      With my setup, I bought the TP-Link Archer T9E and downloaded the drivers through my laptop. I put those drivers on a USB drive and then transferred them to the new PC so that I could install them.
      If you wanted to do it with something cheaper, there are good quality Wi-Fi adapters for $30.00 or less. The process would be about the same, you would need an external computer to get the drivers from.

    Also I highly recommend Ninite, allows you to install many apps at once.

    Ok so bottom line folks. It looks like a proper build guide that is targeted towards the first time / novice builder is about 90 minutes long. If you look at other tech tubers within Paul's network, Jayz2Cents, Linus, BitWit, it would seem that that is the case as well. For those folks, imho, it's about the same just that you have to poke around to find the other videos as well. Honestly I think that a shorter video, or series of videos, just won't be as thorough. Great work Paul. So much more to learn. Lots of details.

    One thing that I have recently become very appreciative of, is a physical dual BOIS switch.
    Last year I built my nephew a PC using the Gigabyte AX370-Gaming 5 mobo, and just like many people have found, one day, it just started power cycling. The BIOS had bricked itself. I flicked the switch to position two, got a POST into the BIOS, flicked the switch back and overwrote the BIOS with a fresh copy. If it had not got the switch this would have been so much harder and maybe even prohibitively expensive.
    A useful feature to consider on future mobo selection.

    • @Serkong
      @Serkong 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      how did you fix the original bios?

    • @smada36
      @smada36 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Serkong I moved the switch to the second position and got into the BIOS as that was factory original and unaffected. I then went to the flash BIOS option in the menu. I then moved the BIOS selection switch back to position one. Using a thumb drive with the latest BIOS version I flashed the BIOS. The board now boots just fine in position one.
      If you get no joy from position two, remove the CMOS battery and keep hitting the End key whilst it power cycles. You should be able to force it into the Q-Flash facility.

    Hey Paul, just wanted to THANK YOU SO MUCH for this series! I was a contest winner of an ASUS GeForce GTX 1660Ti graphics card, and my existing system (7 yrs old) was totally incompatible with it. I am retired from a 30-yr career in larger systems IT with some PC programming experience (VB and scripting), and had never done a computer build. Your videos in this series got me confident enough to give it a go. Got my parts to support the 1660Ti, based largely on your suggestions from the second video here - Ryzen 5 2600, MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard, Cooler Master air-pipe cooler, Corsair SPEC06 ATX case, Corsair CX550 non-component power supply, a 480GB SSD, a 4TB HDD, some fans + splitters where needed to try to equalize incoming and outgoing airspeed and volume (thank God for the CPU fan controls!). To be fair, PC Part Picker was also a godsend in helping me find compatible and right-priced components, some with rebates that lowered my overall costs about $60. Finished the build in 4 hrs yesterday after the motherboard and processor arrived - case was here and had some fans added beforehand. Fired it up the first time and IT LIVES! Loaded Win10 and LoL, fired up a game and my usual 30fps framerate jumped 6-8X! Ping rate was about half what it was before in terms of milleseconds. Color this gamer deliriously happy!
    And it is 100% due to the excellent instructions in your videos. This former hardware N00b (I was a master coder before retirement) feels like he could take on the world and build whatever he chooses. Watch out, man, you have created a monster!
    THANKS AGAIN!!

    after purchasing a so called mid range gaming PC for my daughter, then upon closer inspection other than the graphics card all other items were just the lowest spec that would make do.
    After finding your tutorials I decided to build a PC for the living room. researched a lot and purchased what I would deem mid range components and I now have a decent/not over priced pc which would not have been possible without your build tutorials as I would have worried about messing it up.

We've gone through everything, hdmi from monitor to GPU, and then from monitor to motherboard, nothing. We tried the monitor with his nintendo switch and verified it works and that the issue is most likely that the motherboard needs the updated BIOS version, which would be just fine except I don't have access to a 2nd gen CPU to get the system to boot up and on to update the drivers. I don't know if this is making any sense. I just want to know if you got your issue resolved and if so, what was the fix? Thanks in advance!
