Indeed, walking through the light woods, looking away from that strangely large moon on the horizon. Ah, someone up ahead? Huh, looks like a minor festival of some sort. Oh, one of them waved to you and beckoned you over. Well, you have some rations from an earlier hunt, why not share and join? This looks fun. The next day, you wake up with a minor headache. They are gone. Your hunt is also gone, but you have some snacks of a sort you didn't have before. And a simple canoe is left unattended at a river's edge, as though to grant you a means to cross the slow-moving river. You wonder if, perhaps, you met some sort of forest fae or spirits or something. That strange ominous moon is gone too. A trick of light and weather? A good story for the taverns, no doubt. But for now, it is time to adventure onwards, perhaps dreaming of heroes and magical swords like those told in the myriad of legends and folktales people tell their children.
This feels like you're walking deeper and deeper into the lost woods until you're finally completely lost so you become more and more a creature of the forest. At the end you're not the same person, maybe not even the same thing you were when you made your first step into the woods...
The only thing I want right now is feel free in a large forest, whit rivers and enormous trees, no need for phones, tv or people. Just me and the purity of the forest
The game was originally gonna have a movie developed by the same studios that made Astro boy 3D and tmnt but was canceled cuz of the studios shutdown and Nintendo think it will be bad as super mario Bros movie(old not new)
For a reason I can‘t even figure out, I cried while listening. I suppose it is because these extra beats to the original make it feel like a childhood memory of some sort. Something that you don‘t know exactly whether it happened or not or at least just an old blurry memory. And in the end, that is exactly what this is. My brother used to play Zelda a lot, beating all those bosses, being badass (to me while I couldn‘t manage to keep track of fights like these). Now we have grown up and I miss having such a bond. But this beat reminds me of all the good times we had. Thanks a lot for that.
Everytime I listen to this theme I imagine the Kokiri Children having fun in the forest, dancing, playing instruments, having fun with each other and the wild animals.
You know that something is a true musical masterpiece when the music alone makes your imagination go wild, and you can just see the perfect scenario for it in your head. The first section of the piece. It's a rainy and cold night. A young hylian woman is walking across the plains and enters a forest to escape the harsh weather and the terrible conflict that sent her away. She doesn't have much strenght and shivers from the cold winds that chill her to the bone, but she pushes on step by step. Inside the forest she finds a wooden bridge over a valley, a slimmer of hope. And across the bridge, there appears to be a small village, with small houses. The woman almost smiles but then finds the village completely deserted. With no trace of any inhabitans, her hopes are shattered. When about to give up, hope presents itself once again. She listens and hears something in the distance. Music. Strange music. With determination she limps towards the source across the deserted village. (Lost Woods theme starts slowly kicking in with the flute) Meanwhile, we are taken to a small meadow surrounded by cliffs. In the middle of the Meadow stands a Great Tree, as high as the highest tower of any castle. In front of the Tree are fireplaces, and around each fireplace, small children in green and many strange magical creatures. Some of these children are playing instruments of drums, flutes and pipes -- others are dancing in circles. Dancing with them are visitors and their king from a friendly tribe -- living bushes and Scrubs jumping in the beat of the music, their leaves rattle from their steps like instruments of their own. But these children and plants are not the only magical creatures celebrating. Above the fires are what what seems like hundreds of tiny winged orbs in all kinds of diffrent colors, illuminating the entire meadow in lights more powerful than any fire. Though only seen as orbs from afar, on close inspection their silhouettes show the beatiful features of tiny people. Some of these fairies are holding hands and dance wildly along with their friends below. Some form circles that spin in all directions, left and right, up and down. Others chase eashother in twirling swarms. Those of the forest creatures that are not dancing are instead playing without care in the majestic meadow. Some of the children are locked in a fierce contest of marksmanship with the living Scrubs. The children shooting targets with slingshots and the Scrubs spitting seeds from their mouths. (The music slowly transitions to the sad part). Others chase eachother with wooden swords and shields (as you hear the toys strike eachother, you don't hear the sound of wood, but the clash of metal). But for all their carefree nature, tragedy looms over their doorstep. A hylian woman is walking, or rather limping, among them. Entranced in their dancing, they do not notice her immidiately, but when they do, the music comes to a quick stop. They all quietly cower away in fear from her tall stature, they have never seen a person so big and they are afraid. But their fear is soon replaced with sadness. The woman limps towards the Great Tree and falls over. With one hand she clenches her abdomen, and in one hand she carries something close to her body. The Great Tree moves and speaks in a voice that reverberates in the entire meadow. (Lost Woods theme has stopped completely). "Why have you come here Hylian? This forest is sacred and forbidden for your violent kind to enter." She holds out her trembling arms and places what she carries on the grass in front of her and the Great Tree, revealing her child and her injuries at the same time. "Please save him.", the Hylian woman begs. "The forest is only for children of the Kokiri". "Please... save..." she pleads again before drawing her last breath. The mother passed away before the crowd, and only the burning of the fire could be heard in the meadow that had been so full of life moments earlier. The Deku Tree took great pity on the child and the mother, but he also sensed that the destiny of this Hylian child was connected to the fate of not only the forest, but all of Hyrule. And so he ordered his children to take the orphan and raise it as a true Kokiri. The King of the Deku Scrub tribe thanked the Kokiri for their hospitality and offered to carry away the mother, in order to perform the rituals for the peaceful passing of her soul, so that it may not be trapped in the forest forever and become an evil spirit (stalfos). When all had left the meadow, a single acorn fell softly from the high branches of the Great Deku Tree. The acorn hatched and inside it there eminated a powerful blue light. Two faries approached the light and took it in their arms. "Do you plan to give that child a guardian fairy, even though it is not a true Kokiri?" One of the fairies asked? "Two children have joined our family this fateful night. Their destiny is not yet certain, but they are now intertwined."
Whenever I get to 1:47 I always imagine. A main character in *any* fantasy, walking through a lively and happy village, bustling with animals traders and merchants. It’s amazing really. When I first heard this music in terrible fate, I was in love, and tried to look for it. Looked for it for a month. Worth it.
"Your soul leads you to the depths of the forest, the wildest of the monsters, the greatest of swords, but your heart is still your ultimate weapon, don't give up now! You have to keep fighting link! Fight the shadows! Never give up! Never surrender!" - literally the shadow that link needs to fight
That random "yeah" caught me off guard, this is an amazing adaptation of the lost woods song, please keep making amazing music, I subscribed a little bit ago and I'd love to hear some more music from you.
Oh. My. God. Just wonderful. Makes shivers down my spine. I was in the wood. First, there was fear, then curiosity. I began to run, my feet were hiting the ground. They began to dance, and I was turning and crying under the rain, while hidden fairies were smiling between the leaf. I fell, a lot of times, but feel no pain. It became slowly darker and darker. They took my hands, drag me in the wood, in the deepest forest I had ever seen, but I was not worried, there was no fear, no sadness anymore, just an endless feast....
Imagine you reach the first tree of a Forrest, the Melody starts playing and the sticks and stones under your feets rustles. As u get even deeper in the Forrest, the Music is getting rougher and the beads of sweat in your face gets cold. There's a clearing in the center of the Forrest and now you can only feel the cold grip of your sword while staring in the eyes of a Mystical being
Incredible. Captures all the emotions this track has to offer. Feeling lost, joy of childish adventure and the melancholi of leaving your childhood behind. Bravo!

So, when I’m in a bad mood I go for long walks in the woods behind my house and blast music and earlier I decided to play this while I walked. Let’s just say it was magical
This and deku palace are my two favorite songs right now. I can’t stop listening. I am so eagerly waiting for the next album I can hardly contain myself.
I’ve never played The Legend Of Zelda, i know a little bit of the story and the original song, but this one, the emotions that make me feel, is awesome. I even started crying because of how beautiful the song is, the emotions it conveys are amazing. Very hard to get
This gives me goosebumps and happiness every listen. I'm guessing most people won't notice Link's screaming in the background. Once you notice it, you're welcome for the goosebumps haha. Listen close for the 'AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHH'.
The arrangement itself is great, but I think my favorite part of this piece is the ambient noises like leaves rustling and footsteps and water. A very engrossing track.
Theophany is definitely one of my favourite indie-composers. The production quality of your music is absolutely insane. Especially this one has some of the highest quality recording and mixing, that I've ever heard.
I don't know if it was the spicy food I was eating while listening to this song or what but I wept while listening to this, it was so powerful. This kind of masterpiece would be worthy of playing in a zelda movie or something, just WOW
I come back to this song like every other year and the feeling that dwells over me while listening at nights is something I’m too stupid to put into words that will do it justice, but it’s just, euphoric in a way. I feel a bittersweet warmth in my heart listening to something so damn beautiful that it makes me want to cry at points. In all my years of listening to different types of music, this one is going to forever be one of the few compositions I will never want to forget
how can i have gone 6 years without hearing this masterpiece until now! youtube failed with recommendations XD as i have not been recommended this video yet!
In my head every time I hear this song, I think of a little boy running from his home village that was destroyed and then discovering an underground utopia of a new race of people, and one accepts the boy as one of their own, they try to teach him how to dance because the village festival is approaching and if he cant dance he wont be accepted, then he finally learns and that "HYA!" kicks off the dance sequence and is accepted into their culture. and now you will never be able to unsee this.
This reminds me of the lost woods in general From lonely and lacking any kind of life save for the forest of corse to filled with life and joy to once again lonely and lifeless where only the koroks and great deku tree live, there’s not much left and there a almost less, most of trees lack leaves
Two weeks ago I was riding my bike at night next to a little forest. A bat flew towards me, up close to my left side - and matched my speed, flying to the left of my head. Another bat came, flew ahead of me and matched my speed as well. I don't know why - maybe my helmet looked like a bat in ultrasound - but for about half a minute I was a part of the formation. And my earphones were playing - exactly this track. It couldn't have been more perfect for my short moment as a member of a bat squadron. The animals then flew upwards and... I didn't.
Some people make music. You make an experience.

Absolutely magnificent.
GODDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN THOSE GOOSEBUMPS ON EVERY REPLAY
This reminds me of the lost woods in general
From lonely and lacking any kind of life save for the forest of corse to filled with life and joy to once again lonely and lifeless where only the koroks and great deku tree live, there’s not much left and there a almost less, most of trees lack leaves
I didn't.
