      Having multiple home resorts may help if you like to plan 11 months out

      I think your advice to use the cash for an upcoming trip to jumpstart the investment and begin the savings. If you chose to finance a portion of the contract, shop around for the loan. I financed a BWV resale contract with a 2 yr personal loan from Lightstream a few years ago. It was the cheapest loan and a very quick process

    Great advice! I also took the money I was using to book my trip to Disneyland for my initial DVC purchase. I figured I wouldn’t let the money go to waste by going on a Disney trip when I can use it for many future Disney trips :)

    Jen, as usual, another helpful video, thanks! So with the economy the way it is, I decided to take a loan out of my 401K to myself and buy my BLT contract; I determined this as a win win for me because I'm paying myself back in interest and I'm getting something of real value for my money instead of losing a big chunk of it to the falling stock market.

      Congrats on your BLT contracts! Best wishes!

      @@davegartner8495 we bought in December ( or November) at the riviera resort. They had a great promotion during that time. I said the same thing im not retiring for another 25 yrs lol and the interest u pay back you’re paying to yourself so technically is interest free lol in my eyes

    Excellent video Jen, thank you.
    You need to do the same video and tips for international (British) buyers. For example, I don’t think the Disney visa is available for us, and priorities might be different vs a US DVC owner.

    Thanks for the great videos! My family's considering purchasing at the new tower it's making me crazy that they will not release how much per point or the layouts of the rooms.

    for my first contract, i bought the number of points it would take to stay for a week in a studio for that home resort during the month we always go ( plus an extra 10 points). We had a 15 year history of going to WDW 2 times a year so we were confident that we would use the points.

    • @TheMagicInTheMusic
      @TheMagicInTheMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really like your approach with the 10 extra points. That's a great way to insure yourself against future points chart changes. We tried to take a similar approach, but now we have several contracts and our points use is all over the place - fortunately we have plenty of points to play with, so it's working out for us. Thanks so much for watching!

    Great video yet again!!! I get the whole Disney Visa for buying with that 6 month window, but I still have yet to see the value in the Disney Visa. Being a DVC owner now I get the whole divert reward dollars to your dues but I don't know. LoL. So many other CCs with better cash back. Could you do an updated video on that card with all the in's and outs? Was at WDW last week and they are REALLY pushing that card hard.

    • @TheMagicInTheMusic
      @TheMagicInTheMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, I'd say that if the only value you get out of the Disney Visa is the rewards points and zero percent financing offer on a direct DVC purchase, it's probably worthwhile. They are also usually offering between $200 and $300 statement credit after spending a certain amount on the card in the first few months. I do think that there's some benefit, especially with the zero fee card. But I agree that there are other cards with better cash back offers. Thanks for watching and thanks for your feedback! 👍

    Great financial advice in general. Most of it also applies to other areas in life.
    Do wonder what will happen to Monera and others once DVC starts losing their value. It is easy to take back an asset that is already worth more. Where they can at least break even

    • @TheMagicInTheMusic
      @TheMagicInTheMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You make a very good point! It looks to be an ever-evolving outlook for these DVC-adjacent businesses. Thanks as always or watching! I always appreciate your comments! 👋😎

      Does Monera take a mortgage or are they just loans most of the time?

    I knew going in that I wanted 650 points but couldn’t afford that many points out the gate and I didn’t want to buy 1 contract with that many points.
    I told the agent that going in, then when I emailed him to purchase a second contract he was like “You have add on itis.” It’s not add on itis if it was always your plan to buy that many points.
    Also random but 1 perk of paying your dues all at once is that if you do, you can use Disney Gift Cards which you can save a little money on if you buy them from Sam’s, BJ, or Costco.

    • @TheMagicInTheMusic
      @TheMagicInTheMusic  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I also use discounted Disney Gift Cards to pay dues. Did you know that you can still use gift cards to make payments, even if you have automatic monthly dues payments set up? That’s what we do!

  • @tutuluvsminnie7129
    @tutuluvsminnie7129 ปีที่แล้ว
