What he gets for trying to be the resonable 1 for once in his trauma ridden life.
I mean, Athruns purpose in the movie was to infiltrate the enemy, get vital information on their leader's background, save most of the main cast after being betrayed, punch Kira back to his senses, and fight in the final battle. So a lot more than just punching Kira.
A Deus Ex Machina and an exposition dump where they tell rather than show never makes a character better in almost any form of entertainment.
@@simplynewtype Deus ex machina meaning: person or thing that appears or is introduced into a situation suddenly and unexpectedly and provides an artificial or contrived solution to an apparently insoluble difficulty.
There was nothing unexpected about Athrun's arrival or his acquisition of the intell provided. We were shown that Athrun had infiltrated the compound for that very purpose. We know that Athrun is the second most capable pilot in the series and was more than capable of saving the other cast members. Athrus was also show to be involved in special ops missions. What part of that is contrived in any way?
@simplynewtype We saw Athrun doing infiltration, having him relatively nearby with an MS isn't really a deus ex machina.
The Z'gok just had to hold out till the nuke was an imminent threat
Nothing is ever gonna top Universal Century for me, but I do love Cosmic Era as a very close 3rd to Post-Calamity being a very close 2nd.

The movie was pure over the top bullshit and I loved it. As someone who isn’t really big on Seed or Destiny, it was a really enjoyable film that addressed a lot of issues i had with both shows and really felt like a movie that was made with a lot of love and care
The Fento armor seems to be more an alternate means of getting thr Akatsuki's beam immunity
True, tho unlike Akatsuki that uses really expensive coating (since Akatsuki was developed around the same time as the Strike development in secret) , FT armor seem to require power to use, but since the black knights using nuclear, it shouldnt be an issue

Wish the Rising Freedom and Immortal Justice didn’t get destroyed but seeing them go back to their old Gundams with upgrades was great. Kira and Lacus finally got a kiss and the millennium reminds of the Ra Cailum

Crazy how there isnt a single Dagger L in seed freedom, then again, using 105 (01A1dagger) is pretty smart for blue cosmos, it maybe old but it's flexible with both stronger armor and able to use striker pack
edit: 17:07 also it's untrue, mulitple 105 dagger also appear in destiny during the battle of Heaven's Base. aka Operation Ragnarök
The earth portion takes place in Eurasia where the 105 daggers are their tried and true military force.
So it makes sense its the 105 and not the L

the movie was brilliant. it did what it needed to do and yeeted off. it acts an incredible foundation to kick off the seed series again after 20 years
I nitpick but this does exactly what it needs to do.

Why does everyone forget to factor in cost when saying something is gonna replace something. Especially since it doesn't look like a technological boom is anywhere soon in the cosmic era.

True, one of the things I love about CE was the technological gap between Coordinatior and Natural, take their ship for example, Alliance ship is very blocky and analog style buttons while ZAFT ship is quite alien and using touch screen.

I loved it and I watched it on release day dubbed and most of it was fine but they kept saying names wrong lactos for Lacas
I heard about the laucs thing. Why do they struggle with her name so much in the dubs?
@@simplynewtypeThe new NYAV post dub of Seed and Destiny use much the same cast a pronunciation. This is the studio that worked on UC, NT and Doans Island. From what Ai understand Sunrise is far more involved with their localizations, so I’m inclined to believe that the pronunciation from the old 2000s dubs were incorrect all this time.
It’s weird to mentally go back on what I’ve been saying for like 18 years but I’ve been on the new pronunciation since the NYAV dub came out.
This is probably a alternate time line because this “Laucs” is a huge pushover compared to the series. Lacus was always a strong and brave leader once she was in the Eternal but this one just sits around and cries about Kira and maybe makes a speech about love. That was one of my biggest complaints about this movie.
Still don't know why they could just bring back the old va's for the returning characters
I just watched the film last night and I also had the same question about the pronunciation of lacus
I'll watch it if it shows up on streaming, but as someone who's largely indifferent towards the Cosmic Era this movie was never going to be something I'd be actively into seeing. I just have no investment in this timeline or its characters. I am, however, sincerely happy for that SEED fans seem to have got what they wanted after decades of waiting.

The writing was so bad but no one watches seed for the writing. We watch for the over the top fights and this movie has a LOT of it! I wanna rewatch.
I thought the first half was really good
It just needed more time. Felt rushed after the joint operation ends
After that disaster writing in Destiny I stop caring about the story. Only watch for animation. Even though is mainly reused/stocked animation 😂. even in the movie there's some reused. And fanservice Fukuda love to show girls character ass and tits.
For plot and story I like the MSV such as Astray, Stargazer, and Eclipse. Cause those series get you to see the bigger picture in CE world.

For anyone who saw this movie What kind of Scenes would you want to add for this kind of movie of Gundam.
What I could add as of is:
1. The villainess queen of the foundation gets ready her robot mecha which was so powerful it becomes a tough challenge for the Compass Gundam group.
2. As Kira goes out of control one of his teammates tries to talk him out of it the best way they can, but he just can’t hear them at all I keep trying to communicate but no he just keeps fighting with his.
3. As the times as orphee and lacus were together After the dance scene the outside talk scene and the offer to join them scene it be crazy in one of those scenes if orphee Gave lacus A one kiss scene in one of them. Also if there was actually a season In The show where lacus wasn’t kissed; I would definitely take it back.
The femto armor is more like the nanolaminate armor in IBO since it doesn't need power or generator.

It seems like it may need SOME power more than say Akatsuki's golden beam coating.

Shell weapons still do damage most likely. That is a good question regarding short ranged shots though...

Maybe if you take off the Proud Defender and clone Kira. Kira piloting the Cal-re.A has a chance to beat Kira piloting freedom with the defender. With the defender. Nothing stands a chance. Lacus waved her hand and destroyed an entire fleet. It's straight up a god

Yes. He is actually well written and gets a redemption arc.
I’m never going to watch the dub since they didn’t use the original dub cast. The new cast is horrible and absolutely butchered it, they give a soulless performance and can’t even pronounce names/words correctly.
