Daughter & hubby and two boys are in Enoch. Left Hawaii and built a new home there 2 yrs ago. They love it there. Wife and will join them soon. I’m confined to a wheelchair but will make the most of Utah 😊

We are selling our home in California this year and relocating to Cedar City to be close to our Duck Creek property. Love your videos Jennie, they’re invaluable for us as we make our transition. Most excited for the FOUR SEASONS!!!

Thank you! Thinking of retiring to Cedar City. Unfortunately, I can’t right now.

Great video.... Ok. Love the area but is there something more in between There and St George temp wise? St George just a lil too hot 🔥 for my taste. But hate scooping snow.... Looking to retire soon and am looking. Needs a noisey workshop, and room to breathe.... thanks so much.

Hi Steve - Cedar City is at about 5600', and St. George is closer to 2000'. That's what makes the difference in climate and snow. The change happens when you head south from Cedar City and go down what we call the 'Black Ridge.' There's a significant elevation drop. There aren't really communities along the way that have a happy medium. I might suggest Leeds or Silver Reef, although is does get warm there. Toquerville and La Verkin are not as crowded as St. George, but do still get warm. Kanarraville and New Harmony are just this side of the Black Ridge, so although they are smaller than Cedar still do get snow. Let me know what other info would be helpful!

We are looking to relocate this summer. We own a business and have done a lot of research. Granted I'm a bit biased having lived in Utah as a kid, but my husband is even more excited to leave our brutal (regularly neg -20 temps) Wisconsin winters behind. We're not afraid of snow..just want sunnier days!

I have a house in Layton. The weather in Cedar City sounds very similar but with less snow. Is that a fair comparison?

Hi Dan- you are correct! Similar weather, without the lake-effect snow.

Jennie, my husband and I are working with the team at Shurtz Canyon and have been to one of the sample homes for a tour and also out to the site. It’s very much what we’re looking for, but your videos are showing us there is an awful lot more in Cedar City than we realized. I wonder if the next time we’re in town (mid August) you could recommend some other sites that have homes for sale.

I’m not sure where exactly you live, but I would say you are a bit bias. Much of the weather you describe happens maybe every 5 years or so, if that. You forgot to mention the extreme cold wind in the winter and the hot dry wind in the summer. No mention of the late storms that often come in and kill most of your garden plants and most of the fruit on your trees in the spring. There is a very big difference between living in town and living in the valley as well.
