    To all the new mommas out there: don't be discouraged. I was worried because I wasn't pumping much at first. I was maybe getting an ounce each time. At 8 weeks my supply suddenly increased and I was pumping 32 ounces a day. At 3 months I could pump 4 times a day, 30 minutes per session, and get 32 ounces per day. I didn't do anything special with diet or water, it just took time and consistency with pumping/feeding. If there is a next time, I will trust my body more.

    I struggled with breastfeeding, I wish I could have been the main source of food for my son but that wasn't the case it broke my heart. I tried for a month and half but my milk just decreased day after day. I was so stressed and I think that just added onto everything I wasn't eating much I was so stressed. Being a first time mom, having my husband working 10-12 hours a day and all of my family on the other side of the country was just very difficult on me. Hopefully I'm a future pregnancy I'll be a lot more educated and possibly be able to breastfeed. I'm all for fed is best, but I loved the bond that is experienced during this stage in our lives.

    Pumping in the night is AWFUL especially when bubs is sleeping through or long stretches, but our milk making hormones are higher at night (so is lipase but that's another comment) so we generally pump more at night even when we go the same amount of time between pumping sessions. So when building a supply it's important to get at least one pump session in at night.

    I pump 3 times a day, morning, afternoon and evening. I get 6 Oz out of each breast each time I pump, so I pump around 36 Oz a day. Sometimes the right breast is short half an oz so I just complete it with the left which often overflows the bottle I pump into. All I do is take fenugreek. I breastfeed only if my son if he wakes up in the middle of the night because it sooths him but for the most part I bottle feed him my breastmilk because 1. I can track exactly how much he is eating, 2. Because he has a problem latching (since forever) and 3. Because my freezer is filling up so much and I have no extra storage so I have to feed him what I pump so my freezer doesn't overflow. But I honestly don't do any of this stuff other than take fenugreek and drink water, no special diet or anything. I will though take some of her advise because I want to keep my supply. And I will buy a little freezer as well. I guess I'm blessed with my supply 🙏

    Thanks so much for making this video. I'm in a full blown panic: my baby is almost 4 weeks old and one week ago my milk supply abruptly stopped and I have no idea why. I used to be able to pump around 4 to 6 ounces per pumping session and now I pump about 1.5 ounces. My baby currently drinks around 2 to 2.5 ounces per feeding, so I don't produce enough to feed my own child. I'm sure the stress is not helping my supply. I'm currently doing breast milk when I can and then supplementing with formula. I bought most of the stuff you suggested and I truly hope it works!

Also put baby to the breast after pumping and he/she will still (miraculously) still get so .net e milk out and this also further stimulates milk production

      Breast milk hormones are highest at night time between 1am and 5am. So when you wake up to feed your child put the pump on the other breast and pump.
      If you slack with night feeds your supply will dip. You will be sleep deprived but it’s just how it is love

    I had a feeling about making a milk supply and worked so hard to get about 100 oz stored away. I exclusively breast fed my first three babies. Never once did they have a bottle. Well I'm 3 months postpartum with my forth baby and had a almost complete stop in milk. Ran through all my stash real fast and had to buy formula to keep my baby feed! I'm still struggling and this helps so much! I got about 3/4 of my milk back but still not enough to keep my baby full all day

    100% agree with the coconut water! Game changer. I like Goya’s coconut water with the pulp. It’s 80% young coconut milk with the rest as water. It does have added sugar so please make note of that BUT it’s inexpensive (98 cents at Walmart per big 17 oz can), I actually enjoy drinking it, and it does rehydrate me thoroughly when I need a break from water. 😊

    How long do you pump after each feeding? Do you ever worry you are taking the milk from baby and won't have enough for when they are ready to eat? Also when do you power pump? Am? Or pm? And do you do it after the baby eats?

    • @mamabearjones5968
      @mamabearjones5968 6 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Power pump early morning! Your prolactin levels will be highest around 3/4 am (which I know sucks!) but after two to three days of waking up at that time to power pump you will notice a big difference! I exclusively pumped for my second daughter because she was born with a cleft and I made 45-50 oz a day and was able to exclusively feed her bm and have over 1000 oz stored by the time she was 6 months old! Breastfeeding is a commitment for sure!

      You'll always have enough milk for baby. Your breasts are like a river more than a tank. You don't have to wait for them to refill. The fullness you can sometimes feel is your breasts getting full but even if you where to pump that your baby would still have milk

    • @hedgemist691
