I have never seen such immense dedication coupled with such precision. It is pure perfection. I've never had the honor of visiting Arlington, but after seeing this presentation, I am going to make a point of going to pay my respects to the unknowns AND the amazing soldiers who demonstate a depth of reverence and honor very rarely witnessed anywhere. What an absolute HONOR and lasting endurance of our Military. I remember when I went with my parents around 14 yrs old. You could hear a pin drop in the quietness and we as children even knew how solemn and sacred this was and still is today.. Thank you for each of the guards who march that day and night 365/24/7 ...God bless each of them and may they always take that to heart and honor for their lives...God bless the unknown soldiers. May they know we will shall FORGET
We visit the Tomb every time we go to Washington. On our last trip, veterans had been granted the privilege to render the hand salute. This was a striking moment for me.
I first went here for July 4, 1968. I was 10. My uncle James was still MIA in Vietnam. I don’t how or why, but I knew he was being honored for his sacrifice, that he had died. I was right. His name is on the wall.
I know this an old comment. However, I find it moving that many lives collide. I met my wife in a bar in georgetown. I am a 7 year Army veteran. My brother and my best friend both served in the Old Guard. My brother walked Cap horse and my best friend walked the tomb. I am deeply embedded in that endeavor. My respect and admiration goes out to those who do that job and more so to the families that suffered a loss.....May god bless you and your family and rest assured they are well taken care of.
Wonderful Video. Grandson was able to lay a wreath at the Tomb. An honor to do that. Have been a visitor at Arlington Cemetery several times. Beautiful Place to do heavy thinking about ones self. God Bless Them All
I love these boys who are devoted to their country, and keep respect for their fallen brothers. It's so good to see this tradition carried on today. Thank you guys!
I went to Washington, DC. after 9/11/01. I came with two friends of mine, One Army, one Navy, myself, USAF. We went there on Memorial day. Took Amtrak from New Jersey, (Metro Park) to D.C. We did the "rounds" if you will , to all of the memorials. Then we visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It took all of my strength not to lose it. The Professionalism of the Guard was spectacular. The quietness as they did their walk, was so awesome, that no one present at the tomb moved. Even kids seemed to understand the seriousness of this. It's beautiful to see how one remembers the fallen. It is quite sobering to witness the heartbreak of persons that have hidden their pain of the loved ones that never came home. This is truly an honor to the American spirit and most importantly to the ones lost in battle. My friend and former NYPD Detective was an Honor Guard at this memorial. I can remember his telling me and my buddies how cold, or how hot it was when "Walking the mat". There is nothing more eye opening than to witness this honor of our fallen. I don't know about any of you here, but I can tell everyone, including my family, what a feeling it is to observe this. I was, and still am in awe of the Soldiers that walk in honor of the Unknown Soldier. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. The keepers of the light.
Ted Hernandez you made me weep.God Bless You All & I thank you for your touching story. And your service.Enjoy your life, you've earned every joy in it.Memorail Day 2018

I am a veteran. I have been to the Tomb of the Unknown 4 separate times, 3 in the early '80's while as a police officer, bringing our Safety Patrol students to D.C. I couldn't help but to become very emotional each time. (I'll never forget the first time I saw the inscription on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.. "Here Rests in Honored Glory, an American Soldier known but to God!" I was able to visit my fourth time 3 years ago, as a veteran with the Old Glory Honor Flight out of Appleton, Wisconsin. All the memories quickly came back and I couldn't contain my emotions. Every American patriot must make this trip and I highly recommend that ALL veterans, no mater what their rank, duty or position while in active duty, whether or not they were in active combat, make the trip to Arlington! It doesn't make any difference how you served. Keep in mind the Viet Nam veteran remembrance slogan that states... "All Gave Some, Some Gave All!" If you served at all, you gave some! Thousands of patriotic citizens, groups and especially supporting businesses and corporations have stood up to recognize, remember and treasure all of our veterans from all services, and are very happy to support the various Honor Flight causes throughout the nation because they know of the sacrifice that all veterans gave to their country, and they WANT to show their appreciation. I know of many donors from Wisconsin who beg all veterans to advantage of this wonderful salute to their service. Please tell/urge EVERY American Veteran, actual combat or any of all the other duties that keep our military working, to sign up for an Honor Flight. It will be a life-long event that you will never forget!
It was my privilege and honor to learn of from this video and how intricate this calling is. Thank you for what you did and for what you do in protecting those who are the unknown and gave their all for our nation.
After watching this video and considering all it has taught me about the tomb guard I am truly without words. Thank you to all those who gave all so that I can be free. Freedom is not cheap it is paid for with the blood of the Brave. Such dedication of perfection literally blows my mind. You have truly brought respect and honor to your profession.
I have visited Washington D.C.five times always attend the changing of the guard. As a ex Vet I am always in awe at their professionalism and dedication. Before I return to Ireland I always return to this hallow place. I feel very privileged to have been able render a salute to all those buried at the tomb and in Arlington Cemetery.
No such thing as an ex vet. If you served at a point in time. You are a vet. Period!!! And anyone who tells you otherwise needs to keep their mouth shut!
The respect and honor shown this tomb and all it represents is truly inspiring and very sobering. Being there impresses you with all that it represents to the military and the men and women who have died with valor for this country and it’s values. The emotion is so deeply moving and something you won’t ever forget.
I learn so much tonight. 21 steps, weapon facing away from tomb, military bearing. That all I have to state before I start losing my military bearing and start crying. God Bless The United States of America Unknown Soldiers

We respect our allies and our fallen allies just as much as our own. Our leaders may have their heads in their asses but the people of our countries would work together again in a heart beat.
It's sickening to see just how many visitors are disrespectful to the tomb. Then the guards spring into action and correct that situation instantly and in an upmost professional manner. The pride I have in these men and women can't be measured.
I've lived in the DC area all my life (37 yrs) but my first time to this hallowed ground and piece of American history was back in 2014, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. Miles of gleaming white headstones representing such true and patriotic Americans whom have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may be free, there are truly no words to describe that kind of gratitude!!
My high school band did the wreath change at the tomb of the unknown two days after Thanksgiving back in November. Anyone that has not witnessed the wreath change or the changing of the guard really needs to go see it. It is a BEAUTIFUL ceremony. Love this video!
I had the privilege of seeing this in person. Even as a young man it gave me chills. To this day I still get them every time I watch the changing of the guard. God bless these men and women. God bless our service members. I'm forever grateful for each and everyone of you.
recently when one of the hurricanes was coming through they asked if the soldiers wanted come in for protection from dangers..... everyone refused to leave their duties regardless of the dangers from the storm
PHOENIX INDIAN HIGH SCHOOL BAND Phoenix AZ Placed a wreath there at the TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER. An extremely spectacular event in my entire life. I was only 14yrs old. We also marched in Philadelphia on the 3rd and in Washington DC on the 4th of July.
20 + years in the US ARMY , I have done 12 combat tours and thought I was pretty tough . I have to say I could not do what these Men and Women do . Thank You . All of You .
An excellent documentary about one of the most sacred sites in our nation. I'm always impressed by the professional comportment of the Guards as they perform their "Walk". It's very heartening to me to see that we still have young folks of this caliber to perform this most highly honored duty. God Bless them all!
I have the honor to express my sincere gratitude for unknown brave US soldiers 🙏 God bless America forever. Make America Great Forever. Korea US Alliance Forever. Thank you for sharing. Thank you.
I was so proud to watch Queen Elizabeth II's (herself a British Army veteran of WW2), grandson, Major Harry Windsor, British Army, when he in full dress CLASS-A (I'm sure its called something else) as he laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns, and then to go on to Arlington's section in the wars where he served in with American's, looking up their names, first, and as he located each grave, he honored each resting there, American soldiers he served with who did not come home in the vertical position! Thank you both, Mam and Major ! May the peace of the Lord watch over you, to include your friends and family and all those you love and to include all of those who love you. Dear Lord, please hear my prayer. Amen. So mote it be!
I remember well my visit in 1990. The guard had just changed when we got there which I got to see, and now the new guard started his March. With tears rolling down his face. It's one of my most Vivid memories of my life seeing the tears rolling down that young man's face and almost knowing what he was thinking; how grateful he was, and in humility, how privileged he probably felt.
One of the most interesting and awe inspiring videos I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Just wish our elected representatives took their jobs as serious as these great men do.
Each branch of the services has their own ‘elite groups’ and of course they’re all difficult to join. But I feel the ‘Tomb Guards’ are probably the most challenging to not just join, but to stay in.
Amen I was there at 18 yrs old and he really moved me. My boyfriend was in DaNang but thank God he made it back. He was never the same after that. This place to me was a beautiful solemn moment that still moves me to this day. I am now 69. Arlington to me is the most beautiful place in America. God Bless our many soldiers who died for our freedom.
In the 70s my husband, a 24 year retired USAF veteran, along with myself & our 2 daughters visited Arlington. It is a profound experience and memory that stays with you forever. My gratitude and prayers are with every individual serving currently in our military and all veterans and their families.
@@sallykrouth5714 I was stationed at Ft. Myer in 1970-72, and walked past the Tomb twice every day, for more than a year. I would time my morning walk to see the changing of the guard almost every day. I lived in the barracks at Ft. Myer, North Post, and worked at the Naval Bureau of Personnel (BUPERS), which no longer exists. The buildings were torn down, and there is the Air Force Memorial now. I really should go see it, if I can get to VA. sometime. Both my children and grandchildren live in Manassas.
@@peterzenewicz329 oh my what a profound experience to do that for a year. I would like to travel the US again and see every War Memorial in each state.
To everyone who is reading this, as we reach Memorial Day 2015, I ask you just one thing. If you respect the guards, whom are worthy of respect, do not in this situation. They guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. By giving them an overwhelmed and overjoyed thanks, you effectively forget what you're truly looking at. You are NOT there to watch the guards. You ARE there, and you ARE viewing the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for just that. The Unknown Soldier. The Guard is only there so you and others do not vandalize it. Not to be admired, they wear their uniform to the cleanest, straightest gig line not for you. But for the respect of the men whom the tomb represents.
The perpetual guarding of the tombs is truly amazing. But what this undertaking truly represents is our genuine commitment to preserve the memory for those who gave everything for people will never know of their individual sacrifices.
Thank you for this wonderful documentary. It should be required viewing for all U.S. citizens before high school graduation. Respect, especially for our military and law enforcement is sorely absent today.
@Rowena Marten So sadly true...changing/destroying historical facts; creating an agency to determine what is "true". George Orwell's "1984" is coming at US like a runaway locomotive. Absolutely chilling!
Makes Me you wonder what happened to people in the US over the years. Now people are tearing down monuments!! God bless you souls who stand guard for the soldiers of our great country!!
Death is not the driving force and to be remembered for that is not your motivation. You guys from the US take this to the extreme..... in a good way. Not one of those Unnamed, did this for anything less than what .their country expected. It is the job of the Government to respect and honour those that gave on their behalf. As an Englishman I am disappointed by my country’s lack of respect to those that did their bidding. War is the most extreme example of politicians who are incapable of doing their job. Those politicians need to know there are some serious consequences to their actions. It seems most politicians feel that HISTORY is irrelevant, both sides of the Pond. I feel safe in the knowledge that the US will, at the very least, acknowledge and support those who fought on behalf of them. THAT is the ultimate reward... 100 times better than the MOH or VC. I truly believe, you cannot move forward, without looking back at what you did, and what you gave for the place you want to be.
Imagine how they died, their family, their friends, what they saw, what they encountered, who they encountered, and just what battle they fought in to die. R.I.P to al soldiers who lost their lives, they stood up for the U.S when nobody else would.
We salute you, the unknown soldiers... until we meet again, that day will come & there’ll be no more separation from...No more suffering... God ❤️ us all.
I have a U.S. Army Dress Blue Uniform from Ft. Myer. It no longer fits me as I am now 50 years old. I served in the 29th Light Infantry. All of my respect to the U.S. 3rd Infantry. They guard America's most hallowed ground- the resting place of some of our fallen heroes. I could never walk through Arlington Cemetery with clear eyes.
I "RALPH EDWARD SEWELL", I'm so very proud to be an AMERICAN.We as AMERICANS should always HONOR these Men and Women who paid the greatest prize for us to be FREE.
I remember in Officer Candidate School in Ft. Benning one of our Tac Officers was in the Old Guard when he was an enlisted soldier. Of course he was in charge of drill and ceremony. He was a Captain at the time, so he had been out of the Old Guard for at least 6 years. He was still as sharp as ever (at least in my eyes). Even when he just walked around he was as straight as an arrow, he wore his BDU cap down over his eyes and his BDU's were impeccable. He had the same sunglasses. Super nice guy too.
I don’t often feel a lot of pride for my country, but this is beyond duty. It is dedication an honor. I support our troops and always have and to see these wonderful guards. This gives me pride for my country.
I am so grateful that these wonderful men and women guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.... I watched this for the first time tonight and I understand the Honour Guard more now..... To see that they will walk the mat twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred sixty five days a year in all kinds of weather is a dedication like no other.... This is deeply an great honour that affects these men and women for the rest of their lives knowing they have honoured the unknown soldiers, watching over and honouring them, it gave me great peace in that knowledge.... Patriotism runs deep within, thank you.

I've never had the honor of visiting Arlington, but after seeing this presentation, I am going to make a point of going to pay my respects to the unknowns AND the amazing soldiers who demonstate a depth of reverence and honor very rarely witnessed anywhere. Thank you to these guards who represent all of us in paying respects and gratitude to those who have given everything to keep us all safe and free.
Our Unknown Soldiers should never be forgotten. They gave us freedom for which im forever grateful
God Bless these men and women that take honor in this duty may America stand proud of these soldiers. we need two stand together now.
Unbelievable! Semper fi from an old marine
The Tomb Guards have the respect, admiration and gratitude of the nation. There are no words to describe the importance of their sacred mission.
I could not imagine the emotions, sight, smells, sounds and the heart beats to observe such a solemn display of respect. Thank you.
Thank you so much for my freedom. The changing of the Guard is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!!
Women, too.
@@tommyodonnell9 Of course, that goes without saying.
Ted, thank you from the bottom of my heart for serving God, Country, and Constitution.
Ted Hernandez well said
Ted Hernandez God bless the United States of America and our Servicemen and -women. Thank you for protecting our country !
Ted Hernandez you made me weep.God Bless You All & I thank you for your touching story. And your service.Enjoy your life, you've earned every joy in it.Memorail Day 2018
Ted Hernandez you should go now it probably totally different and change every half hour but i think it cheapens it.
Watching this and other military marching... made me realize why im so proud to br an American citizen. That honor and pride is etched in my very core. Im proud to be American. God Bless our men.

i grew up around DC and being taken to the Tomb several times. now my mom dad and sister are all buried at Arlington. To me these wonderful soldiers are honoring my dead also.
there is a history of service in my family that goes back to the war of 1812. some day i will join my family in the company of some of our nations honored dead. if you find our commitment to the safety and well being of of our nation objectionable, i pity you
God bless America. Best wishes from Spain.

America is the greatest nation on earth where freedom, opportunity, prosperity and our civil society can flourish. We owe a gratitude of thanks to the brave men, women and their families who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Teach you children well.
Thank you for showing so much continuous Respect and Honour to these soldiers who paid the Ultimate Sacrifice for your beautiful country, the USA, and my country Canada. From the grateful daughter of a Canadian Military Veteran of 22 years who served during the Cold War. May your Guards continue to carry this Honour with Pride. From Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖💖🇨🇦
Thank you Jenifer and i thank your father for his service and your great nation God bless you and yours
@Eric Chandler Same to you Eric. May God continue to keep our border open and safe.
Thank you men, one and all, for having the fortitude I did not have.
All Americans should never forget the lives given so we could be free God bless them all for there service
Who could not appreciate this video Thank all our service men and women and Rest In Peace our hero’s
Just awesome. I'm an old Marine and I have nothing but love and respect for my brothers. I'm speechless.
Thank you for your service and your time to watch over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
"Here Rests in Honored Glory, an American Soldier known but to God!"
I was able to visit my fourth time 3 years ago, as a veteran with the Old Glory Honor Flight out of Appleton, Wisconsin.
I'm so honored to say that I and 3 others from my school have been chosen to present the wreath next month
Congrats Jenna, I bet it was a day you'll NEVER forget.
My congratulations on having been chosen for this honor. I hope you did the school and your classmates proud.
You are a female. So that is impossible.
@@audreymai2773 lol, well it happened me and 2 other FEMALES and one boy presented it, check your misogynistic ass before speaking.
I do believe you are still considered a Veteran. Not an ex-vet.
Thank you for your service,
Sir.
No such thing as an ex vet. If you served at a point in time. You are a vet. Period!!! And anyone who tells you otherwise needs to keep their mouth shut!
Sir you are never an ex veteran. Thank you for your service. Another veteran
The respect and honor shown this tomb and all it represents is truly inspiring and very sobering. Being there impresses you with all that it represents to the military and the men and women who have died with valor for this country and it’s values. The emotion is so deeply moving and something you won’t ever forget.
This documentary is a masterpiece, and I can only say the same thing about the soldiers that guard the tomb of the unknown soldier
I will say with pride for those who fought and died for my country!
I learn so much tonight. 21 steps, weapon facing away from tomb, military bearing. That all I have to state before I start losing my military bearing and start crying.
God Bless The United States of America Unknown Soldiers
So much respect for the people who show so much respect.
i am a canadian born in england i am in my 70s now ,my dad took me to cambridge ,lincs to see the american air force bomber crew cemetary ,,it was like a field of white wheat ,thousands upon thousands of crosses ,i was always taught to respect the americans for joining in our fight ...i will go to arlington one day ,,,god bless the u,s,a the brits and caucks
We love our allies
Thank you sir,we can always count Canadians and British to be our allies, bless you.
You not being disrespectful to t o m b

A wreath change or laying of a wreath?
An hour worthily spent watching this. Thank you. Honor, Valor, Respect to all Unknowns, and their Sentinels.
Thank you for guarding the Tomb of the Unknown.
20 + years in the US ARMY , I have done 12 combat tours and thought I was pretty tough . I have to say I could not do what these Men and Women do . Thank You . All of You .

Absolutely exceptional, Bless them.
An excellent documentary about one of the most sacred sites in our nation. I'm always impressed by the professional comportment of the Guards as they perform their "Walk". It's very heartening to me to see that we still have young folks of this caliber to perform this most highly honored duty. God Bless them all!

So very honorable of these men and woman. God bless them and God Bless America
Memorial Day 2020 / This vet thanks these vets and salutes the ones lost.
Thank you all for your dedication to your Durty and honor to a fellow soldier know only to our God. Bless you all.
I need to go and pay my respects....every American needs to visit Arlington/Tomb of the Unknowns.

GermKing566 truely right all said. I with more monuments with this type of importance would have the protection this has
The Sentinels' dedication is admirable, but the tomb itself is what's really important.
The perpetual guarding of the tombs is truly amazing. But what this undertaking truly represents is our genuine commitment to preserve the memory for those who gave everything for people will never know of their individual sacrifices.

Very moving, it's enough to bring anyone to tears. All the Respect and there shouldn't be anything less!
Every American needs to visit this place!
Looks like a very peaceful place and I respect it and all of our honor guards...
Makes Me you wonder what happened to people in the US over the years. Now people are tearing down monuments!! God bless you souls who stand guard for the soldiers of our great country!!

Young men and women
Fabulous documentary. Thank God for these fine soldiers! 🇺🇸⚔️🏛
Thank all guards for your meticulous service
Thank you so much for your service. Thank you so much for my freedom.
Imagine how they died, their family, their friends, what they saw, what they encountered, who they encountered, and just what battle they fought in to die. R.I.P to al soldiers who lost their lives, they stood up for the U.S when nobody else would.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier has always fascinated me. I learned many details from this that I never knew before. Thanks for posting!
We salute you, the unknown soldiers... until we meet again, that day will come & there’ll be no more separation from...No more suffering... God ❤️ us all.
Wow I am stuck. Absolutely awe inspiring the loyalty respect and honor is exceptional for all the guards I thank for vigilance and dedication
Thank you for your service and the willingness to do that!
Thank you for making this for us and posting it. All children should watch this video.
I enjoyed watching the Guards march at the Tome of the unkown soldier! So Emotional to watch!🙏❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Witnessed the changing of the guards last week. It was unbelievable. God bless those men.
