YourGuitarSage Hey Erich Sir well the tutorial was amazing as always. And I've been loving all your tutorials from the start. I'm learning guitar because the only favorite thing that I like to do is to play the guitar and because of you I'm learning guitar more faster than I thought and by today's hack, rapidly it became more easier to play the guitar and thank you for the lesson and keep doing it because of you I'm learning the guitar. And I think you are the only person I who can teach me how to play a guitar, well the reason is that for me it's pretty hard to play the chords but because of your hacks now I can play the chords more fluently. So thank you Sir for all of your lesson and the tutorial that you are giving everyday and hopefully because of you in future one day I become a musician me a singer like you because you have a beautiful voice sir. Thanks for your efforts sir. Thank You Jay-U

I didn't realise it was so easy to learn the notes on the that board then I guess when you self tech these things you won't know about is there a way to memorize them? Or is there a way to play them all in practices and name them as you move through the threat Board, I need loads of reptiton to remember things

Hello, I stumbled on your channel a couple months ago when I got my first acoustic guitar. I was watching one of your finger picking technique videos and was thinking oh man that looks really hard lol. Two months later and its actually a piece of cake now. At the moment I'm just going through your channel and looking at all your videos to see what I can benefit from and I just want to say to anyone that is just picking up a guitar the most important thing, without a doubt, is to practice practice practice!!! It will be difficult at first but trust me it gets easier. Don't get discouraged if you don't get it right away because that's how it is for everyone. If you put in the time then you will see results and seriously if I can do it then I'm sure anyone else can.

I started playing guitar quite late as compared to most others. I started off at age 13 and had to go to guitar classes to learn. But with all due respect to my teacher, I didnt learn much at all aside from the basic chords and the names of the strings and a couple of scales. So in order to learn to improve what I already knew I had to scavenge the internet for a proper tutor and instructor because I was already onthe track to learning so I couldnt leave it in between or I would regret it. So before stumbling upon your channel i found a couple others which were good and did teach me a couple of extra things. But once I found you, my entire experience changed due to the in depth lessons and actual interest and enthusiasm in teaching. Now I'm 16 and honestly, i never though I'd be where I am without finding this channel. So thanking you is too little a compliment to give but Thank you Erich.

Hope you had a merry Christmas with your family. You deserve it after all you've done for others this year. I started playing around the end of august and now about half a year later I play better than I ever thought I would. Mostly because of you and the other TH-cam guitar teachers like Justin and Andy. I don't really have the money for real lessons but that's not a problem because of all the work you all put in for us.

HEY ERICH !!! This is a true story. Four years ago my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was a really rough time for my family and I. I was in the eighth grade at the time and was struggling with making friends. I was feeling very lonely and my father was recently laid off. My parents being immigrants, did not really understand characteristics of American middle schools. In an effort to boost our spirits, my father saved up some of his lunch money to purchase a used electric drum set so that we could jam.
I had been playing the guitar for a little bit but lost motivation do to poor teachers. In order to learn songs to play with my father, I turned to TH-cam. A lot of the channels were hard to follow until I found Yourguitarsage! You instantly became my one stop for learning songs! My guitar playing career was jump started with my dad and I s' jamming sessions! Erich taught me to play lead guitar and the blues and I instantly fell in love!
Four years later I am playing in a bad and recently played at a music festival! My mother is a breast cancer survivor and my father has a steady job that he enjoys! I have a great group of friends and love to play music! Erich probably doesn't know when he makes videos that he can really help people! He helped me get out of a rough patch in life and I owe a lot to you! Thank you so much man, keep doing what you are doing because you are changing lives!!!

Thanks Erich. You have the best job in the world. You have created a monster with me. I can't stop watching your videos! But, on the plus side, my guitar playing has improved 1000%. You have kept me motivated to be a better player. No one else has ever done that. Thank you! I love playing my guitar and I finally have the confidence to play in front of others, which I have never done before. I will be your student for life. Anyone learning the guitar should be learning from you. If they did, we would have many more great guitarist in this world.

Last week I just found out what my brand archetype was and it said "Sage". I thought to myself: "I've seen that word somewhere before and I realized it was from "@yourguitarsage". Erich Andreas, your truly my guitar sage. With your words of wisdom, encouragement and tremendous knowledge in guitar playing ( and life in general). I'be been watching your videos for 5 years now and they have been so helpful. I took a big step by enrolling for your guitar course on Udemy. Also, I'm grateful that you liked my post on instagram. It's been great having you as my instructor. Keep up the amazing work!!!!

Hi Erich, UK fan here, I have been playing guitar for the last 10 years or so and I am completely self taught, I've never had a single lesson. It's been tough at times and there's been moments where I've felt like giving up on guitar completely because no matter how hard I'd try I just couldn't learn certain things such as chords/chord transitions, strumming techniques etc. but when I found your videos it gave a new lease of life to my guitar playing, you've helped me learn and master techniques and fundamentals that I thought I'd never learn! You seem to have the ability to make things seem so simple and it makes them much easier to learn. I still remember the first video of yours I watched a few years ago and you gave some tips on an easier way to play an F chord which I still use to this day.
It would be amazing to win the giveaway not just for being able to play a new guitar rather than the old, beaten up one I'm currently playing but mainly for the lifetime membership to your Unstoppable Guitar System! This would be incredible for not just my learning but also for me being able to teach my children to play guitar as they grow up as they are both under 10 and they are already expressing a great interest in music and playing guitar. Thank you for the opportunity to win this amazing prize and thank you for the inspiration and commitment in every video you make, keep up the great work! Thanks again, Mike.

Thank you for everything you do for us, and for the opportunity to enter into your giveaway. Your an amazing teacher and I look forward to many more lessons. Much love and respect Sage! As always, you’re the best!

So true, the way to embrace the challenges in guitar and in everything is by remembering that, if we want, they can be the path to our learning and growth! A big challenge for myself has been to actually build up enough strength in my hand to play bar chords and to generally hold the strings down haha! Even bigger of a challenge to let go and really be in the moment, to hold the space, the space beyond my ego....this unfolds more and more over time and its becoming clear to me that if we choose to grow then we will constantly be pushed a little out of the comfort zone...Very glad I've discovered your videos, loving your teaching style and realness, thank you ✌️💗

Erich huge fan!!! I just got back into playing the guitar haven’t played in almost 20 years between college and my first job and the raising my kids. I just haven’t had the free time. So now that I’m about to turn 40 and the kids are full time in school. I thought better late then never! Hopefully with your instruction I can become the guitar player I dreamed about when I started playing at 12. Thanks for in inspiration!

Thanks for breathing new life into learning the fretboard! Every video you post is a gem. When I started following you on TH-cam a couple of months ago I hadn’t played guitar for a long time. But I watched your video on how to learn the fretboard (which has always been a goal but I never committed the time to it) and that video got me back into the groove. I haven’t memorized the entire fretboard yet but I’m getting there and it’s wayyyyy easier because of your video (and now this one too!). My guitar playing has gotten better in general and I’m finally learning the techniques I’ve been after. Thanks for bringing guitar playing and learning back into my life. I can’t thank you enough for the knowledge and positivity you bring to music. Aloha!

Hey Erich! Love your stuff. I have a passion for guitar but it is superseded by being an active, amateur competitive cyclist. December and January are my down times from the bike and I get back to the guitar as a release from the road. I am so appreciative of videos, like these, to get my chops backs. The one great thing is that I have an office guitar and I do find a corner to noodle over lunch when I can. It is a great block of time to work things out and get midday stress relief. Again, thanks for everything you do for the guitar community! Will stay tuned!

Hope you had a TERRIFIC CHRISTMAS. 🎄🎸🎁🎅. Erich I really enjoy these videos because they are broken down into bite size pieces which makes it real easy to understand the importance of the basics so that it makes the learning process easier because you understand the importance behind knowing the basics. I really enjoy watching your videos because in the end once you put all the parts together things make so much sense and it takes the mystery out of the learning process. This is why I continue watching your videos even though I don't own a guitar. Someday maybe I will be able to get a guitar but financially I can't right now. Maybe I will get lucky and win one and that would change my life for the better. The chance to actually be able to learn from your Unstoppable Guitar System would be fantastic. I really do appreciate all the effort that you put into helping others on their journey to learn to play the guitar. I will definitely continue to watch your videos because I love the way you explain what a person needs to know and how they can improve their guitar playing but implementing what you have spent years developing though all the lessons that you have provided to your students. Obviously you have taken a lot of time and effort to make your knowledge available to people like myself who really would love to learn to play the guitar. Please keep doing what you have been doing because it is obviously working. I am very lucky that I somehow found your channel because I have learned so much from you and I know that by continuing to watch I will continue to learn. Thanks for all your efforts to help others on their journey. I would like you thank you for all the time and effort that you put into your videos and your live streams. They are always jam packed with good usable information. Hopefully I will obtain a guitar somehow because the more I watch and the more I learn the more I want to be able to play the guitar. Music is a universal language that can be understood by everyone who listens to it. I also feel that music is very therapeutic and can provide comfort, joy and healing. Thanks again Erich for everything that you do.

I'm still hanging in there to win one of the Epiphone PR-150 Guitars and your Unstoppable Guitar System. It would be a life changer in my life. I really need something good to happen in my life. I lost both my parents not to long ago and prior to that I had an operation and the anesthesiologist made an avoidable mistake that has left my left leg paralyzed. Music has always been my escape and now I just feel lost. I have thought of learn to play the guitar and after I started watching your videos in the hospital I decided that I definitely wanted to learn to play the guitar. You changed my idea into a Dream. Music was always playing in our home on the stereo. I Just Wish that I had one the the Epiphone PR-150 Guitars and your Unstoppable Guitar System so that my Dream could become a Reality. Maybe its because I am prolly older than most and dont retain the information as fast or as well...lol..But I have been going through your rather large collection of video's one or two a night for about the last month "baby steps" and then applying what I learn from the video to practice for at least one hour every night (usually 2) when the wife will let me.PEOPLE LISTEN the time spent practicing after each video (at least for me)has been imperative!make a practice space where you cant be bothered and from the time you enter till the time you leave that space Do NOT put that guitar down! I promise you in a month you will see a vast difference in your playing.Erich thank you for what you do! and for making this grandpa the next Rockstar! :)

Hey Erich, first of, wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year year buddy. Music is Divine and to spread music is equivalent to spreading happiness.Your lessons proved to be a silver lining in my case. It all started for me when i met with an accident two years ago back in 2015 and i was on a bed rest with nothing to do. Having finished my academics, there wasnt much for me to read so i asked my brother if i could borrow his guitar. Well things were terrible in the start because i never knew how hard should i be pressing the string against the fret. Although my brother tried to teach me, i still lacked the proper guidance one requires. I recovered from my injuries and the life was back to normal with that feeling of remorse and emptiness that i couldnt actually figure out how to do away with those beginners mistakes. I used to practice on and off by my own but never felt contented with how i was going about it. Came across your TH-cam channel in 2016 and realized that i have wasted all these years sneaking out time to learn how to play guitar while it was just a matter of few clicks. So not only did your videos help me to do away with those beginners mistakes, but also motivated me to spread the joy of music.
So every weekend i take my pet dog along with me to a park where i just let the guitar chords and music to flow in the air and the children around me rejoice and have fun playing with my pet. It is so much soothing to watch those innocent souls dancing to the chords and running about enjoying their time in an ambience of my tunes(thanks to your teachings and lessons). My all time favourite lesson by you is My Kinda Lover by Billy Squier. A man never stops learning. Music doesnt need a language or a medium to be communicated, we just have to feel it flowing through our veins rejuvenating our souls. Thanks for giving us a chance to learn more and emerge as a winner every day.
There is nothing better than watching those children enjoying the chords of music. Thanks for being the guide with your quirky, informative, super amazing and to the point guitar lessons. Sending across Best wishes and lots of love. Your admirer, Ronit !

Erich......some time back..you said ...it's up to you whether you want to be good or mediocre... choose between mediocrity and being good....and you said if one guy is practicing 2 hours then you have to practice for three hours...that has made a difference..your comment about being mediocre or good..choice is yours..so practice, practice practice....ur too good Erich....hit the nail on the head

Dear Guitar Sage. You mentioned that ALL good musicians progressed by taking small steps with lots of practiced and repetition, but I wonder how did guitarists like Mark Knofler, Slash, Keith Richards etc become so good, although they don't look as if they had studied music theory or practiced endlessly. I love your lessons.

Why is everyone so frightened of theory? It’s so much easier just to learn the basic theory and mechanics of the fretboard and then apply it. Lessons like this explain the work around instead of just talking about the chromatic numbers to express the lick. In other words the work around takes longer to explain than the theory.

I NEVER LEARNED PLAYING GUITAR BY READING NOTES ,AND I CAN PLAY THE GUITAR JUST LIKE YOU DO.BUT WHY DOES IT SOUND DIFFEREND WHEN I PLAY ALONG WHIT A SONG ON MP 3 WITH A MARSHALL MG 30 CFX AMP& A SAMICK MALIBU 01 LEFTHANDED GUITAR ? SHOULD I MOVE ON TO A MORE HIGH END EQUIPMENT? IF SO WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND ?(I PLAY SINCE I WAS 12 YEARS OLD NOW I'M 54).

#YourGuitarSage Hey Erich Sir well the tutorial was amazing as always.

I usually watch your videos later in the evening and yes I admit that sometimes instead of guitar in hand I’m holding a glass of wine. This time that wasn’t a smart move. You totally lost me when you started talking about the B string. I’ll have to revisit this video tomorrow morning and hopefully I’ll understand it better. I’ll also add the other videos about the fretboard. I’m getting better at finding everything but it still takes me waaaay too long to name the note. I’ve got an app to help me learn but when I switch from tablet to guitar I suddenly go blank. App’s are fine but they can’t compare to the sound and feel of a real guitar.
