I am a crafter from the cradle (or at least age three!) and raising my five grown children has taught me a million lessons in life, including thrifting and DIY master status, haha! I am itching to get that coffee pot displayed in my she shed! And I mean it, I'm not going to skip any wonderful things in the future just because we don't technically have room to take them home 💃 😄

OMG, I absolutely loved this video, I laughed so many times. You're so amazing, especially when it came to having to restrain yourself. I loved your fines, like you, I love blue & white. I also had one of those divided baby bowls, I'm not what happened to it (that was over 45 years ago).

Yes, the multicolored piece was really pretty too! I wish I could take it all home, or maybe I need to be a buyer for Cracker Barrel Restaurant, decorating their stores! 😄

I first collected blue and white as a teenager in the 80s! And was raised by antique collectors, so it's in my blood 😄 ❤️
My guess on that old wood piece is it's a dolly, used for shaping metal, such as on a car. Sometimes held on one side of the metal while using a hammer on the other side to shape the metal.
Oh, that's a use I would never have thought of! Had no idea such a tool existed. I am so curious!! 🤔

Hi Marla, yes, Project Linus is blanket donations for hospitals and children with serious illnesses. Our church makes 100 to 200 fleece blankets to donate to Project Linus every year. Have you noticed that Good Will store prices have gone crazy high?? I am trying to get my strength back so I went to Good Will to walk last week, I saw an item marked 7.99 and the store price was still on it for 4.00!!!! what the heck! I thought that was a bit odd. Oh well. I left it behind! Well looks like you had fun and got all your items packed up to come home. Glad they did not leave you behind. LOL It is so nice to hear your voice! I have missed you. I use to have one of those baby dishes when my kids were little. I think it is up in the attic. I may have suggested leaving a kayak behind to get those chairs. LOL I am so glad you are all having some fun times this summer. . Good for you for having fun on the kayak. You are such a blessing. I will continue to pray for you all. . Now I am caught up from May!!
I had not heard of project Linus before I found that little quilt. What a wonderful ministry! So good for your church to donate the time and materials for that cause.
I have also noticed Goodwill prices that seem to be higher than normal inflation price increases. A lot of it depends on the judgment of the person pricing the items, but they don't get it right all the time. I too am seeing items priced twice as high as they should be. Making us have to search harder for the good deals!

Hey, Doris! 😃 ❤️ I am one busy girl this summer! Taking opportunities to hold my newborn grand, and go on adventures with my people. I always assumed thr Hiwassee was just too rough a river for me, even though it's the tamest one they regularly kayak. Renting the more stable inflated kayak for me made it possible for me to go with them and see them in their element. The sit-in whitewater Kayaks require a skill set that has taken them years to build. They're able to roll under and back up again, they can play in the rapids, paddling against the current and doing tricks. Meanwhile I was white-knuckling my paddle and praying not to get tossed out of my boat!! Haha 😄

So happy to see your video today. I grew up near Ooltewah, also attended community college in Cleveland, so it was fun seeing and hearing about your shopping adventures there. As a kid we went tubing on the Hiawasee river. Like you, I love the blue and white dishes and accessories. That block of wood thingy would possibly look good as a riser or book end. I love the look of it. And that Enamel coffee pot pretty amazing and only $10. You did good! There is a big thrift store just down from The Cracker Barrel in Ooltewah, called the Samaritan Center. I haven’t been but I have friends that do and enjoy it. Until next time enjoy your family and relax. Hugs dear friend!
Goodness, I need to search for that thrift store near the Ooltewah Cracker Barrel! We like to stop there on our way home, so I will have to be extra charming to get my guys to permit a thrift stop while traveling 😄

Check out University pickers in Huntsville for a fan. They have several.
I may have to break down and buy one at a vendor mall... my favorite way to collect is to find old jewels "in the wild" at thrift stores, yard sales, side of the road 😄
That flamex dish looks like it could be used as a double boiler.
I thought the same thing! It looks as though this set once had a metal band and a handle attached, but all that remains now is the pot and lid. I am so curious! Need to ask my sister who is very knowledgeable about all things "vintage kitchenware" 😊

I have sooo many books, that now I limit myself to books copyrighted in the 1800’s.. I consider them rescues..I rationalize that if I don’t get them, they might end up in a landfill and gone forever. I’m actually doing a public service 😉

Wonder if that wooden thing is an old time tool to smooth wall paper. My parents home was very old aand it had wall paper everywhre even the ceiling. Amd it was old. Just curius id it could be used for that.?
