Retaking Pakistan-occupied Kashmir A Pipe Dream Or Very Much A Possibility?| In Our Defence,S02,Ep24

  • The election season in India is heating up, and the rhetoric around Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) is becoming increasingly prominent among politicians. No surprises there! Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently addressed opposition allegations of constitutional changes by emphasising the government's focus on integrating PoK into India. Echoing this sentiment, Union Home Minister Amit Shah affirmed that PoK is "part of India", highlighting that people across the border in PoK are calling for freedom.
Since May 10, PoK has been experiencing significant unrest, with traders protesting against high electricity and food prices. Similar protests occurred in August 2023 over high electricity bills. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar commented on the ongoing unrest, contrasting the situation in PoK with the relative stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
In this episode, host Dev Goswami and defence expert Shiv Aroor delve into Pok's history and politics. They discuss whether the topic of Pakistan still resonates with Indian voters and examine the feasibility of politicians' claims about reclaiming PoK. Are these assertions even possible? The duo explores the practicality of India potentially reclaiming PoK and managing the aftermath. How realistic is it?
What hypothetical actions or operations might India undertake, and what strategic or other purposes would these serve?

Amazing episode once again. To the point, informative, no masala. This series is my best source of information these days It's surprising that you don't have more views and likes. Keep grinding....
One request, can you add snippets of maps when you are explaining geography. This will help viewers understand the situation better.
Best of luck for future episodes. I am sure you will have millions of likes very soon

@SonaalShandilya It's highly strategic. If you see the map of India It's basically landlocked with no good land routes to the vast Eurasian landmass, particularly Central Asia, Russia, etc. It has to rely on maritime routes to trade. For land trade with Russia, it depends on the Chabahar port in Iran. Current issue of the rest of Europe with Russia notwithstanding, it would have given India a continuous land route to Europe, which India needs. We have a small strip of Wakhan corridor with Afghanistan in between; beyond that lies Tajikistan and the vast landmass of Eurasia. The potential is huge.

A detailed episode on PM Modi's spontaneous visit to Pakistan.
    *The rationale behind the visit
    *Security challenges
*Havings balls to land in Pakistan😅
*Assuming it was Pm`s firat term , was it naive of him to do something like this
    * The action plan if anything went wrong
And any other pointers you can think of.
Not much in extreme detail is supposedly available on the internet about this .

Actually, we can get Tesla to set up an EV factory there and since Article 370 B part which permits business in J & K and we can involve the whole of POK and the rest to be employed. Give a 59 year or more lease or something for setting up a sprawling manufacturing company. Before the Pak military even dream of attacking, Pak's people, those with relatives this side can also be employed. So, it will minimise any ill intentions. After all their economy is down and out. So, with the new rules of citizenship in place, we can screen the people who come in. So, as you said, we can have the whole world coming together to solve the problem. I know it's a dream, but just thinking aloud.

Well, I just checked the maps, and I can clearly see GB bordering with Afghanistan along the Wakhan national Park region in AF..I don't know what map you are looking at..I am looking at Google maps. To be sure, I checked using VPN from different countries, since that border is disputed, but every version shows GB to have a common border with Afghanistan. Malakand is further south to this border.

Remember one fact...that Kashmir's accessions to India were signed by Mount Betton, Nehru and the King of United Kashmir.. including Gilgit Baltistan! British army personnel took up the weapons and took the possession of Gilgit Baltistan and gave it to Pakistan (for administration)! During all these episodes Indian and the Pakistanies were prohibited to have & use weapons! So it was the British betrayal that caused this situation! Remember that Pakistanies also used an excuse of 'Kabilies' invasion to Kashmir ( of course Pakistanies army personnel in the plain clothed)...that led to this current LOC! Possibly It was the British who led Nehru to bring this dispute to the UN! It's well-known that the British would betray India any and all Day...Now all that needs to unwind... before the UN has any moral authority over India and the global south!
The UN is the failed institution any way... either they reform (& recognize Indian veto power in the Security Council)or face the Universal exedus of the Nations from the UN!!!

Hi, many retired civil servants often say that India and Pakistan were very close to reaching a permanent solution for the Jammu and Kashmir issue during the Manmohan Singh govt. And it was similar to accepting the current LoC as the permanent border. My question is why can't India be at peace with the fact that the state has been trifurcated between India, Pak and China? And are we ignoring the fact that in Pak, PoK is the only factor on which their political spectrum comes onboard and they will not hesitate to launch a suicide mission with nukes if India attempts to take back PoK?
Secondly, why only the Uri surgical strikes and Balakot? The Hindu reported about Operation Ginger which was carried out by the Army during the UPA govt. The tactical operations had been conducted earlier as well, why do we not quote them as often as we quote Uri and Balakot?

    • @rehanarya3854
      @rehanarya3854 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

Pakistan is not in position to use nukes and their nuke program is exaggerated. We have all tech to stop incoming missiles and we are further developing. PoK and gilgit baltistan or north laddakh is not just our part but also a layer of extra protection against Chinese aggression, Pakistan is nothing without one of the fathers.

Uri and balakot because they were large scale operations after much anticipations and expectations. And as a result you see Pakistan well understood not to do nonsense on Indian soil anymore. It happened early too on small scale but it didn’t had that impact
