    I bought the module it was great .It started on fire and shorted out my battery. They work good on boats in the water but my Cavalier wasn't a boat.I did get lifetime oil changes till GM started crying by year 16 when I was there every 3 months as permanual and they lost $ 1,800.00 dollars.

    A rust inhibitor module makes no sense for a car. They were developed for use on boats and are used on some bridges, but the fact that a car is on rubber tires means that that is essentially a paperweight that's drawing battery charge and doing nothing.

    • @carsunlocked
      @carsunlocked  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      thanks for commenting the value of these inhibitors is certainly in the warranty

    Bought a 2007 Mustang in 2010. And got rid of it in 2023. So that is 13 years of owning it. Idk if the original owner rust proofed it or not. And half the time it was outside in all types of weather, snow, ice, rain, 100 degree days etc.... I never rust proofed it. All I had only done was just give it 2 or 3 coats of wax on it every year, and that was it. And if its snows or rains etc....next day or 2 or 3 days after, wash it and wash under the car, just at a typical car wash. And right before got rid of it, looked under it and it was just starting to rush out on the bottom of it, but barley no rust. But now just bought a 2022 truck last year, and just got done rust proofing it.

    I bought a brand new 2023 Mazda cx5 today! Build date, is April. I'm picking it up at the Mazda dealer in Sudbury later this week after they PDI and license it.
    Today, they tried selling me this electronic rust proofing device, guaranteed to rust proof my vehicle for "up to" 10 years. Apparently, it's fully transferrable should I decide to sell my cx5 in the future. The package also comes with a paint protection coat and some interior leather protection as well. The cost is $1,500.
    Like everyone else in my position would do, I'm now googling and YouTubing some info on this "electronic rust proofing device". So far, my search indicates that it's pretty much a scam, although I have come across a few positive reviews as well.
    Please be honest, do you recommend it? Does it actually work?
    Thanks!

      as i mentioned in the video whether it works or not the value is in the warranty. Make sure you get something in writing regarding the warranty and repairs of any rust that occurs. If you can do this I would recommend

      The warranty part is what I was looking at as well. However when talking to the dealer (In my case it was Toyota), they couldn't even give a clear answer to any of my questions. Such as,
      What parts of the car do it cover?
      Answer: Don't cover the bottom part of your window and up.
      Question 2: How much rust needs to occur before the warranty kicks in? No real answer
      What are they willing to fix due to rust? Again no real answer.
      I just don't want it to be something like a mattress warranty where they replace the mattress due to sag in the middle but you end up finding out that it needs to reach unrealistic depths in order for the mattress warranty to kick in. So the warranty part is also where I'm skeptic.

    Do not go with the rustproof module. Dealers should be ashamed offering this as an option. Yes it’s tech that’s used on steel/alum hulled boats, but a boat hull is one continuous body. A car consists of many body components that are effectively isolated from each other because of paint and are not efficient at conducting. electrical current - not a magnetic pulse- cannot effectively conduct throughout the entire car. Rustproofing is probably the most cost effective, although does require annual/biannual treatments.

    Wont make a bit of difference. The rust needs to create a hole they can stick a fimger through in order to warrenty it. Thst will happen long after the warrenty expires. Its a money grab by dealerships.
