A Marine, an Astronaut, a Senator, and a true American hero and patriot. Colonel Glenn, the nation thanks you for your outstanding service, from the final frontier of space, to the heroic and courageous service you displayed across 2 wars, you definitely made our country proud! Finally to your service as a Senator you helped the American people in ways that words alone could never describe! Thank you for your service sir and Rest In Peace!

I was behind the front desk working at a hotel being an X marine I saw John Glenn walk by the front desk I said Semper fi and he immediately stopped and spoke to me a true gentleman and American hero Semper fi RIP and gods speed john glenn

I grew up in Ohio with this man and the Mercury 7 astronauts as examples of heroes, like all those who fought in WWII and Korea. I find it interesting now, after he has passed and been laid to rest as a hero, that another Senator from Ohio, Howard Metzenbaum said on the floor of the senate that because John Glenn never worked in the private sector that he never held a real job. My hero is Col. John Glenn.
