WOW! This is one of if not the best landing and approach that I have seen. Not only the crew was outstanding, but the camera angles, different views, sounds and video editing were also just stunning. So cinematic, I felt like watching a movie. Mad props to the creators of this!
I CANNOT BELIEVE this shot this pre go pro era. Noticed the huge cables duck tapped on PM side and the massive camera on top of the dash, then only could make it out, the video quality and the way the PF explains the whole approach is just beautiful. Thanks!
Awesome.....most tricky landing. The most important parameter is invisible random and wayward..the Wind ! Also the runway profile. This crew I have seen in an earlier video...simply tops ! Cool and professional and on top of the situation.

The "old" La Palma airport is indeed the last built a few years ago since the real old was up on the mountains. Canary Islands enjoy a varied landscape and great climate, from the dry and flat eastern to the green and montanious western islands. Crosswinds and termic bumps make tricky flight conditions for takeoff and landing, and the mountains limit the size of the airfields and also the traffic for long range airplanes. Terrific school for pilots... and sailmen. Anyhow Canarias is the most popular tourist region in Europe in terms of nights spent, being Tenerife and eastern islands the most visited. I see and hope that lessons learned since the deadliest air disaster in Tenerife, more than forty years left, have contributed to a safer flight and better awareness, including automatic air traffic control systems (SACTA in Spanish). Congratulations for this video and to the German people who have the priviledge to fly to Isla Bonita, as it is not easy for me to get a nonstop flight ticket from Madrid.
La Palma is the Canary Island to go to if you like volcanoes! The Cumbre Vieja is a ridge, with a fissure atop it, through which individual cones poke their heads. What is awesome is that to get from one side of the island to the other, you drive THROUGH the Cumbre Vieja road tunnel. Just love La Palma!
super interessant!
RNAV 21 in Nantes (LFRS) has the same kind of challenge. 14 degrees off set to avoid the city, visual manoeuvring to finals and landing on a runway with a "broken dogleg" for a profile, going down at the displaced threshold first, going up at the touchdown zone, going down again after, before rising up again.
Joop Klepzeiker I remember the times b4 EU. When I wanted to buy something with quality, I always looked for “Made in Germany”. Back than you knew it was a quality item.
@ chris keller. The reason for the 180 turn clearance amendment ( to expedite) is that the controller has to clear one departure & another arrival, so needs the runway cleared as soon as possible ( the arriving traffic has allready been requested to reduce speed ( and informed why)
I live just near the airport. I can tell what time of day it is by which plane is taking off.. once every two weeks, or so ,they have to land and takeoff from the other direction of the airport. Because of winds .
I don’t speak German, but one thing is for sure…. the wind limit to operate in SPC is 15Kt, not 50Kt, (210°-310°), as the English subtitles state. Someone got lost in translation here… Up in the air since 1989.
wow that's hard...wondering how they make it look such "easy"....the desirable part is such short taxi hehe....in some big airports not such an easy going dhhdhhddd......nice video dudes thank you very much.

Great example of team work and focus. As a private pilot this video makes it clear how nice and helpful it is to have a copilot.

I've flown as a passenger to this airport a few times and the approach and landing there are just awesome.

I am most impressed by these pilot's skills! this type of landing is definitely requires only the best and most experienced of pilots!
Very detailed video. I enjoyed. The pilot who is landing for the first time, definitely needs the help of others. Thanks.

Excellent approach and perfect landing. Lovely external view. Thank you for this capture. Many more happy landings.
Awesome to watch this in 10/2021, considering all that is happening 10 km to the west of the runway this month.

Such a calm and composed PF. Really a great piece of piloting. And the PNF was also very precise and thorough with her points. Very good CRM
What a beautiful approach! Great job to the pilots!!
Wir sind selbst dort gelandet und konnten vom Zimmer aus Landung und Start beobachten. Echt große Leistung 😊
Phenomenal piloting and such amazing camera work!
Absolute top notch first class aviation videos!!! Thank you
so beautiful filmed from all kind of angles and views.
these pilots are so cool i take my hat off to them all...i get more worked up driving over the mountains to the nearest town ...
LOVE the camera work on these videos - it's impeccable (sorry for all those who don't like it).
I'm very impressed with this crew. I'll fly with either of them ANY DAY.
I love the movie editing with multiple cameras views
Nice video. Very well done. The multi camera aspects worked fantastic, showing the aircraft approach.
A rare, calm day at La Palma airport.
Sporting approach and landing, well executed. Nose gear right on the center line.
Impressive and professional crew. Wonderful to experience. Been to La Palma twice.
Spectacular landing. Prompts to the crew 👏

Been 6 times - amazing landing there. Mount Teide on Tenerife is huge.
The pilots made it look easy.
Wow, those pilots are first class.
What's WOW got to do with it, fool?
Even as a passenger it´s always fun to land at GCLA. Great video!
Impressive video! @11:52 It takes a lot of trust to taxi nose to nose with another airplane lined up on the same runway!
Amazing flying ..good for many people in plane..🤔😜Thx for sharing ! Best regards from Canada!🍁👍💕🍷👌🍁

LOL....that radar altimeter read out voice seems to need a cup of coffee! It does sound like it is a bit sleepy, or bored.

Boeing's does not say RETARD. Newer Airbus radio altimeter sounds better, even a bit sexy
That's why my AI Flight Simulator aircraft refuse to land there :)
Super Video. Sehr gute Erklärungen durch die Crew. Echt sehenswert.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏Lovely landing can’t get enough of this approach 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Whow ! very impressive I was quite nervous watching that.
Yeah I was surprised by how cool the captain was. Granted he'd done the approach a few times before, but it's a real display of professionalism.
If watching skilled pros do their job in a professional and 'under control' way makes you nervous... never watch an open heart surgery.
That was absolutely amazing.
such a great crew.
Interesting approach and smooth landing... And the first officer is gorgeous!
I have nothing but respect for these pilots to do a fantastic job.
Really excellent job! I enjoy all the different angles, amazing footage. And the co-pilot is fine! Bonus!
Die Kanaren immer eine Reise Wert! Nicht einfach, wenn Crosswind und Upwind richtig bläst. Sauber gelandet! 😂😎🤠
