Yes took me 4 years to slowly plan, you should start planning when you apply for BTO offerings online. When you are confimed buying a flat and have the finances, start creating a folder to save all your flat planning details. Start sourcing for furniture, lights and other fixtures and draw out your ideal home from the floor plan given by HDB. That way once you get your flat in 3-5 years time, you already know how to renovate it.
You mentioned flexi BTO, does that mean it is a short lease 2-room flat?
Mine is 99 years, short lease is up to 64% cheaper for 15 years

What a colourful house😢 got red, blue ,yellow,orange and green😢and the house look very small,if all the wall in white will be better 😅😅
I don't like white, black or grey - I chose bright pure colours make the house look modern and cheerful, my house looks small because I pack a lot of functional spaces inside - like a home gym, bar counter, custom shoe rack and big study table, size can't be increased still 45sqm excluding aircon ledge. To me functionality is more important than big space.
Some people like to make their 2-room BTO living room bigger by going minimalist - just a big sofa and a TV with a lot of floor space but that's not practical to me becos when you come home, you won't be just sitting on the sofa watching TV - anyway the local TV channels suck. I spend more time on the computer so my study table gotta be big.

Wall mounted shower seat - if you buy from retail healthcare shops is around $300. Mine is from Shopee, only $75! 😃 Installation I don't know becos my bathroom contractor installed for me in a package, so you need to contact a good renovation contractor to ask how much to mount a wall shower seat.

Thank you for the positive comments! I designed my home myself with some ideas from talking to contractors - did not engage any ID because they are expensive. I hire and oversee individual contractors to renovate my flat - my total renovation cost is about $25 thousand dollars. Took me 1-2 years to plan and design my flat, takes time to slowly think about what you want and check the internet for design ideas.
A very practical design with all the necessary creature comforts. I love that you even have a home gym! But I wonder, how you keep the toilet, cabinet and floor dry when you shower.
Hi thanks, I took 1-2 years to plan and design my home - what I want functionally plus the deco style. My toilet is very big so I have an open bathroom concept instead of a shower glass partition. Even when I shower, the water does not reach my cabinet and my vanity cabinet from Sim Siang Choon is also water resistant. My bathroom floor dries very fast after shower because I leave my bathroom door open and I can even open the toilet window for air to flow in. When you have a big toilet - no need to install a shower screen or partition - these are difficult to clean and shower kerb can trip you.

I actually love that Mr. Avon incorporates many colours in his apartment. I think that the colour combinations are tastefully put together and the colours are vibrant and cheerful. Honestly, I have been thinking of doing the same when I get my own apartment one day. Thanks, Mr. Avon for the ideas and references.
@@fafafifufu You're welcome! Nowadays people go mostly for Japandi or Industrial decor for their bto flats. But for me my style is more to Bauhaus decor - with emphasis on funtionality first and colourful walls to create the mood you want. Some people don't like it but I'm from the eighties and they tend to have more colour in their homes back then.

Must spend enough to make a good home to stay in, I already saved by not having an interior designer. Custom furniture is quite expensive but 2-room hdb bto is too small, so must get custom fit furniture.
