  • We all knew that given time, every vehicle in the Dodge lineup would get the 6.2L supercharged hellcat engine. For 2021 it's finally the Durango's turn with the SRT Hellcat Durango. Under the hood of this unsuspecting family hauler beats a 710 horsepower tune of the Hellcat engine mated to the same all-wheel-drive system the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk gets. The result is a 0-60 time for you and 5 of your closest friends below 3.5 seconds, a 11.5 second 1/4 mile, and a top speed of 180 MPH...

    • @highwaycruiser6486
      @highwaycruiser6486 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not a lot of people would buy it in Canada. Even your SRT is quite rare among other cars or Crossovers. You sure can be safe to have a top performing crossover at most of streetlights

  • @asdf51501
    @asdf51501 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Come to think of it, my '18 Trackhawk has slight fender flares, and that gives it a beefier look over a standard non-SRT (because you can still get an SRT non-Trackhawk Jeep) Grand Cherokee. And I have to salute FCA and its "Hellcat all the things!" policy. I'll keep my Trackhawk over the Durango Hellcat, but damn if I don't want to run out and get a Charger Hellcat Redeye when they come out next year.

    Love my 2020 srt Durango. Got it a few months ago and it still has less miles than your tester. Your reviews helped me to decide to get it.
    Do you think the hell car version is better than the srt and worth the upgrade?

    • @rkalla
      @rkalla 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "better" depends on you - I had a Jeep SRT (very similar to your Durango SRT) and loved everything about it EXCEPT always wished it had more torque down low (all the power is made above 4500 RPM) - if that is something you've noticed also and would give up 4-6mpg and $15k to have it, then the Hellcat version is worth it. Otherwise not.

    • @rkalla
      @rkalla 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Twittavelli which "both"? (just so I know - the Jeep SRT and Durango SRT?). I actually like how the Jeep SRT exhaust is a bit more subdued than the Durango SRT, which seems to be loud as sin under acceleration.

    It will be interesting to see how dealers handle mark-ups considering the fact that this so-called pandemic has so negatively affected the bottom line spending capability of so many potential customers. My guess is that in the coming year, people will be far less willing extend themselves financially with six, seven, and eight year car loans, which will in turn have significant impact on this particular type of vehicle, because it is targeted more towards the working class hoonigan on a budget, as opposed to the more luxurious brands that target people with *real money* to burn.
