In the countries that remained outside have happened assimilations, genocides, suppression of names and forced religion were carried out only for the population to declare themselves Albanian. Like in Kosovo, or in Cameri which is located in Greece, in Plave and Guci which are in Montenegro and many other countries. Today in Greece for example live about 4 million old Albanians called Arvanitas and it is these Albanians who liberated and formed the Greek state, but today the Greek nationalist politician did not mention it. im proud that my grandfather turned our house to a base of UQK (KLA) during the war. We still have holes on our walls caused by so advanced snipers used by serbs at the time from hundreds of meters away. It wasnt a war, it was a massacre, but thankfully my father and my 5 uncles all survived and fought proudly to protect the land where i growed up. Im now 17 and recently participated in a competetion representing Kosova and did way better than serbs. I think the way for us to revenge and do things right is not by fighting in the field anymore, but by building our country to excel in every modern field. I turned anger to inspiration, and i think the youth should have the same mindset, the only way to win is by working hard and proving others wrong.

Todays Kosovo is on the territory of old Dardania. We are the Descendants of those Dardanians. In The battle of Kosovo, mentioned in the beginning of the video, Albanians, Serbs, Croats and almost everybody else from the Balkans were fighting together. Even the father of Skanderbeg Gjon Kastrioti fought there. The thing is the Serbs flew and afterwards helped the Ottoman Empire attacking Albania during the resistance of Skanderbeg. In 1912 Albania declared its independence but it got ignored by whole Western Europe and Albania was divided in London in 1912. Albanians that lived together under Albanian/Ottoman Rule for century’s, were suddenly separated from each other. Every bordering Country took a bit of ethnically Albanian territory. The only reason why there was still an Albanian state at the end, was that England and Austro-Hungary didn’t want Serbia and with them Russia to have access to the Mediterranean Sea. In the Second World War a big part of Kosovo was given back to Albania, but right after the end again given to the newly born socialistic federal republic of Yugoslavia. We always wanted freedom and independence, but no one cared about us.

As an albanian (who lives in Kosovo) this gives me so much sadness and anger to see. I never went through this but my parents and my grandparents have been and told me a lot about it. They are all ok and made it alive, thank god, but so many innocent people lost their homes, family members and even their lives. War is truly a terrible thing.

At that time I lived with my 3 brothers with my grandmother in Kosovo, since my father had to work abroad and we had no other relatives apart from in Kosovo. In 1998 the war came and I saw how our village where 100% of our relatives live was killed, except me, my brothers, my 4 cousins and my grandmother, we ran and were also taken to Albania by bus. Unfortunately, my grandmother didn't come with me and we never saw each other again. my father then had to look for us all because we didn't have cell phones and we only had contact via our cell phones in the house. Luckily he found us after calling the police in Tirana and was allowed to go and live in Germany.

Actually in 1389, the battle of Kosovo was between a coalition of Balkan against Ottomans. Yes the Balkan army was led by a Serbian Prince but it was Balkans against Ottomans. Serbs like to say that they were the only one in that battle, it correlate with their version of a « Serbian » Kosovo. Albanians were actually since the beginning the majority in this region. Kosovo used to be called Dardania.
Also, Serbs are lying there. Serbian minority living among Albanians were perfectly respected. The had great relationships with Albanians. My mother was from a village with a Serbian minority, her family was about to get killed but they were saved by a Serbian Villager who begged to the commander to leave them alive. This was ethnic cleansing what the Serbs were doing, planed ahead by their state. The operational plan was exposed by Austrian inteligence and it called 'operation horseshoe". Albanians in the other hand who were over 90% of the population were fighting for their existence. They were poorly armed, while Serbs had like 5k tanks in the region, all kinds of artilery and what not. I cant comprehend that Serbs killed so many civilians, not just in Kosovo but Bosnia, Croatia etc. You dont hear about genocides commited by anyone else in the region exept the Serbs. I'm late to see this video but hopefully you'll see this comment of mine. The war in 1999 was actually the last period of serbian occupation in Kosovë. Albanian people had hard times from serbians for many many years before the war started, I remember my dad telling me that not even a day would pass by without serbian police coming to our home and asking for the men of the family and they always had to hide cause the police would either beat them up or some shit. Albanian language was prohibited everywhere even in schools, but all the albanian parents got their children out of schools not to let them learn serbian and sent them to albanian lessons that were held in houses. Also at that time 92% of Albanians voted to create the paralel government and declared Kosova Republic, they didn't stop fighting even for a second. I think albanians are very brave and strong but our story and history is not told enough thats why the srbs still have the audicity to say that NATO attacked them out of nowhere and they were the victims when the truth is srbs killed so many innocent albanian people.

At that time I lived with my 3 brothers with my grandmother in Kosovo, since my father had to work abroad and we had no other relatives apart from in Kosovo. In 1998 the war came and I saw how our village where 100% of our relatives live was killed, except me, my brothers, my 4 cousins and my grandmother, we ran and were also taken to Albania by bus. Unfortunately, my grandmother didn't come with me and we never saw each other again. my father then had to look for us all because we didn't have cell phones and we only had contact via our cell phones in the house. Luckily he found us after calling the police in Tirana and was allowed to go and live in Germany.

Actually in 1389, the battle of Kosovo was between a coalition of Balkan against Ottomans.
Yes the Balkan army was led by a Serbian Prince but it was Balkans against Ottomans. Serbs like to say that they were the only one in that battle, it correlate with their version of a « Serbian » Kosovo.

I'm late to see this video but hopefully you'll see this comment of mine. The war in 1999 was actually the last period of serbian occupation in Kosovë. Albanian people had hard times from serbians for many many years before the war started, I remember my dad telling me that not even a day would pass by without serbian police coming to our home and asking for the men of the family and they always had to hide cause the police would either beat them up or some shit. Albanian language was prohibited everywhere even in schools, but all the albanian parents got their children out of schools not to let them learn serbian and sent them to albanian lessons that were held in houses. Also at that time 92% of Albanians voted to create the paralel government and declared Kosova Republic, they didn't stop fighting even for a second. I think albanians are very brave and strong but our story and history is not told enough thats why the srbs still have the audicity to say that NATO attacked them out of nowhere and they were the victims when the truth is srbs killed so many innocent albanian people.

That 1389 quote is a BIG misinterpretation. The whole great Serbia or nacertanije was created based on that big lie. In 1389 in Kosovo Valley then called Dardania, took place the battle where a Balkan coalition tried to stop the Ottoman invasion of the Balkans. The coalition was between the Princes of Romans, Albanians, Bulgars, and Serbs. Although in the battle Serbs boycotted the battle and run away.
Meanwhile In 1844 Serbs created the idea of great Serbia and created the story that they say that only they fought till the end and all the others betrayed them and left them alone. So their tale started from that day they swore that this field, the KOSOVO FIELD (which they named after a bird which is found in Dardania) is the heart of great Serbia and their holy land.
