It's interesting how when sticking to the clarinet valves it still sounds like a clarinet, but the minute you switch to the saxophone valves it takes on that distinctive resonant tone of the sax.
Me and a few of my bandmates once combined a trumpet mouthpiece, a clarinet and my bass clarinet together. It was amazing. we attached the trumpet mouthpiece where the clarinet mouthpiece should go and then attached the end of the clarinet to the neck of the bass clarinet.
@@Dom-417 Good trumpets sound amazing! Anything below that is…not as amazing. It really sucks, because we only really have one or two good trumpets in the advanced band program at my school right now, and there have only been a handful of good ones in all the honor bands I’ve been in.
it’s like trying to play trombone with a trumpet mouth piece😂 i’ve tried it the other way too trombone mouthpiece on a trumpet and it sounds like if trumpet had a bass trumpet
Thats my brother with the clarinet lmaooooo

This looks so sus...
More like contrabass lol
Accurate representation of band.
Especially marching band.
Lol
So true! We’re all just all pretty dumb.
@@Anonymous-ub1rl nah we just know how to have fun
This is band before the bell rings
It’s always the clarinetists and saxophones getting along lol.
Fr
Say that to Carson and Mac (Carson plays saxophone and Mac played clarinet, until she graduated June 7th)
Opposite at my marching band lol
for realll
In my band we poke fun at the fact that the clarinet players in my band always seem to be playing on broken reeds but the saxophones don't.
Mom can we get a bass clarinet?
No we have one at home
The bass clarinet at home.
As a bass clarinetist this made me laugh
Bro really couldn't afford that baritone sax 💀😭
When you can afford a bass clarinet
cant?
@@aquafine.2250 you missed the joke
@@aquafine.2250 wooooosh
@@aquafine.2250can't is the normal phrase but he switched up cuz he "can" afford 1 if has money to buy 2
@@virnexusstudios4175 When I actually play the bass clarinet 💀
As a clarinetist, I had a literal heart attack watching this.
As a bass clarinetist I had no problem
@@Ducko-on-quack As a bass clarinetist you should be even more concerned by this cheap knockoff of your instrument. 👍
as a trombonist i have no say here
@@Noted1bleAs a trumpet I also have no say in this
real
Bro this is some advanced middle school band before class shit💀
looks like something me and my friends would do
I actually took the bottom half off of my bass clarinet and just put the horn at the bottom, so it was basically a small Clarisaxaphonet :>
clarisaxaphonet🤣
Now that's a alto clarinet
you’ve heard of bari sax but now we got clari sax
I was wondering where the bell of the clarinet went
@@galaxylad8152 lol I was wondering the same thing

I play clarinet btw
The bass clarinet is a clarinet and sax together and the bass clarinet actually came before the I believe saxaphone
It did. Adolphe sax worked on (and improved) the bass clarinet, and then created the saxophone based on that.
@@nickbarrow2805 thx!
The exponential bell section doesn't influence partials, the linear cone section does. The bass clarinet only features the former
They were both invented by the same guy, I know that much
I’m a sax player and I approve this this is a masterpiece
In all my years of playing (we did some stupid stuff), as well as teaching, I gotta say… this is a new one for me! Bravo, band kiddos!
😂😂😂
Me personally, as a person who plays both those instruments I would love to try that.😭😁
Combine all forces, and we have…
*THE CLAREPHONE*
Put your tenor mouthpiece into the mouthpiece of a tuba and play the tuba with it. Super bass notes!!
Alto sax mpc on a trombone is fun!!!
imagine facing your band director after it gets stuck
The disappointment 😭😭
And explaining how you got there
My band director would just not saying anything and make a long sigh while trying to separate the instruments 😭
😂😂
@@MarinaraSauce_ that's cool i love to piss that kind of people off :3
As a tenor and clarinet player yea this is epic
Same haha
Agreed
Props to you two for trying this
This seems incredibly fun and also would be fun to be able to play below Low D
Absolutely amazing! 😮✨
Parents: What did you do at band practice today?
Me: Nothing much, just the usual
The usual:
Lmao😭😭
And this is how the bass clarinet and the bari sax were born lol
And that's how the bass clarinet was born
New instrument boss unlocked.

"what instrument do u play?"
"the clariphone"
I used to put a trumpet mouth piece in the neck of my bari sax and it didn’t sound too bad👀👀👀
I see those bibbers. This is definitely the type of shenanigans happening while waiting to perform
The people singing happy birthday casually
omg the half worn marching uniform, this is def prefootball game shenanigans!
That's the 2 instruments needed for a bass clarinet
Band kids when the director leaves the room lol
This is the marching band equivalent of running 2 tube screamers at the same time lol
This is why you can’t leave band kids unsupervised
me and my friends would do this but with my flute and saxophone it actually sounded better than expected
Being a clarinetists that’s the. Coolest thing I’ve ever seen
As a string player, I have no idea what’s going on
We sometimes used to create Frankenhorns for fun like this during football games in the stands but it made the diector furious.
yesss me and my flute buddy will put our flutes together and make a mega flute
Lol I’m so glad no one in my band does that even though it would be funny to watch 😂
Meanwhile the flutes and trumpets are fighting
I’m a flute and can confirm that our section will execute a planned airstrike on all trumpet players in our band next week.
@@MK_Brie I a piccolo and flute player confirm your statement

and i though carrying a bass clarinet at school was bad… the contrabass is really cool though! awesome playing, i’m a big fan. :)
And you can just hear the percussion rapidly dropping things in the back
I'm pretty sure this is how they invented the bass clarinet at some point😂😂
As someone who plays both a clarinet and a saxophone, I confirm this
Relatable
Mom can we get bass clarinet?
We have a bass clarinet at home
Bass clarinet at home:
Omg, we did this in my band class the other day! So fun. If you have the chance, put a trumpet mouthpiece on a piccolo body haha
Of course it’d be the marching band kids, I am one too, so I can speak that lobotomy is very common here
This makes me excited for band.
you played "5 minutes of free time before band class" beautifully
I tried this with my friend who plays tenor and i play the clarinet was quite fun to mess around with
The definition of bass clarinet
This is what happens in middle school band when the band director is not there
High school too 😂
These men are going places
Clarinet + Saxophone = Clarixophone. 😮
That's even funnier than when you string a lot of clarinet sections together!
Beautiful
And this is how baby bass clarinets are made
this is so cursed, I love it
Our trumpets and baritone saxophones used to do this 😂
yall should do a duet like that
Brass wood sax sounds like a cool name for the combo
I can relate sooooo much because I play tenor saxophone and clarinet and when the band director isn’t looking what better do I have to do
I need to try this someday with my friend- She plays tenor sax and I play Clarinet
me when my director sends my bass clarinet to the shop and forgets to tell me before rehearsal so i can pick it up :
and together they are… the TAX MAN!
発想は好き!!
Its playable, he just needs more air
i want to try this now
Reminds me of the Bass Clarinet
I play both clarinet and tenor sax I need to try this
I see band nerds haven’t changed. I love it.
i….. WHY ARE THEY INTERCHANGABLE!?!
That is cool. Two band instruments that to me sound kind of alike because I play saxophone
How does a man come up with a genius idea like this?
this one time i plugged my trumpet mouthpiece into my friend's saxophone and it sounded like a dying weasel
😂😂😂😂i need to try this with my class

✨ Thus, the Saxinet was invented! ✨

I did that same shit with a a second clarinet.
"and that kids is how the bass clarinet was born"
