    I wish you talked about the growth spurts because it is the reason why a lot of women give up breastfeeding as they think they just dry up.
    It works by 3-6-9. At 3-6-9 days, 3-6-9 weeks and most importantly 3-6-9 months, baby needs to feed a lot more. They ask for the boob intensively for about 2 days. The mother's body doesn't have time to adjust to it straight away, so they might not get all the milk that they want to have. But that's ok, and because of supply and demand, the body is going to get the information that it needs to produce more. And after a couple of days, everything is back to normal. The supply of milk meets the baby's demand.
    SO many women give up breastfeeding when baby is 3 months old because they think they don't produce enough. I wish mothers knew about this.

      I love this hopefully women read this. So many women give up because they think they are not producing enough. This can also happen during the evening time. Some women also pump and think thats all they have so they stop.

I'm not gonna lie i would pump only when my breast would start leaking so my supply is low right now but I'm back to pumping pumping pumping because I can't give up i gotta get my supply back ... Thank you for letting us ftm know not to give up

      Wow. This literally saved me. Baby is about to be at 6weeks. And during 3weeks I was having to give him formula while I was power pumping. I thought I was going insane thinking I lost my supply. Then the following week I had graduation and wasn’t able to feed all day... which messed up my supply even more. Finally getting back on track now

      OMG I miss that stage already and my baby isn’t even 2 yet. Oye but if you’re doing on demand, don’t count the minutes on each boob, it’s better to feed as long as baby wants and then offer the other and on the next feed start with the last one you offered. And make sure you give him as much he/she wants every time all day all night, seems like forever but for the first weeks it’s importantísimo to establish your milk supply. Cómo dice Dulce, it’s supply and demand and the baby sucking, plus feeling him close and the enzymes in his saliva are the best way. Try not to pump early, it’s better after week six. Dulce has a specific situation and that’s why she is doing it this way ❤️ enjoy your baby much and congratulations ❤️❤️❤️

      Jennifer S It’s ok momma! Your baby appreciates your milk no matter what! Even the moms who don’t breastfeed. I exclusively pumped my first month. My baby couldn’t take my boob at the time. To hear your baby latched at six weeks gives me hope! May I ask, what was that process like? How did you get your baby to finally latch at 6 weeks? Thanks!!

    Second time breast feeding over here and so much easier this time around. First time I was so nervous not knowing if baby was getting enough and taking so much supplements and eating stuff that really wasn’t needed and it made me pack on the pounds. I think we see all these mommas pumping and storing insane amounts of milk and good for them but the reality is most people unless they’re spending tons of time away from their baby don’t wed to do that. You don’t always have to have a stash of milk. The reason I mention this is because I believe this is why a lot of moms gets discouraged and think they don’t make enough milk when they actually do and by the way what you see in your pump is not what you actually have in your boob and some women aren’t responsive to the pump so you can pump and pump and not see much and just give up. I almost did until I started paying attention to baby and she was having tons of wet diapers and real good weight gain which is what you want to see. I drink lots of water now and make my own oatmeal cookies and that’s about it. Please don’t think you need to do all these things and all these supplements to get milk. Some mommas may actually not produce enough but that’s actually the exception and not rule and you want to be careful with pumping you don’t want to create an over supply I know it sounds like something good but it can be a nightmare. Just eat well drink lots of fluids and put the baby to the breast frequently and as long as you’re getting lots of wet diapers and baby looks happy and is gaining weight you are just fine. Well this was way longer than I intended it to be but hope it helps someone.

      I know just how you feel my baby girl was born at 30 weeks the nurses doctors all say pump every two hours as if your baby was home and needed to feed, honestly it’s hard cause my baby isn’t home so to get up in the middle of the night was draining especially when I’m driving back and forth to the hospital twice a day to visit her in the nicu. But your right giving the breast milk is the best especially for them being born so early which is why I do . The lactation counselor are so awesome when you start to nurse definitely have one come and help.

    Long comment but worth it!! Red meat (not lean chicken, we need fatty protein), eggs, walnuts, red raisins, blue Gatorade and 60 ounces of water a day did wonders for my supply, and helped my milk maintain the fat needed to help the baby pack on the weight. Went from 1.5 ounces from both breast to 12 ounces overall every 3 hours. If you lay the ground work at the beginning it becomes easier in the long haul. I started feeding/pumping 7 sessions at first and was able to cut down to 5 sessions after 3 months with 3 of those pumps happening while at work! You have to make your body work smarter not harder for you. So the more your baby demand milk, the more it’ll tell your body to make more, even if nothing’s happening at first. And also remember, for some women your supply won’t come in for up to 8-10 weeks after the baby is born! Don’t be so hard on yourself if you have to give the baby formula. It’s not the end of the world but don’t give up if on breastfeeding if you can, as your passing on your immune system to the baby, plus you’ll lose a ton of weight as an added bonus!

    Great information provided. I’ve been a nicu nurse for 8 1/2 years and am currently working on getting my lactation consultant certification. I’ve worked along side LCs for 8 1/2 years. So lots of what dulce said is great helpful information. I do want to add though please follow American academy of pediatric guidelines when it comes to proper sleep items for babies. As well the mother milk tea has a side effect I’ve seen personally many times is bloody stools so just be cautious when taking it. Look into local lactation consultants available to people in your area. And lastly someone commented about formula reducing supply. That’s not true I gave my daughter formula for a month until we got a schedule and milk supply was best. I never pumped extra to increase my supply I just made sure I breastfed first all the time. All women are different, I’ve seen plenty of moms who actually have a condition that does not allow them to have breastmilk and weren’t aware that was possible. In the end Just remember FED IS BEST!

      I have two kids and I’m pregnant right now. I did not breastfed neither kid. I pumped and pumped at the hospital with my first and nothing came out just 2 drops. And for my second I just gave up figured i don’t have milk because neither do my dads sisters give milk. Right now I am so confident I can get milk because watching women like Dulce Candy provide ideas and encourage not to give up but I do have that doubt,that maybe I cannot supply. 😒🤔 maybe I am one of those women who cannot at all breastfeed.

      I’m an exclusive pumper as well. My son was born 4 weeks early and not able to breathe on his own. He was in the nicu. He’s 6 months now and I have not had to supplement with formula. It’s hard in the beginning but I promise it gets better. I was pumping 10 times a day around the clock when I first started. Now I’m producing less but more than enough for him a day. I was able to create a large stock pile. To avoid clogged ducts I suggest washing your nipples with warmer water after pumping and squeezing your nipples a little to remove the milk drops stuck. Then let them air dry before putting your bra back on. This has helped me so much! I only pump 3x a day now. After I’ve taken care of him in the morning about 9am , 3pm, and 9 pm.

    I think your tips are good, but really, it’s not necessary to pump so often. If you can do it, great. But in order to bring in your milk effectively and keep it, is to nurse the baby literally as much as you can throughout the day. I just had my second, and he nursed literally 24/7. He’s 2 months old and my milk supply has never been this good. I’d go crazy having to pump that much. I just don’t want moms to feel that they need to pump THAT much especially if they work full time out of the house. But she’s right, it’s all about supply and demand. It’s the only way.

      Agreed. If it helps, I am at 6+ month of breastfeeding my daughter and I pumped only twice in those 6 months. Once for daddy to try feeding her with a bottle (didn't work but it didn't matter for us as I am always there) and once to store 1 portion of milk in the freezer just in case I had an emergency that would separate my daughter and me for a couple of hours.
      So pumping wasn't necessary, yet my daughter is perfectly healthy, gains weight and gets A LOT of wet nappies/diapers.
      I was also personally advised not to pump during the first 6 weeks because it would create an over supply and I could risk an engorgement.

I literally was set to quit pumping 4 days ago because I was only able to pump 10-12 oz a day the last 6 weeks where it had been 20 oz before that. But I decided last minute to try the spectra pump. Not only that, a momma that I follow made some really good points about it that really resonated with me and made think. It’s important to not lose ourselves in all these products they make to make our lives “easier more convenient” because babies have needs specially newborns and I know cause I have a 3 month old too.
      “I have never been a fan of this product. It is designed to replace and replicate what a baby needs. It’s mother! I don’t want anything to replace me. I am the pacifier. I am the soother. I am the comforter. Most babies don’t sleep throughout the night. Babies wake up frequently because they need to. The purpose of the SNOO is to keep a baby from waking and crying. A baby has to wake up every few hours to feed. A product that encourages a baby to sleep for longer periods of time is not physiologically advantageous for either safety or feeding purposes.” -Dr.Courtney

    Wow, this video is so informative! I saved it for when I get pregnant with my second because honest to God I already forgot the drill on breastfeeding. And my first just turned 3. Sadly, I stopped at 4 months the first time. My tip based on what I did wrong is never stop giving the boob, always offer your breast first and try to relax and make it a bonding moment. I associated breastfeeding with stress and I know I sent a message and atmosphere of stress to my baby, on the other hand when feeding him breastmilk in a bottle I had zero stress. He soon stopped taking my breast and wanted only the bottle and my breastmilk of course stopped coming in so I had to formula feed after really and honestly giving up out of the stress of it all. I basically stressed myself for no reason until exhaustion. I hope this helps someone. I know for my second, I’ll know at least what NOT to do. Don’t stress babes! You got this! Xoxo
    Edit: After finishing this video now I know I also committed the error of giving the regular sized nipple when bottle feeding. So I made it easier to bottle feed than breastfeed. Wow Dulce, this video is GOLD. Thank you so much bella!

    Wonderfully done video Dulce, my baby is now 4 months and I struggled with milk supply as well but you hit everything that worked for me. If I could add something else would be having skin to skin with baby for an hour per day. After doing skin to skin my supply increased noticeably, just try different positions where your sore breasts wont get scratched by baby. Best of luck to all the new mommas, be patient don’t stress you are doing amazing. 🥰😘😘

And i had no one to help me, because my mom and mother-in-law didn't give me any good advice, even though both of them had more than 1 child. I didn't have a lactation consultant and it wasn't even a thing at that time, where i come from. I wish i was into youtube back then and that i found a video like this.

    My baby is 3weeks old
    his breastfed mostly. Having a hard time staying consistent with pumping cause I was a little discouraged by the amount I was getting out, and I also have other children to take care of n house chores . Little bit of laziness too. So do you have to pump?? I try to nurse him as much and stay hydrated. Definitely understand your video. The more you empty out the breast the body will make more milk

    • @msmarsi009
      @msmarsi009 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You only have to pump if your trying to increase your milk supply or you are returning to work and need to make a freezer stash. Otherwise if you feed your baby on demand your body will adapt to their needs. Also remember the amount you pump is not an indicator of how much milk you have.

    Hi dulce, was wondering what formula you feed your baby ? I myself had my baby 36 weeks. He just turned 1 month this past Monday. Breastfeeding is a challenge for me and milk supply as well, I’m trying everything so thank u for this video. I’m having to do 90% formula and 10% breast milk I noticed my baby doesn’t like powder so I have to do liquid formula and still be fighting it. So stressful and formula you suggest? Currently on Enfamil the purple one, the regular yellow one was too much for my baby.

  • @moykogirl
    @moykogirl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You do not have to pump. As long as you are feeding your baby on demand your supply will be exactly what your baby needs. Pumping tells your body that the baby needs more than it is drinking. This can cause engorgment and may even lead to clogged ducts/mastitis if you don’t continue emptying your breasts as often as you are. Mommas need rest and sleep. Feeding every 2 hours and then still pumping can get very exhausting very soon.

    Alright I have to day two things that happen to me that is definitely different then yours.. by that, all babies are different.
    The haakah does not or did not work on me unless the baby on breast. The letdown has to be stimulated. Other then that they don’t work.
    The second one is that I had to much milk coming out that my nipples were giving the baby more milk the then nipple I’m the bottle. So thanks fully I don’t have a problem on using bottle and breast :)
