first time I saw this live on TV, it was 2 A.M., I was thinking "the last one, I'm going to bed". Couldn't fall asleep afterwards, and went out for a ride. This sound hauted me for 2 days...
Before I discover Gojira Tool was the most hypnotic band I had heard. Gojira is much more than that. These beats and rhythms do something to my brain. Such an amazing band.
just saw these guys open for mastodon in portland last night and this song was the best by far the entire night...the whole crowd went from moshing to being put into a trance. One of the best endings to a song i've ever heard live.
@Dick3ClarkAss I think their excellence has been consistent. But I think Mario shines a lot more nowadays; The Way of All Flesh made me realize he might just be the best drummer I've ever heard. The Art of Dying includes THE most impressive drumming I've ever heard.
One of the coolest things about this song, other than Christian on that ride, and Mario and Jean-Michel being absolute monsters on Drums and Bass, is that the outro is an auditory representation of the last few lyrics: Joe defies the universe so hard that it blasts him out into space. The outro is him literally leaving Earth and being projected through the cosmos.
Holy Cowshit..Saw them at Wacken this year, and I am still green in my forehead, by the grass, cause, I headbanged so much, I had to spare my neck a little, but They are absolutely sick, espacially live, there are so much power from that fucking stage.. Thanx, finally, France can offer more than wine & arrogance...
A lot of the songs on Magma are underwhelming for me as well, but I'm willing to give it a pass considering the emotional event that led to its influence. The death of a parent is unlike anything else a person can experience.
These guys are such beasts, i saw them a week after their mother's death, if it wasnt the first show they did after that it was very close to it. They delivered an hell of a show without any flaw or shadow of what happened. How is it possible that they split the situations without like a single breakdown. Magma is surely the repression of all those feelings.
This is commando , we're up a shit creek with no goddamn fuckin floats, oh man! (I'm not sure that's the actual thing they say, this is what I've been able to make out of it)
Please can someone translate 3:29 for me...I have this whole concert on DVD and this song is my favourite on there and I have always wanted to know what he says....seeing them on Sat in Bristol..can't wait
@Dick3ClarkAss I agree. The Way of All Flesh is good, but it's leaning toward the more boring side of Gojira. The Link is a bit too raw for my liking. Now, Terra Incognita is right in the middle of the two. That's perfection.
I heard this yesterday live and was wondering, the drawn out outro part, is that something they just came up with when performing it live? Cause I don't remember it from any of their songs. They also played ''Terra Inc.'' which is the hidden outro part of ''In the Forest'', but this outro seems exclusive to live performances. It's very cool though.
they just make unbelievable live performances, they like to add some special treats while playing live.. pretty sure that was prepared, like they've been jamming, repeating the original track, came up with this outro and went like "ok lets actually do that in one live at some point" :)
i wanna see them live they are probably the best band live they say iron maiden is yeah right these guys make iron maiden look like high school teens starting up
Gojira are very respectful of Maiden (and classic metal bands in general), so there's no need for the grade school insults. Gojira is great for brutality, Maiden is great for driving anthems - both are awesome in their own way on stage.
Fun fact: This is the only Gojira song with swearing in it!
And one of the few with French lyrics
Do you know French?!😂
that opening screen/growl is crazy, old gojira's heavy as fuck.

Brando850 did they really fucking played it again ??
@@erradate6425 seriously, they did. With the outro too.
@@erradate6425 during the outro, it felt like a drug I never tried before, in a good way. I literally said "What the fuck." Best show I've ever seen.
I think Joe said in an interview that this song is his favourite song from Terra Incognita, nice that they play it again \m/
I was there too!
Love how they just let that shit ride on for that long...made me think so deeply.
When the sun rose there was nothing but rubble where a music venue once stood
I seriously just lose my mind with this song. Feels like I'm going in a trance. Too good!
It's probably because you are. Enjoy and learn.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVEEERRSE!
those syncopes between ride and snare after 2:00
That, together with the sexy two-bell groove at 0:46 (he doesn't play it in this live version I think). Mario plays metal with lots of musical taste.

Wish we cld have shows like this here again. Now you have to be about 5 to 8 feet away.
