If the Canon M100 doesn’t meet your needs, here is a recent video on the Canon M50. This camera has a lot of the things missing on the M100: th-cam.com/video/8eycUpA_ra4/w-d-xo.html
you probably dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new series on Instaflixxer. I've been watching with my brother for the last days xD
Thinking about getting the current Canon EOS M200. I'm not a beginner, I'm intermediate. I'd use it as a backup. However, If I couple it with the 22mm f2 lens, it could fit in my pocket. I used to have the one inch sensor compacts, but this is an ASPC which gathers light better. The only disadvantage to no viewfinder is when you're outdoors in bright sun.
Great video, i picked this camera up a month ago as lightweight, casual camera for exploring video so I'm not putting unnecessary wear and tear on my DSLRs. While it is geared towards beginners, a few tweaks in the menu and you wouldn't know. The beginner's fluff is easy to hide or ignore and makes for a great all around camera. I picked up a third party EF lens adapter by Fotodiox for $40 and it works with all my lenses. Yongnuo, Samyang, Sigma, Canon, and Tokina lenses work as they should with no issues, whatsoever. I've learned a lot about video creation and about the video options on my bigger cameras. Ive shot stills for 20 years so getting into video felt very foreign. This camera has made that jump so much more comfortable and nearly perfect. I still have a lot to learn but Im no longer timid about flipping my 5DmIV and 6D over to video mode with the right settings. The M100 deserves far more attention that it has gotten. Your video I'm sure will sell a few units.
Thank you! I'm glad that you're feeling more comfortable using video mode. The M100 is a great camera and definitely gets overlooked. I often find myself using this more than my big DSLRs.
Great review. I have the 77d (same sensor) and the eos R. I bought this new for $269, body only. I like to use 2 cameras so I dont have to change lenses. Felt the 2 cams i already have were too large to do a double sling. This little guy fits the bill perfectly as a "second lens"
I recently picked up this camera to upgrade my Instagram content, I mainly film in a well lit commercial gym. I’m struggling to get the video looking as crisp and clear as my iPhone 13 - is this normal? Or do I maybe not have some settings or focus set up correctly? I’m a complete novice when it comes to cameras and photography so maybe I’m a bit naive? Thanks in advance if you reply!
Are you shooting in 1080P on the camera? The iPhone 13 has the ability to shoot in 4K. I no longer have this camera but I think it only shoots in 1080P. This may be part of the reason for the difference you are seeing.
@@Tfrank22 yes I was 1080p50fps, the iPhone camera does shoot in 4K yes, I read somewhere though that this is simply to amount of pixels rather than the image quality/resolution?

Hello T. After a lot of research and your informative insight, we eventually decided to buy the Canon Eos M100, we got it a bargain price of £249/318 Dollars 318 in a 'Black Friday Deal' This was bought as a travel camera mainly, the quality of images and ease of use is wonderful, it can be used as a point and shoot as well as a higher end camera if I feel adventurous. The only down side for me is that a Canon Wireless Remote can not be connected, also the free download software from Canon will not able me to use the camera from my iMac. Thanks for your valuable advice and TH-cam video.

I really want the T6i but it’s always sold out in my area so this is my second choice since I’m still a beginner
Yep, you can do it in manual or when shooting in aperature priority mode. This is a great camera, but since you're doing YT videos, I'd get the Canon SL2 or the M50 since they have a mic jack. Also, both have dual pixel auto focus so you can use face tracking to keep you in focus; the M100 has it too but the t6i doesn't have it. Hi, T thanks for your comment, I live in Sri Lanka, a small country in Asia, - the Indian Ocean - When it comes to electronics, in this country we don't have ethical business practices such as good-customer care services, law, etc. Initially, I thought about M200, but it is twice as expensive as M100 (M100 is about $410 - 1$ = Sri Lankan Rupees 195) I couldn't afford it, perhaps, I think, this issue may be there on M200 or M50 as well when it comes to countries like ours. Hey. Thanks for the review i have a choice between SL2 and EOS M100. Both amazing cameras, almost same price same specs with small differences, can you recommend me which one to buy. Also is it possible for you to do a comparison video of those two?"
It depends on what you will be using your camera for and your budget. If you have more room in your budget, go with the SL2. It has a mic input, more lens options, and better ergonomics- just to name a few of the differences. I plan on doing more videos on both cameras.
There is a newer version out but I think this is still a good camera. Video is acceptable if you use a tripod or you could put it on a small gimbal. What will you be using it for?

hey , great review. i have an option to choose between the eos m100 and the Nikon coolpix b700. I will be using the camera to shoot my makeup tutorials , which one should I get. they seem to be the same price at the moment.
Thank you! Not familiar with Nikon Coolpix b700. I'd recommend the M100 because you can change lenses, and it has Dual Pixel Auto Focus. I think it will be helpful for your makeup tutorials. Just keep in mind that there is no mic jack. You can record the audio separately and sync it or you can make sure you are close to the camera when you are talking. If that is a deal breaker, look at the Canon SL2. Here is a video that I did on the SL2: th-cam.com/video/ISq7vQgSpNg/w-d-xo.html

Tara Buso pick up what you can afford now and upgrade at a later time. Not sure if you are doing mainly photo or video, but I’ve seen some pretty good photography with this camera and I’ve have used it for videos as well. Recently there has been some changes on TH-cam, but you can become a TH-cam partner and monetize your videos once you have 1000 subs and 240,000 watch time hours. There are videos that can give you more info on how to get paid on TH-cam just search for Roberto Blake's Channel. My advice is if you are truly interested in creating, do it because you have a passion for it and the opportunities will come later.

@@NessieJudge Are there other differences between the two? i'm debating between them as well. the canon is also a good 200$ ish cheaper
help I bought a nifty fifty and an adaptor for my Eos m 100 but for some reason I can't control my aperture at all and it is super blurry. I already changed the settings so it says to shutter without lens but I'm still having the aperture and focusing issues
Make sure you have autofocus on. I believe there is a switch on the lens that says AF/MF.
What size memory card is allowing you 306.56 minutes of footage?!
Very good video i have to say, awesome production quality. I am considering this as a backup for my two other cameras also and whether it will do more than my P30 Pro smartphone. Cheers
Thank you! Appreciate you watching. What other two cameras do you use?
@@Tfrank22 I use a Pentax K20D as my main camera, a Sony HX400V as a zoom camera and of course my phone. This type of camera would be the one I have on hand everywhere for those moments that need me to get a RAW image. :)
Nice, hope you enjoy it!
How does it perform in night or low light?
It’s not the best for low light, especially if you are using just the kit lens.
@@Tfrank22 so if I've to purchase other lens for low light shoot, can you guide me for this camera, if any lens available for this?
Research the EF-M 22mm.
hi! is this a good camera for youtube?
Yes it is but I’d recommend the M50 if it’s within your budget.
T. Frank Oh okay! Between the m50 and g7x which one would you recommend more??
M50
Is there no microphone jack in the camera?
No there isn’t.
Thank you for your honest review! 🤗
You're welcome. Thanks for watching! 😊
Which one should I buy Canon m 100 or CanonG7x mark ii ??
M100
Thankyou 😊
You’re welcome.
Excellent review.
Thank you 🙂
Hello, is it still good in 2020? Are the videos acceptable even if ... there’s no OIS
There is a newer version out but I think this is still a good camera. Video is acceptable if you use a tripod or you could put it on a small gimbal. What will you be using it for?
T. Frank For everything as I am a beginner...
I think it’s a good beginner camera. I would also look at the M50.
Heya. What lens do you recommend for letting in more light (aperture) and also wide angle. I vlog and also make budgeting videos. Picked up the m100 on saturday at Costco for a steal. Looking forward to your response. Love from the UK.🤗💛
Appreciate the love ❤️. For more light, the ef-m 22mm lens and for vlogging the ef-m 11-22mm lens. Do you have the adapter for EF & EF-S lenses?
@@Tfrank22 💛💛 thank you. I haven't picked up the adapter so I'll be sure to do that once I've saved up enough. Those two lens would I be able to use them on the M50 and also the adapter or would I need a totally different adapter and lens for the M50?
OurSimpleLyfe
Yes, the M100 and the M50 have the same mount. You’ll be able to use the same lenses and adapter.
hey , great review. i have an option to choose between the eos m100 and the Nikon coolpix b700.
Hi T Frank! Does it have a skin smoothing feature on video?
Hi! I no longer have the camera. I don’t believe it does.
@@Tfrank22 thank you so much! Would you say it’s a good buy even till this day?
You’re welcome. Just answered this question for you on another video 🙂
Thx for the honest review
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching 😀
thanks for sharing new friend here..got my new canon eos m100 last week here in Dubai for only 272 US dollars with 8 freebies.
You’re welcome. Enjoy your new camera.
Wow 272 dollars is a steal!
Hi ! thank you for the video . Could you tell me if it's possible to take astrophotography with this camera ?
Thank's !
You’re welcome. I no longer have the camera but you should be able to do astrophotography with it.
@@Tfrank22 Thank you very much :)
You’re welcome 🙂
Does anyone know how far can the 15-45mm lens on the eosm100 zoom? thanks in advance
There is a 1.6 crop so the 15-45mm is really a 24-72mm equivalent.
@@Tfrank22 thanks
Mr WoolB you’re welcome.
Great video..to the point.. I have a question..can I charge and use it at the same time? Say for recording a presentation .?
Or does the battery have to be removed to charge it?
Thanks! The battery has to be removed and placed in a charging cradle that plugs into the wall.
The biggest disadvantage is lack of View finder and flipscrren which can’t be articulated
The M50 would probably be a better choice.
I already have this camera... loved it... new friend here🤗🤗🙏🙏🙏
Canon eos m100 or canon g7x mark II? I really can't decide😓
It will be my first camera and I want for make-up photos&videos
I would go with the M100 because of the interchangeable lenses.
@@Tfrank22 thank you😍
You’re welcome.
is it good for an Instagram shots ?
Yes it is.
Hey does it have builtin Mic input?
No it doesn’t.
How is the built-in mic quality? Will the sound be good for blogging?
It’s decent but I would recommend paying a little more (if you can)for the M50, which has the mic input.
I want to buy a camera for me and my family not for vlogging is this camera good?
Yes it’s a great little camera.
T. Frank Thank you 💕
Hello there! According to your opinion, can this be bought still in 2019?
Hi! Depends on what you need. You should be able to get an even better deal on it now.
@@Tfrank22 I am looking for an entry level mirrorless camera, but I fear the m100 is a bit old model and I was trying to look for newer ones. I checked the fuji x-a5, the xt100 and the canon m50, but latter two are maybe too expensive for my wallet
Tara Buso pick up what you can afford now and upgrade at a later time. Not sure if you are doing mainly photo or video, but I’ve seen some pretty good photography with this camera and I’ve have used it for videos as well. Pair it with some nice lenses and I think it’s still a good entry level camera. I’d still recommend it or tell you to try to find a used M50 in your price range.
@@Tfrank22 Thank you for the precious advices you gave me! A new subscription is coming!
Tara Buso you’re welcome! Appreciate you subbing:)
hi , any overheating issues so far?
No I haven’t.
Does the auto focus works with the adaptor ?
Yes it does.
Is it possible to shoot RAW with Canon M100?
Yes, you can shoot in Raw.
Can you fit any Canon lens on this camera ??
EF-M Lenses & EF&EF-S Lenses with an adapter.
T. Frank thanks 👍😊

How’s the vlog life on TH-cam and How do you get paid by TH-cam? I’m trying to figure that out because I have been thinking about doing some vlog‘ s just to see.
+Cali4nia Angel Haven't Vlogged on TH-cam just yet. Being a creator is fun, but can be challenging at times.
Sounds good. I will take a look into it, and I have heard about the changes on TH-cam, thanks for the helpful advice!
+Cali4nia Angel You're welcome.
Can I shoot my sit down videos with this camera? I’m a start up youtuber 😩
Molise.m yes
Yes, just record your audio separately since there is no mic jack.
This included everything
Thank you for your comment and feedback.
Awesome video!!! Great points.. I love my Canon camera... I seen a colts shirt?? You a fan?? Might be getting Josh McDaniel as head coach so might turn the team around
+Tech Time Thank you! Glad you are enjoying your camera. Yep! The Colts is my husband's team...gotta support his team.
Can u put mic on this m100?
No it doesn’t have a mic jack.
T. Frank aww how can u improve the audio? Can u use adopter for mic or something?
John Lloyd Flores I would recommend looking into the Canon M50 since it has a mic jack and you can get it used for a good price. If you are set on getting the M100, record your audio separately and sync it in post.
It’s a nice camera and good for blogging..
Agreed!
Nice job
Thank you 🙂
You are welcome I also would like to invite you on my chennel
Hey great video very informative question looking to kick start my TH-cam channel an was wondering does this camera have a Microphone port?
Which camera would you recommend that does as audio is important x
Thanks! It does not have a mic jack but the Canon M50 does. Check out this video:

T. Frank how about Image stabillizer canon SL2?
+Pro Cozmic Doesn't have image stabilization.

Could you do a vid about Nikon cameras
They use them in space you know
And my dad works there
I don’t own any Nikon cameras.
