.
This is presumably pre all that nonsense?
“Dream spec” hopefully not sold in 3 months like the rest of “TH-camrs” do, she’s tidy.
Please no more L322s! Been done to death!
What a waste of money that rust bucket is 😂
