Firstly. Begun, the Alliance-PLANT War has.

What wasn't fully mentioned here was the true reason behind the abandonment of JOSH-A: The Earth Alliance was dominated by two rival forces: the Blue Cosmos-controlled Atlantic Federation and the moderate Eurasian Federation. The Atlantic Federation wanted to take full control of the alliance, so they secretly left much of the Eurasian forces for dead. They also ordered the Archangel to defend Alaska because they believed its crew was "tainted" by a coordinator's (Kira) presence, so it's their sly way of killing Kira off. With the Eurasian forces decimated, the Atlantic forces became basically the sole ruling power in the Earth Alliance.

Alternate ending to the first Gundam:the Gundam gets destroyed and armuro finds the prototype in the enemy base and uses it to fight char and whatevers left of his mobile suit

I wouldn’t mind a model kit of this it looks very cool that I did say that it is pretty easy to actually do just get the origin Gundam give it a visor and color it light yellow and done

My favorite part is the Guncannon units first deployed on the moon mission to attack 5 Zeon's mobile suits

The loss of the Takemikazuchi is the best thing that could have happened to the Archangel. The legged ship, while a legendary ship, was ran by an understaffed ragtag team of non-soldiers. Now with the Takemikazuchi on board the Archangel, it now has its own platoon of effective Murasame pilots.

The Seirans are next level stupid to join the Earth Alliance when Orb has coordinators in their own army. They could have deserted to ZAFT and used their knowledge of the nation against them.

Also known as the first and only machine the Federation made that made the GOSHDANG ZAKU 1 look like a Gundam in performance!

I love how the origin portrait mobile suit to be both cool and goofy.

Couldn’t disagree more with you- the orgins overall is such a better version of the orginal story. It adds so much more depth and believability to the characters- I also greatly appreciated scenes like with Fraw and Amuro. It comes off more realistic to amuros not wanting to be a tool. The further changes in orgins and extra bits we get with characters like black tri stars and zeon in general are also such an improvement- I’ve rewatched the original 0079 now FOUR DAMN TIMES to show it to family and friends not including the movie compilation and I never will watch the “let’s go get salt for the ship!” Crap ever again. The combination and shifts in subplots and events in the manga adaption to me just hit so much smoother.

They really did rush to get to Earth. That's a bit of a shame. I personally love this section of MSG for how... pathetic everyone is. Amuro is utterly terrified and working off of adrenalin while being crushed by stress, Bright is indecisive and unconfident even going so far as holding a vote for their course of action, and the rest of crew in general have no experience and/or absolutely no training for what they're doing. The White Base crew's growth from here to A Baoa Qu is kind of incredible, it really shows how war can reshape people for good or ill.

Spoiler for this video: 2:21 if anyone wonder what happened to unit 1, it got destroyed when the beam hit directly at the zaku II reactor, and of course the explosion caused a hole in the colony... Unit 1 in origin first appearance is very intimidating, despite it's goofy dummy color, it managed to take down 3 out of 5 zaku , and the research group @ 2:24 were so confused as they didnt know those zaku's are the real deal..

One small, yet important addition from the original anime (which The Origin is great with) is that Amuro was hacking into the military database and looking up info on the Gundam before the manga begins. It further explains how he could pilot it right away, aside from just reading the manual for a couple minutes like in the anime (which is still better then in Seed where Kira just automatically knows how to pilot the Strike because genetically engineered people are magic, I guess)

I don't know if a remake anime of 0079 is a controversial subject among Gundam fans, but Sunrise already has the perfect blueprint with The Origin. IMO, that manga is the best depiction of the original story. Better than the og anime, the movie trilogy and the novels.

I love the scene where the Zaku squad encounters the RX-78-1. Really cool paint scheme as well. I've really want Bandai to make a kit of it.

I always love the Mercurius because that mobile suit took on Wing Zero in a single combat and fought everything it had to stop it.

0079 is the only Mobile Suit Gundam anything where I prefer the English dub over the subtitles...and I prefer the show to the movies. That dub is a straight classic!

Thanks for taking the risk and showing us! Not going to lie this was a tough one and truthfully made me glad I stuck to singles on this product. Got all the cards I wanted from the set and spent less than a box total. Had some money left over so I was going to jump in a break or two for fun…. But the break spot prices were just as much as the singles, if not more! Didnt make sense to my wallet! 👊 Hope Topps does well with their on card set whenever it comes out
