I didn't know about the capo, because I learned the song by watching them do it live. John doesn't use a capo when he plays it on the 325. But the capo definitely is the sound on the record. Thanks.

My favorite Beatles song. Learned to play it years ago but this gave me all the nuances I missed. Thanks!

I always thought that THIS was the game changer song by John, but this is written at the time along with In My Life and Norwegian Wood. Minor substitution chords are happening all over Rubber Soul by all writers. NM is VERY Byrd-like as are many songs during this period. The vocal line however becomes Beach Boy-like. The sound is getting thicker.
Hey Mike, really LOVE your penchant for detail with these analysis pieces. You get into the nuances of the playing and voicings.

Another great breakdown Mike. And by the way, the bass sounds great on this one too. It’s got just the right amount of Paulie Punch.

Thanks Mike! Great lesson; I tried this with bass on Garageband & it sounds great! I found the bassline the hardest thing in this song, so I had to refer to 'Lefty Bassman' on TH-cam. You're a wonderful teacher/ communicator & a marvelous talent! cheers for now, Mike Evans😊
