I’m starting tomorrow since it was the only job I was able to find. Tbh it seems chill and for $21 for a part time it gives me enough time to attend my second year in college.
I just started last week. Tonight is my first night of overtime. It kind of feels like “did I make the right choice?” … so far I made a connection with the orientation trainer… I another sup has my number saved in his phone, I’m just trying to make real bonds and let ppl know I’m trying to be a driver one day. Idc how long it takes. I’m in Philly at the airport location. I have worked the unloading truck area and I have already had to organize packages in 2 trucks at the same time 🤣 I been at Amazon driving off and on 2017 I really need a change
@@YOUNGNICLLC I'm goad you're getting overtime. Hopefully the choice you made is the best choice for you right now. Everyone's experience at ups is different. That's great that you're making it known that you'd like to be a driver. Talk to hr and let them know your intentions. They should be able to direct you in the path to becoming a driver. Would you want to be a package car driver or a feeder driver? Hope the best for you? Your experience driving for amazon should help.
@ what’s the difference in drivers? Most likely feeder. I think that’s the box truck? Tbh I will take either! I just would like the opportunity to stay. The rare chance I don’t stay. Do I just apply again as a part time position that’s not seasonal? My goal is to prove myself so they can keep me. I feel like each day people are quitting. Due to logistics and it seeming “disorganized” but I’m ready for everything.
@YOUNGNICLLC the difference is in package car you deliver to businesses as well as residential customers . In feeder you drive the semi truck to rail yards, other ups locations and other customer pick up accounts . I don't know the process when it comes to someone applying again after they've already worked at ups before. I hope the best for you.
@YOUNGNICLLC also, package car hours typically start at around 9am and can be 10 to 12 hour workdays. You can speak with a union stewards about how many guaranteed hours you get. In feeder the start times are around the clock. If you go feeder you'll more than likely be on overnights. Hope this info is helpful.
Question are they flexible with the hours or are there set times that you have to work? I currently have another job and I’m basically just trying to work at ups as well.

I actually like being at UPS. I work at small sort, but I feel like I am not making enough. When does peak season come in? I got hire at Amazon but regret it because I've gotten used to being at UPS.
It's very demanding...I unfortunately quit after a month...I injured my arm and messed up on the call in procedure to get help. Management grilled me on it, I decided to resign. I did enjoy the job seasonally I hope one day i can return
@@chelslansky there's no cap on ot for part timers. The nice thing about getting ot as a part timer is that overtime rate kicks in after 5 hours of work in your workday. So say u work 7 hours in one day. You'll be paid 5 hours at your regular wage and 2 hours at pay and a half. Most opportunities for overtime as a part timer come during the Christmas season.
Im starting tomorrow part time air hub😅 first time ever working there., what do u recommend. Do we have any linch breaks,, do we get a locker to put stuff in, like food or clothes? Thanks
@@luimobilefixes5279 Congrats to you 👏 the number one thing I recommend to people is that you come into ups with some type of goal in mind. Your goal may be to become a driver, supervisor, manager , ect...or to use the u.p.s. earn and learn program to help pay for your college courses. Ups is a physical, and fast paced job, so having a goal/aspiration in mind helps to approach each day at the job. As a part timer, break time is 10 minutes long. Hopefully more break time is given in the future. Maybe the hub youre working at will give you a locker right away. If you don't recieve a locker it will be somewhere for you to place your belongings while you work. Hope this info helps.
Hi, I have a question As I told you, I applied for a package handler job. After 2 weeks, I received the email for an interview. After completing the interview, they said I am going through a background check. Are they they serious about hiring me?
@@Salehakapadia-p3n I can't speak for them at all. All I can do is hope that they decide to hire you. This video as well as any other ups videos are my opinion and my experience.
