  • We have an amazing episode of The Old Man and The Three this week with the iconic Joakim Noah. This is a long and illuminating conversation with one of the best story tellers in the history of The NBA. In this clip he talks about the Chicago Bulls / Miami Heat rivalry and whether or not their 'bad blood' went too far. He also talks about Dwyane Wade's small gesture while Jo was playing for The New York Knicks that made him rethink his whole perspective towards being competitive.
Subscribe to The Old Man and The Three podcast w/ JJ Redick (ESPN / First Take) and Tommy Alter TH-cam channel for more NBA analysis and player interviews.

Wade is a real one, even though those Heat/Bulls battles were intense over those runs. Wade knows the pain and frustration of playing through and back from injuries on several occasions. It’s dope he was able to have a human moment and set the rivalry aside to throw some encouragement Noah’s way.

I loved Wade and Noah as players. Wade was one of my favorites all time. Such an amazing leader and unselfish superstar. Noah was also a vicious competitor. Not the biggest, strongest, most athletic, skilled or talented, but man did the guy compete hard and produce for the Bulls. I wish his career went longer.

@@deykno87 he literally finished 4th in MVP voting one year. Was a DPOY, All Star, and elite passer from the post. Ya’ll not gonna sit here and act like Noah was just on some Kendrick Perkins ish. Dude was a top NBA player in his prime.

I really like what Noah was saying here. Great for him to have this prospect now. That super competitiveness and aggressive style is great in basketball and even in buisness, but not great relationally

It's interesting how he ends this at 4:20 saying he was turning into a persona that he truly wasnt.. when throughout the interview he tells us that that very much who he was, he goes as far as to say it's in his blood and even his daughter can be this way. It may have been more accurate to say it's not who he wants to be. And that's just as powerful to recognize that and make the steps to change
