    Gerber quality is so so from all the knives I have. Some has been good, some not so good, but I absolutely love their designs more than any other company by far. They just make cool looking knives. Just bought the air ranger g-10. I love it!

    Thank you for the informative objective review of the Sharkbelly... I just bought one and I'm glad to see that it will loosen up with use...

    I bought one in December, and I love it. Mine is the partially serrated version, and I personally think this knife is better with the serrations.

    I love the sharkbelly. I bought one at a pawnshop for $3 and I lost it in my house somewhere, I hope I didn't throw it away, it drives me crazy that I can't find it, I'll have to buy another one

    I just bought the last one in stock at DLT Trading for under $30. I must say that I actually like it and will be carrying it.

    I was just at Walmart and asked to see it since I knew it was a new model. And wow, it feels cool, so light and clean looking. It was the plain edge, but Gerber makes good serrations so the other would be nice too.

    I just bought one yesterday. I decided not to wait any longer. I like it, but it's hard to open. Maybe it's just stiff because it is brand new. I use two fingers to pinch the blade's spine and pull it out part way. I might add a bolster. It's still a nice knife (Walmart only has the serrated edge right now) and I want to carry it. I love it's light weight and design. I tend to wear nylon cargo pants, so a heavier folder clipped to the pocket will hang down and looks messy. I was able to shave hair off my arm, so a touch up or a good stropping and it'll be perfectly sharp.

    They actually named it the shark belly because of the handle texture.......rub it one way and its smooth, the other way rougher to give you a better grip on it

      With the blade closed, it does look like the belly of a great white too though.

    Tim, definitely a budget-minded folder. I like the overall shape. You mentioned nylon handle I take that's not like glass-filled nylon or G-10?

    • @EverydayTacticalVids
      @EverydayTacticalVids  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ron Hicks definitely not like G10 - not at heavy or rugged

      Its a glass filled nylon handle so says Gerbers website.

    Very interesting knife very cool unlike most of gerber knives in my opinion to bad it’s 420 steel guess that’s how they keep the price down ☹️

    They should have made an aluminum-scaled 440hc model and a s30v titanium frame lock model... dear god these knife companies need to hire me 🤔 😂

    Mine came very very dull. I also thing the heat treatment on mine might be bad, tryed it on a Ferro rod and got not sparks. And it dinged the spine when using the rode.

    Found the serrated version at local Walmart in August of 2018 for thirteen dollars. For that price a good knife but for close to thirty? Get a Rat 1 or 2 for under twenty five.

    Its an interesting knife design and I like it. Unfortunately, I only do tip up carry.. so it's not for me.

    good design but for GFN and 420hc I think it is little bit expensive. we have Ka-bar dozier: Zytel and Aus8 in 20$. sooooo.... gerber must be think about this. people will not pay only for design.

    What could you, realistically, do with 1/3 of that blade being serated? Anything too special?

    Good review. They said it was named the shark belly for the ridges...smooth one direction but traction the other...does that stand out? Does it seem like it has better grip than a textured G10 or something similar? I really hope that Gerber is turning things around! I just ordered the Order from BladeHQ, mainly because it’s $15 right now, but hopefully this is a start back into trusting Gerber

      Small.Town.419 yeah this knife seems good for the price but have you seen the kershaw injection 3.0 and 3.5 inch models? They are selling for like 10-14 bucks

    • @EverydayTacticalVids
      @EverydayTacticalVids  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Small.Town.419 the handle gives good grip - it’s not too aggressive for an EDC knife imho

    • @jakefromohiostate
      @jakefromohiostate 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sir Nicholas I’ve kind of fallen away from Kershaw...specifically their lower line. It just seem like the are making the same assisted, stonewash flipper over and over again. Some slight variation and price it around $20. They have lost some appeal to me since Ken Onion doesn’t work with them anymore. Although I would have picked up a Dash from BladeHQ those locked cool.

    Is there a way to remove the pocket clip without breaking the knife?

  • @darthblade2016
    @darthblade2016 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    #EverydayTacticalVids This looks like a very interesting blade. I like the lightness, slim profile, deep-carry clip and the blade shape is cool. I will have to think about it, but I need to be able to easily close an EDC knife with one hand. Not a fan of the tip down carry either....Thanks for the review though!!!
