I just spent 4 days in the Florida Keys in shitty rainy weather with my Tough TG-6 (the TG-7 in the same camera, only slightly cosmetically different). It performed like a champ with no issues. I am very disappointed with the TG-7 not being at least a slight improvement in the many areas where it vould be improved upon.
I just bought the TG-7. Fun everyday carry camera. The macro features with the light guide are great. You can take it places where you wouldnt want to take an expensive cellphone.
Great Video - great information. I am upgrading my TG-5. I don't hike either, but these are the best - "Mom Cameras" ! We take it to the Beach, Water parks, swimming, floating the river, snorkeling, etc.. all the fun stuff we do with our kids.
I have the tg-5 and it takes great pictures and served me well numerous snorkeling adventures in Guam and elsewhere but I was hoping that they would add EIS to the movies as it is difficult to get a steady shot in the surf, just can't talk myself into a upgrade until this happens
I enjoyed the video thanks, just got my TG-7. I am looking forward to using it, and getting some "different" types of shots that this camera will allow..
And if you were robbed and have no camera, thank you for this video! I am going to buy two, as my wife also needs a camera. Who would want an old TG-6? That's so last season. TG-7 all the way!! 😂
I have no clue why this camera exists. give it a 1 inch sensor and make it video centric that would make sense. put a mft sensor and make it take better photos and be compact that would also make sense. put a phone sensor in it and make it ridiculously tough with no real benefit otherwise, see that doesnt make much sense to normal consumers. its too niche thats its problem.
You don't have a clue because you don't understand its uses. The smaller sensor makes it easier to achieve greater depth of field for macro shots. The folded optics allow for an internal zoom lens without the need to deal with engineering a rugged external zoom design - as such, a smaller sensor keeps the size of the camera pocketable. Just because it doesn't fit your needs doesn't make it useless for other people. Why must every camera appeal to normal consumers? These are tools with a specialized purpose.
@@moejoe347 thanks for your input. ive been doing street photography with film adn digital close to a decade now. I seriosly dont believe this camera has anything valuable to offer other than its size and macro abilities. just funny that they still make cameras with phone sensor sized sensors when my phone can take better photos, better videos and is always in my pocket, additionally my phone is waterproof.
@@Bbarm97phone is waterproof to what degree?🤣 lets say you are going for diving, do you use your phone to take underwater photograph? Or when you going for kayaking. Well that’s assuming if you go diving & kayaking. Different camera for different needs.
then i would just rent a camera for a week. in this case it would cost me less and id have a better camera probably for this purpose. but yeah its very niche. if it had better specs tho it would move away from just being niche. @@haiway85
What a waste of my time, he didn't get all the accessories from Olympus for these reviews. And he didn't even test the toughness of this camera. Only Talk Talk Talk.
One of the best reviews of this camera, particularly the example still shots and videos.

From this video I think there is no real reason to buy a TG7 if you already have a TG6?
does it take video?
I think if you took it to the pool you would be arrested for sure
Why would they have a non-sports guy review a sports camera? that's pretty dumb.
consumer item. anybody can review it.
Macro photography isn't a sport 🫣

Any idea what you’re talking about? I Seriously doubt it!
