In each short film, you hear a small snippet of their solo songs. (For example, the piano and strings you mentioned in Suga’s is actually the song, amazing song that makes me emotional every time I listen to it) I would love if you listened to their solo songs after because they sort of relate to the BU while also their own personal experiences (as many songs are). The writings in Korean are actually lyrics from their solo songs. Plus, you’d be able to see the personality of each member, instead of just the rappers. 22:10 this can be connected/traced to the fact that it was Jungkook that got hit by the car and not Suga. And the first video Begin with the whistle was Jungkook's video. And it was Suga's piano that started to burn in Jungkook's video. It was Suga's photo that was dripping with paint in the first short film and it began to burn too! And in the 'I Need You' music video it was Suga that has the lighter and he lit his room on fire with him inside. This is all connected and I love the BU so much because of the attention to detail and metaphors weaved throughout the whole story.

First Love is truly a beautiful, raw, vulnerable, and emotional song of SUGA's He wrote this and was part of the production. It's a song about how MUSIC saved his life. I love all their albums, but WINGS is my favorite.
040322. No one seems to say much about the forest scene painting in Jimin's BU short film, that also is on the wall in the FAKE LOVE mv. Isn't a woodsy location where JM's tragic story began? (BTW, I find his insights very clever and interesting, but it's been about a week since this reaction was posted, and I didn't see any sign that he reads the comments, despite saying "Comment below" in his top, pinned comment. No hearts, no replies, and even though a couple of people have mentioned previously recommending the subbed versions of these BU videos, he didn't find those.)
Yeah I find not many really hone in on the painting! And tbf, he’s normally he’s quite active in the comment section but not in this one it seems. A shame because many did recommend the right vids with subs, like you said!

The other story the BU is heavily influenced is the short story ‘ The ones who walk away from Omelas’ which is about a utopian society where everyone is happy and prosperous because there is a child in a room suffering for the sake of everyone else. And if anyone shows that child a shred of kindness the utopia will crumble. JK is the child. In one of the MVs he’s hit by a car and in his short story he wakes up from the crash (which you hear) in the room. And keeps seeing Suga’s piano on fire. Suga and JK were linked in the first MV so in Suga’s short he’s missing JK. He hears his whistle and follows it down the road which represents the car accident. The car hits the music shop thus JK saving Suga.
Since I know the BU, I have a hard time thinking about anything else when it comes to decipher lyrics, and you do a great job with showing us the meaning for the real members and their path and their story Also, thank you for supporting them so much ❤️

Honestly I have so many of my own theories and even though I sort of know the story I still learn more from rewatching or going through it with someone like you. Man, you are so perceptive and talented at this shit! So V asks to make a phone call and if you remember at the beginning of the Run mv he calls someone after he st*bs his dad. The girl with him was his sister, his lyrics were 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry my sister'. The solo song lyrics have much more clues. So Jimin's song is called Lie, he's caught in a lie which relates to his character story but also is personal to him. I really think you should do the solo songs after these short films? Obviously Jungkook and Suga are connected in the bu but it always feels more than the other’s connections (v and namjoon, jhope and Jimin for example) Like First Love is a song about Yoongi’s love for piano; music/the piano was his first love. Jungkook gets hit by a car and in Suga’s short film the car hits the piano. Then the piano sets on fire; Yoongi commits suicide by fire (like his mother). It’s just so romantic There’s so much more I could talk about too 😩🤚

Jungkook sees the piano and then the painting of Yoongi burning whilst he cries out "hyung". We then see Jungkook's whistling lure Yoongi away from the music store and ultimately saving him. 22:10 this can be connected/traced to the fact that it was Jungkook that got hit by the car and not Suga. And the first video Begin with the whistle was Jungkook's video. And it was Suga's piano that started to burn in Jungkook's video. It was Suga's photo that was dripping with paint in the first short film and it began to burn too! And in the 'I Need You' music video it was Suga that has the lighter and he lit his room on fire with him inside. This is all connected and I love the BU so much because of the attention to detail and metaphors weaved throughout the whole story.

i don't know if i'm sharing too much, but there's a running theory in the bu where the boys save each other, hence the interconnectedness of the wings trailers. the song whistled in jungkook's trailer (titled begin) is the same song whistled in suga's trailer.

First Love is truly a beautiful, raw, vulnerable, and emotional song of SUGA's He wrote this and was part of the production. It's a song about how MUSIC saved his life. I love all their albums, but WINGS is my favorite.

(BTW, I find his insights very clever and interesting, but it's been about a week since this reaction was posted, and I didn't see any sign that he reads the comments, despite saying "Comment below" in his top, pinned comment. No hearts, no replies, and even though a couple of people have mentioned previously recommending the subbed versions of these BU videos, he didn't find those.)

The other story the BU is heavily influenced is the short story ‘ The ones who walk away from Omelas’ which is about a utopian society where everyone is happy and prosperous because there is a child in a room suffering for the sake of everyone else. And if anyone shows that child a shred of kindness the utopia will crumble. JK is the child. In one of the MVs he’s hit by a car and in his short story he wakes up from the crash (which you hear) in the room. And keeps seeing Suga’s piano on fire. Suga and JK were linked in the first MV so in Suga’s short he’s missing JK. He hears his whistle and follows it down the road which represents the car accident. The car hits the music shop thus JK saving Suga.

I’d love to see Knox dissect ‘So Far Away’! I think I’m in the rare group that prefers the Suran version - I really love the unusual production layout and guitar section. But either version would be amazing to see Knox dig into!

Honestly I have so many of my own theories and even though I sort of know the story I still learn more from rewatching or going through it with someone like you. Man, you are so perceptive and talented at this shit! So V asks to make a phone call and if you remember at the beginning of the Run mv he calls someone after he st*bs his dad. The girl with him was his sister, his lyrics were 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry my sister'. The solo song lyrics have much more clues. So Jimin's song is called Lie, he's caught in a lie which relates to his character story but also is personal to him. I really think you should do the solo songs after these short films? Hope you'll take the suggestion on board anyway and thanks as ever Knox. Hoping for more!
Yes bro! So many people slept on this era, it’s such a spiders web and Wings is an absolute masterpiece of an album. Look up the cover art too and the symbols will make more sense. You’ll definitely want to do the solo songs after (more views with the actual songs too), not only are the lyrics perfect for your analytic brain but it will help you a little with the BU too, as well as getting to know each member a bit. Irl Suga had a car accident and BH helped him financially, after he was able to tell the truth, to get his college tuition. For a long time his shoulder has been playing up bc of the accident. He operated it about a year ago. Thank you for making the connections to this piece. I love your analysis

I would like to recommend to revisit the first episode again because it make MANY connections to the others episodes
Obviously Jungkook and Suga are connected in the bu but it always feels more than the other’s connections (v and namjoon, jhope and Jimin for example)
Like First Love is a song about Yoongi’s love for piano; music/the piano was his first love. Jungkook gets hit by a car and in Suga’s short film the car hits the piano. Then the piano sets on fire; Yoongi commits suicide by fire (like his mother).
It’s just so romantic

Jungkook sees the piano and then the painting of Yoongi burning whilst he cries out "hyung". We then see Jungkook's whistling lure Yoongi away from the music store and ultimately saving him.

You should listen to the full song of FIRST LOVE. Suga is really an amazing story-teller with his music. He is an amazing composer/producer. The first instrument he played and introduced his love to music was the piano which is significant in this song. I cried when I first heard this song and it has changed my life as an aspiring writer.
