  • Indian army chiefs have consistently emphasised the sensitivity of the India-China situation for the past four years. What is the current ground situation, and why is it unfavorable for India with the looming Chinese threat?
Host Dev Goswami and defence expert Shiv Aroor delve into these questions in this episode.
Numerous reports have been of Chinese "spy ships" in the Indian Ocean region. What defines these "spy ships," and why isn't India's response widely discussed in the media, considering other countries also deploy research vessels for strategic purposes? And why is there concern without specific laws prohibiting Chinese "research vessels" from conducting surveillance activities?
Are there noticeable changes happening at the tactical level?
One significant advantage India holds over China is its extensive knowledge of the Indian Ocean's geography, including depths, water intensity, and temperature, crucial for submarine warfare. But, China excels in submarine capabilities, posing a challenge for India.
The duo also discusses reasons for the Indian establishment's shift from focusing on Pakistan to now China over the past decade or so. What does this denote, and how did India reach this point?

It's a delight to watch Shiv's in depth analysis and plethora of information put on the table by him. In one of the last podcasts both you mentioned about a separate episode on the night of Galwan and what exactly happened that night. I hope this will be covered in the upcoming episodes. The inside information Shiv has through his contacts in the armed forces and establishment makes the podcast even more interesting and knowledgeable

why does it not concern US when they have their own base is in Chagos Islands - Deigo garcia in the Indian Ocean region? USA must have surveyed IOR before China considering that they have been there for quite a while? Why is India not able to send survey vessels in the Pacific Ocean near Phillipines-Taiwan area or South of Japan ( far away from EEZ ), or even as far as Angola in Atlantic Ocean?

USA desires an alliance with India, however. India will demand these issues be worked out as the alliance strengthens.

I hope all Indians realize that China, not Pakistan, is India's primary geopolitical rival, and as a democracy, India must stand up to the dictatorship.

    Hi
    Good morning!
Gentle Men, why do we have to discuss it in depth with so many technical points, our enemy may not have as much knowledge as you have, please avoid it. If they are wrong they might listen to it and position their submarines, correctly.. You might laugh at me but I'm more concerned about our assets.

It is funny to hear Indians keep saying they gave China 'a bloody nose' in Galwan. Is that the same type of narratives as when Modi said 'not an inch' of perceived Indian territory was taken?
