I feel like they are so salty about serialization that concepts that could be cool are used just for a throwaway gag or a joke, that’s why they killed Tammy like that
Yeah they really hate how much people like and latched onto the small bits of continuity they weave between seasons. But like c'mon those tend to be the best parts, how could you not.
Yeah, once upon a time, serialisation was nowhere to be seen because you would air your shows on TV and if people missed an episode then they would lose interest because they wouldn't know what's going on anymore, and these are the shows that the team grew up on and wanted to recreate. Problem is, by the time they get themselves into gear with R&M, streaming had become viable and with it shows evolved to have actual plotlines that lasted entire seasons or longer because if you missed an episode you could just stream it later. Later on, this would go a step further with a lot of shows only becoming streamable. The simple fact is that the landscape of how TV shows work and how they're made and what's expected of them has changed and the R&M team came up with an amazing show idea but are still trying to run the show as if it were airing in 1998. I feel like this is a part of what's causing the R&M fandom to become more apathetic over time...that and the insanity of a certain person that has a big part in leading the show.
the worst part is it's entirely the writers fault that they've become serialized. like litterally nobody asked you to keep continuity and your actively live in a multiverse.
I honestly really agree with your opinion on Tammy, and honestly you're the first person that actually agrees with me on this topic. When season 4 finale came out, everyone was more then satisfied to see Tammy being killed, everyone saw it as bringing justice to Bird Person, but I was pretty much the only one that hated how they wasted her. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't fond of killing off Bird Person either, but I thought Tammy was a great villain in the making: 1. She was one of the rare villains in the show that wasn't creature from another dimension or alien, but a plain old human which, when considering all that she's able to accomplish within the show, only speaks about how capable and powerful she is. 2. Great origin story potential. How did a human end up as a high ranking officer in Galactic federation, for starters? 3. Potential for rivalry with Summer, which I find neat, considering most villains in the show are either having a beef only with Rick, or Smith family as a whole. 4. Her relationship with Bird Person after "The Wedding Squanchers". Why did she revived him in the first place? Was it just because she was in desperate need of new recruits, given Federation had collapsed, or was there something more? And as you mentioned in this video, What was their dynamic? I'm really down for an entire video dedicated to her! :)))) Just as a side note: Squanchy did showed up later, in the episode "Edge of Tomorty: Rick Die Rickpeat", as one of many visions Rick saw while holding a Death Crystal, crystal that allows you to see many possibilities of how you will die. One of those visions saw Rick being ripped in half by Squanchy in his transformed-superhuman-Hulk form. Fact he was wearing a futuristic collar, led some fans to speculate he might be controlled by Galactic Federation, similar to Bird Person. Also, loved Butch Hartman roasting gag. That is all. Thank you for staying on my ted talk. ;)
I think I just got so mad about bird person I wanted her gone. Like I wouldn’t have cared if they just never brought her up again rather than kill her as long as I never had to see her again.
The future is always in question and every question is answered and then some. Wouldn't it be interesting if Tammy or some part of her is returned to life? The Federation has the technology to do it even with brain damage. All easily fixed.
Fun fact: Space Beth is the clone. In the game "Pocket Mortys", which some may point that it may not be canon, there's a way to change the Rick you control to be other characters, one of those being Space Beth. And, as every character has a name, Space Beth's in the game is "Clone Beth".
Are you sure Space Beth isn't the original? Didn't more recent episodes confirm which was which? That detail could have easily been a red herring since it was just a game.
@@growingoaks Nobody is meant to know who the clone is. The only person who would really know is Rick, but not even he really wanted to know so he pretty much turned around and pulled a ball under the cup trick on himself.
There is a noticeable difference between the two Beth's When in close up, both have distinctly different noses. Space Beth has a nose drawn the way "original" Beth's nose was drawn, & domestic Beth has a slight, but noticeably different nose design. Space Beth seems to be the original
You know a major factor a LOT of people forget about the show is that the creators outright, opely siad once that they did NOT want Rick and Morty to be a show about confirming peoples fan theories about characters. THis is why the show is so inconsistant and will set up something only to drop it, ingore it or make fun of it. If a single fan guesses a story idea or plotline, if they speculate and hteir idea matches the plan, the creaotrs will scrap that plan on the spot and do something else. This appraouch wasn't a problem in season 1 or 2 when the show was basically unknown and nobody was theorizing. But once 3 rolled around with how they played the season 3 opening all night long, it gave htem a massive influx of fans and the cartoon theory community jumped on the show. And thier stupid approch to not allow fan theories to be right caused all of this. I feel this is extmrely important and something alot of people forget. Also before I forget. Season 2's ending was a factor as well. the show first REALLY started getting attention at hte end of seaosn 2 due to how striking it's finale was. And that lead to cartoon theoriests showing up. Just pointing that out.
There are bird people in the art of the past in Peru, Sumeria and dozens of other cultures was the influence for Buck Rogers showing they really existed as a people out there.
We might take solace in the fact Tammy is probably not actually a teenager, since she was a well trained undercover agent in charge of many others the whole time (as were her parents). She's still likely younger than Bird Person, but she was also quite angry she had to go back to high school to befriend Summer. As far as why the Federation officers she references are younger than her, the Gromflomites are fly people and their top brass killed themselves when the Federation collapsed. It's likely that like flies they have shorter lifespans or at least shorter larval stages.
Gotta agree with that spaghetti hot take. IMO the sauce’s ingredients are too simple to shine without fresh ingredients. You can take jarred marinara and beef it up with some fresh garlic and herbs and that makes it decent but not as good as making it yourself. It’s actually not much harder to do then to use the jar. slicing up some aromatics tossing them in some EVOO add tomato paste and canned tomatoes, season, add herbs and letting it simmer for Atleast an hour. Then those simple flavors really have the chance to shine.

I think that Space Beth is the real Beth. Space Beth, being abandoned by Rick, decided to follow in his footsteps and go out and see what was so great that it made him leave his family for. Also, we shouldn't forget that OUR RICK was compassionate until Evil Rick (Cronenburg-universe Rick) created a portal and killed his family, Splitgate style.
Our Rick was more compassionate when he was younger. The Rick we see is from C-137, NOT the Cronenburg universe that Morty is from. It turns out that Evil Rick (the one who killed Rick C-137's family and turned him completely nihilistic) is actually the Cronenburg Rick. He's the BBEG of Season 6 and I hope the story progresses nicely
