Astonishing and terrifying in equal part. To have to live like that, hidden entirely underground, in order to be able to survive, is terrifying to imagine. And yet this is also a story of human courage and determination, against such daunting odds … an incredible video. And the guide does an amazing job at giving a flavour of what it was like for those who retreated down there. An utterly engaging😊 video on so many different levels!

In Southern California, near Palm Desert, a city was found. A man was cutting across the desert after his car had quit. He saw a door on the desert floor, open. He went a little inside but with no flashlight he quit. After his car repairs were done he returned with lights and a friend. They walked very far under ground going up. Found a city. Found a high-water mark on the mountain with maybe five tiedowns for huge barges. This area is a desert now. They talked the news paper into an article, but then the editor dropped everything. The 2. men went to find the upper level entrances and were never seen again.

they shouldn't have disclosed their identities.. at least not until the whole nearby village has already known and saw it- way before the media should... unfortunate "accidents" or sudden disappearances happens often with some people who find discoveries that ''the pøwėrs that be'' don't want the masses to know.
also that part about counting time starting from an underground refuge is fascinating, where did you learn of it? Is it from a documentary or book? Sumerian lore again? Everything seriously seems tied to that at some point......

@@raynaives9804 incredibly stressful is more like it... those pathways look too narrow when you're in a hurry or carrying a load (like the injured or a corpse), and I can't imagine having to relieve yourself there when everything is so tight and cramped.. the smell might stick unless they used smoke to clean the area and everyone is gonna be sweaty from too much shared body heat in summer.
They also didn't mention on the video whether the ones in hiding had a way to extract human and animal waste without getting caught.. maybe sand buckets lined with moss?

@weneedmoreconsideratepeopl4006 I was talking from a visitor/time traveller perspective, since that was the topic... From the perspective of someone who lived during that time, sure, it would've been awful. But it'd be fascinating for someone not of that time/location.
