  • How to Make Diorama Water, how to add ripples waves, and currents. This tutorial is the 2nd part in a series. In the first video I show you how to make the waterfall you see in this diorama. In this tutorial I cover the following:
    -What materials you use
    -Painting the bottom of the water blues and greens
    making realistic waves
    -Making Ripples
    -Making realistic running water like a river
    Lots more diorama stuff on my website:

    @GreenAiden555 Tape around sides is enough to seal it. The mountain is made of foam thatt doesn't leak. The realistic water just seals it up and stays nicely.

    @dmikrut I have tried the fan idea and it works but.. I didn't keep at it. You have to put the fan on it at the right time so the water hardens in the ripple shape.

    How did you go about sealing this off? Like, did you just tape pieces of cardboard to the sides with nothing else, or something else with it?
    Also, what did you use on top of the mountain?

    Okay, I'm using realistic water for the project I'm working on now, and I'm making a small portion of the Pacific Ocean for my next one, so I'm going to try and seal it off the way you did for this diorama. Just normal scotch tape would be fine?

    @epicfantasy Thank you! Ive been wanting to make a train that goes around scenery like this and your videos really help! Keep up the good work!

    @LuigiLuigi64 Yes, it would work, I think it would look good. In my wall diorama I put sunken treasure chests. People really like it.

    @Ninjafreakz11 The mountain in this diorama is made out of foam. It is a pink foam called foamular. Can buy it at home depot.

    @redzebraz Good question but I don't think hot glue would dry clear. It probably wouldn't look right.

  • @epicfantasy

    @demonmeth70 This is a good idea and I think it would work very well. You put the easy cast in first to fill up a lot of it. Then cast the realistic water in a thin layer over it. Good idea. Probaby pretty easy to do. This way you don't have to cast multiple layers of realistic water.

    Ive seen so many of your diorama videos its making my head spin :P, but they're all amazing quality and I really love them. :). Anyway; I'm thinking for making a river(not one that's as tall as that) I'm going to use just standard foam board, so if I use it to play wargames, the miniatures can go on the river seamlessly and without much hassle. For something like that, do you think just the Liquid water Resin would work? Or should I use the other one that is more glass-like? Thanks :)

    @cpdp999 This is a great idea. On my project list is to make a 12 foot model of a medieval city complete with castle.

    @epicfantasy When ethier water brand you use is dry do you have to keep the walls around the water to keep on, or can you take them off? I'm guessing you can take it off, am I right?

  • @cpdp999

    Could you make a giant small scale city, i worked at a artitect firm in London for 2 weeks and they had models of the whole of London! Every single building and road complete with small cars and people, they also had models of buildings and 3d printers which made the coolest things.

    could you build up the gel to make a small fire and paint over it or would you have to add a dye to the gel and mix it up for a different color?

  • @epicfantasy
    @epicfantasy  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @MrCrazySnail Yes, once the water has hardened you can take the walls off.

  • @epicfantasy
    @epicfantasy  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @dmikrut yes, you can.

  • @epicfantasy

    @GreenAiden555 I am not sure, THe scotch tape might curl. You probably should do a small test. If I were to guess I say it will work fine.

    would the same effect happen if you were to use the Easy cast and then put Ballestic water on it or would it mess it up?

    When pouring the water effects to form the pond and the river, do you have to worry about trapped air bubbles?

    Well I wont use it. I don't want to risk my fish. It's really cool having a mini Japanese style garden diorama with a Betta fish. Really neat. I'll probably use blue sand instead.
