The Beatles are one of the reasons I wanted to learn how to play. I am 47 and started to play 8 mos. ago. It's something I always wanted to do and decided last year that it was I was going to cross it off my "bucket list." After spending time taking care of everyone else, it was something I wanted to do just for me and take that time. I can't even tell you how much it has fed my soul. I can't wait to finish up my day and get home so I can practice. Something my younger self would never have comprehended. I love looking up your videos and seeing what new thing I can try and work on or even look up new gear. This year's Christmas list is loaded up with pretty much nothing but guitar stuff! Thank you for all you do and keep bringing it on. You are the best!

I was 13 in 1964 when The Beatles came to the US and played on Ed Sullivan and I have always loved their music. I like the way you break down the song into different parts and explain how to play it. It's well beyond my ability right now, but someday I'll be playing it around a campfire. Thanks Erich for taking the time to make these video's.

I remember picking up my first guitar 3 years ago and not having a clue how to even begin, not being able to take lessons due to my schedule and lack of funds it made it extremely difficult. I went on youtube and searched beginner guitar lessons and your first beginner lesson is what came up which was my first lesson ever. Hey Erich, I have been playing drums in a band for many years. I also have written original songs. I usually compose on the piano but a lot of times I have to wait to get to a keyboard to get started. I'm learning the guitar with your course so I can entertain and compose on the guitar where ever I have it. If your course can get this drummer playing guitar it can get anyone to. I am understanding and playing songs already and I just started. Your method of teaching is very encouraging and entertaining. I know if I stick to your plan and put the time in I will become as good on guitar as I am on drums. So glad I came across you on TH-cam.

My older brother played the guitar and always taught me when he could and he always told me how good I was. I know he loved playing the guitar because I would hear him playing it in his room almost always. He died two years ago and I got to keep his guitar and I started learning more and watching your videos and others. About 4 months ago someone broke into our house and stole it, we found the person who did it but he had already sold it. i was really sad that I lost my brothers guitar and that I couldn't play it anymore and I don't have the money to buy another guitar and it would mean soooo much if I had the chance to play again. It wouldn't be as special as my brothers but to play again would be amazing!

Erich - great lesson, you crushed it here but I have to say my favorite part was the comment "Remember when you couldn't walk and you couldn't talk, and now you do? I know you don't remember, I don't either..." at 4:40, killed me. I enjoy your humor as much as your lessons!
Great lesson, Erich, especially the part about mini barre chords. I suck at barre chords, so the mini will come in handy! My favorite Beatles song is Rocky Raccoon. Can you do a lesson on a fingerstyle version of RR?

One of my favourite Beatles tracks (along with Norwegian Wood) - Great lesson, as always.
Here's a really cheating version of the 'F' chord I like to use and it's basically the open 'D' chord on the fifth fret, but just the top 3 strings. If you include the forth string you have an F6/D and if you do the D min shape of the 4th fret you get the F min or F min 6/D (dependant on if you play the 4th string or not) and it's a lot less of a cramp maker.

Thank you Erich for all that you do. As a left handed person, trying to learn guitar has been a bit of a challenge for me, but watching your videos has definitely helped. I have always loved music, but never played an instrument until my son urged me to try it (he picked it up 4 years ago and is 14 now). Since all of our extra $ goes to his lessons and equipment, I was super stoked to find your 30 free lessons to see if I could get some basics to see if I will be able to do it or not. Currently I am trying to learn on a Squier Strat that I was able to pick up off of Craigslist, but hoping to get an acoustic. I am pretty sure that the giveaway guitar doesn't come in a LH model, but worth a shot putting my entry in for the giveaway. Thanks!

I love that 6th chord.i use it to end a lot of songs instead of the root.either that or a major 7th. Just spices it with that little step down if you know what I mean.

I dont know about positive creative or unique but this is my story:
Im a teenager watching teenager shows where i listen to these shows with amazing soundtracks, i stumble upon a show which i cant even understand but the ending theme song just caught me by surprise, i searched and searched (and boy was it hard because i didnt know where to start with the language) but turns out it was a song called YES -roundabout and it was all i cared about, i borrowed a guitar from a friend for a month and practiced it so many times until i was sure i could play the introduction part satisfactorily.
That moment when i played that part right.. was when i knew i wanted to learn and master the guitar. it was a dream calling me to chase it down.
And so i enrolled in a guitar center with no guitar, they provided it a nice black amazing finish and nice sounding one and now ive been going there (still without a guitar) for over 4 months its been the time of my life 😊❤ though they dont actually teach beyond the basics a free guitar to practice of every weekday just brings a smile to my face. Its what keep the gloomy days full of sunshine and keeps me wanting to aquire more and more knowledge 😊
Coincidently is how i found my way to this channel which provided me with a ton of amazing tips (though i looked towards many many music content creators) and thus here i am. telling my story 😊❤ i hope you see this just to know the story cause i believe everyone who learns the guitar should find a focal point for their passion on the intrument they love ❤
