    Anyone who says Breath of the Wild’s soundtrack is bad or says it has no music clearly have no appreciation for ambient music cause this stuff is freaking gorgeous and complements the gameplay beautifully

      I agree it has music, I just didn’t like it. It grows on you though. For me it was nostalgia from the other games with fuller music. I’m ok now. I am here arent I? 😁

    Why does it feel weird hearing these sounds come from a piano and not just in-game ambience? 😂
    It’s interesting how our minds attach emotions, story, and locations to seemingly simple sounds. It really takes a complex and purposeful approach on behalf of the composer to get all of that out of the few notes they used.

  • @TanikaNuva

    Botw's overworld themes are my favorite in the series, because they convey so much emotion, and fit the areas perfectly without using loud bombastic (and very repetitive) orchestrated music like the other overworld themes in the series.

    I’m sad it took me this long to look for/find this cuz I’ve been rly wanting to learn how to play this stuff. And now that I’ve found this, this morning, I have already learned up to Caves lol. It’s not complicated but man is it beautiful to play.
    Edit: I have just finished my first complete run through without mistakes, the next morning. Man it’s tiring doing 14 minute reps lol, I have to take breaks in between. Thanks for the video! It was a lot of fun learning!

    The ruins and especially Kara Kara Bazaar are my favorite, of which I learned. These ones are the right mixture of ambient, melodic, and with cool chords that I like. The others are a bit too "loose" imo. Temple of time is also really good.

    • @demantim
      @demantim  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kara Kara was the first ambient track that really made an impression on me!

    • @eusticom5821
      @eusticom5821 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like everything about it... The cool chords... The parts where it starts slow and gets faster and finishes slower... And one cannot forget the satisfying treble chord at the end! Such a neat little track. I also like the field theme similarities. Both have a deep note at the start, but night has it from the get-go whereas day has some treble notes prior. Both have a treble pattern that repeats twice (day has a fast succession of notes, which I can do the start fast but not the whole thing) and night has those 16 high Fs (you remember that number because it's written as "15ma" in the sheet music.
      It really is a great soundtrack. Ambient themes, and catchy ones too. Hateno Village and Hyrule Castle are my favorite! Oh, and the champions themes, which kind of bridge that gap between melodic and ambient.

    This music sounds like somebody left some sheet music outside, and it weathered and got broken up in millions of pieces. I would almost go as far as to say that if you put all files of music together you would get a great medley of all wellknown zelda songs.

    • @demantim
      @demantim  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a cool way of looking at it!

    • @DennisUlijn

      @@demantim thanks for the reply. I downloaded the official ost and tried overlaying the riding and field themes and some extra to see if I could get a fuller version of iconic songs in a multitrack setup but could not find a coherent way. Also removing silences (interesting in the temple of time theme in botw!) and overlaying did not result in something recognizable. Maybe you Tim habe some more musical knowledge and understanding of the musical pieces to merge some tracks?

  • @casperdewith
    @casperdewith 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m amazed by the accuracy! Nice work. The timing on the notes, especially for the sparse tracks, is often off. Some specific corrections that I think are most worth mentioning:
    5:02 This is an arpeggio: D'-A-G-D and then the chord E♭-F♯-C. You’re hitting the right notes - just not quite the right order.
    10:20 This needs another F♯ at the end.
    12:11 This bottom note should be the C♯.
    Furthermore, the titles of two of the themes you played are actually that of _shrines_ in specific areas:
    0:00 is ‘Shrine (Snow)’, not ‘Great Plateau’
    4:48 is ‘Shrine (Desert)’, not ‘Wasteland’
